- What's up TH-cam, it's me, Jess, and I'm an opera singer. Today's sponsored video by Devron Love is a performance analysis on Sohyang singing Where Are You.
I unfortunately had a lot of issues with this video being blocked. As a result, I had to do a video on a performance without the subtitles.

This should be known as one of Soyang’s greatest performances, but because it was difficult to find a good video (the original has her interview dubbed over the climax of the song), it does not get the run it should. Thank you for this… one of my faves!
This is one of my top 5 favorite So Hyang performances that hardly gets reacted to. That's a shame but I am sure glad you did. Nice job and keep it up. You are very knowledgeable and we appreciate it.
Thank you, Robert!

😊
Its one of her most emotional and resonant performances, I love how crude she made this version, so passionate ♡
No matter what So Hyang sings, Korean or English, I wind up with, um, something in my eye before it's over. What a blessing to have So Hyang and her performances available for the world to experience! Thank you for your inciteful analysis!
This is not a typical request of Sohyang. Good on you for stepping out of the box!
No, it isn’t! Big thanks to the sponsor. I might not have even heard this song otherwise. It has never been requested.
Pls try her ‘begin again korea’ version of misty!!!
Thats one of the latest song
And u will def have whats called eargasm
And goosebumps
This is among my favourite performances of Sohyang. Below Everyone.
The climax of this song is one of my favorites 🔥
No one can sing like that without years and years of training. To achieve anything in life you must work for it. She deserves it.
pls react to more of her! she's SO amazing
Sohyang is a great singer and has an angelic voice.
She's got the magic she makes me happy and sad
I've listen to this a hundred times already and still counting..🤣
I have tried to preserve the poetic beauty of this song as much as possible by writing a poetic but fairly accurate translation.
[Title: Beloved, where are you?]
Even now in my memory
Remains your tears, beloved
Now in my heart lingers
Buried grief I keep against my will
Even your departing,
Was it all misfortune?
Looking at the rainy road
You spring up in me again
Still to this day the together-times
The many that we spent, I draw
Each breath-span containing them
Flooding tears they me make
Even your departing,
Was it all misfortune?
Looking at the rainy road
You spring up in me again.
Still to this day the together-times
The many that we spent, I draw
Each breath-span containing them
Flooding tears they me make
The picture of your returning -
My greatly pleased heart drawing it -
How it keeps making tears flow!
00000000h . . .
They remain in time flooding me with tears!
The picture of your returning -
My greatly pleased heart drawing it -
How it keeps making tears flow!
Beloved, where are you?
Brilliant
She's just so so good! 🔥🎤💜👏🏾
She’s the best singer there is IMO
1) the person she is her love for singing and god
2) technique is on a different level
3) She takes any song does it her way leaves enough room to leave the originality of the song and put her technique and heart into every performance
4) she can have the softest tone and sing any song but if you really watch and listen to most of her singing videos every song has a meaning to her which makes her act out he song and gets lost in it
5) she has turned down many record deals with huge companies which is rare these days she does it her way
6) she’s Just amazing and such a beautiful person
Thank you for your detailed analysis. Don't see a lot of reactions to this performance, which is a shame as it is one of her best in terms of technical skill and emotional delivery along with "Everyone"
Kim, So Hyang is Always Welcome
When Kim, So Hyang sings, she never takes on a patronizing attitude. She never forces us. Rather, she always
tries to empathize with us, offering unconditional love.If there should be only one word to define her music,
that must be "Love". She always talks about Love and embodies it singing a song. Love is what she's all about.
And, in her Love, there is no place for judging and pushing. So we only have to listen and enjoy her blessing of
Love without any pressure. I hope all of you guys will get through your own nights with her comfort.
Don't be fooled by the thought that there's no more room for improvement in her vocals.
It seems against the course of nature, but her development is ongoing🙂 At 43 yrs old still very Relevant
So Hyang said in an interview that she was trained by Seth Riggs who was the vocal coach for Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, etc. Her musical influence has been Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. So Hyang at a young age was a famous Gospel singer and one of the most successful CCM artist having toured all around the world. I watched her CCM concert live back in the late 2000's in NY and she was unbelievable. She was singing much more high notes and not as refined as now but still a force of nature.
I honestly think if her career was not stunted by her fight with cancer and the constant health issues, she has been facing, she would have been world famous.
Her intentions have never been influenced by fame or money, she said in an interview that just sings to comfort people because she drew comfort when she went through her cancer treatment from listening to the likes of Whitney and Mariah during her recovery, she also struggled with getting pneumonia over a 3yr period and still gave masterclass performances, one in particular was ARIRANG ALONE which to this day I still think it's of the greatest live performances I have ever seen, all arranged by herself, she's never had vocal tuition, she is self taught, she never became a singer until she was 20, she's now 45 believe it or not, she always looks magnificent, she has the gorgeous face I have ever seen especially when she's singing 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.
@@steveheckle8847 Can we please stop with the SoHyang "arranging" nonsense . She may have had some input or suggestions, but she was not the arranger . And she as had, like the previous commenter mentioned some voice coaching and mentoring.
This song makes me cry every time I swear to god😭
She is currently the best singer in the world.
🤔..설마..진짜 그 유명인은 아니시죠?
So Hyang is definitely my favorite singer. It's her incredible emotion that she incorporates into her music and how she adds so much color to every note she sings. Her songs are tangible.
I'd love to see you react to her performance of "Misty" from the Begin Again Korea series, as well as her performance of "Do You Know" on King of Masked Singer in Korea.
Yes! Second Misty.
wow, I love your description "Her songs are tangible"!!! This is exactly what I'm looking for so long time to describe how her songs are like! Thanks!
@@JK-np6sj yes, that has always been the word for me. Her songs have a very ethereal, tangible, consciousness about them that quite honestly I haven't heard from anyone else to the level I have felt it in her voice.
yesssss!!
Not only is she my favorite but at 67 she is the best I've ever heard she does something emotionally to me every time!
Crazy thing is that she's mostly self taught. I think she grew up singing in the church, then she took like 3-5 sessions from a star vocal coach in the states in her late 20s and she just kept training herself.
Yes his name is Seth Riggs
Actually no. She was trained on the technicals by Seth Riggs and was thought how to really sing by the producer of boyz2men.
She is a perfectionist and has been practicing to be a perfect technical singer ever since.
@@wandervibe those were only 2-3 lessons from Seth Riggs and she was already singing for a whole decade before meeting him and showing her basic exercises, so I wouldn't count that. Do you have any sources about that producer, I actually can't remember anything about that, either I forgot or haven't come across that piece of info😅
Actually Seth Riggs trained Michael Jackson too ?
@@wandervibe she barely trained with Seth Riggs. She only had a few sessions with him.
Thank you for the reaction. So Hyang is one of my favorite singers. And of course I know it isn't Christmas time now, but please react to her cover of ''O Holy Night'' from Immortal songs. It's so beautiful! You won't be disappointed.
P.s. Seth Riggs was one of her vocal coaches.
This song has some intensely emotional lyrics, and it shines through in her voice. One of her best performances in my opinion. Thanks for the reaction!
I remember reading that she was in a lot of pain when she sang that song. She left the stage crying because she thought she made a mistake. I don't her it. I heard perfection.
Thank you for your reaction. SoHyang is my queen. I have tremendous respect for her. She resonates love and sincerity in her singing.
Finally someone reacts to this piece of art. And you picked the right video, too. There is another one where they mixed her interview with the peak of the song and destroyed everything. And your analysys is just top.
There are a lot of another amazing performances on Masked Singer: From sadest Dear Love to rock stile Monalisa.
Her king of mask videos are on a whole Different level dear love
Do you know

Her song and beauty are indescribable.
Even her movements are so beautiful.
Only she's like a black hole to me.
So I can't escape. Thanks for the reaction.
Sohyang is crazy good! Nice breakdown!! Didn't understand the lyrics but when music is this beautiful it Transends language! That is the beauty of music.
I'd love to watch your analysis of SoHyang singing "Misty", "Never Enough" and "Lean On Me"
One of my all time favorites of hers, which sadly does not get reacted to very often. Thank you for a great reaction and analysis. Loved it. Look forward to more Sohyang reactions.
What a great great reaction and analysis!! I've been this video more than 10 times only on your channel!! It's a joy to me sharing a same feeling from other singer like you!!
Thank you so much for watching!
I watched the continuation of this video after she’d finished singing & she wasn’t happy with the performance as she came off stage. She thought she hadn’t performed as well as she can, which I think shows just how high her standards are. I myself thought it was amazing.
Sohyang hasn’t spent years having vocal training, it’s all down to her & natural ability & practice, however, she only learnt to sing in her mixed voice after visiting the US & came across a vocal coach called Seth Riggs, who has worked with many famous artists, but is known for his work with Michael Jackson. He taught her how to sing in mixed voice using the ‘ney ney ney’ method ( I will try & locate the video of her explaining this & demonstrating the difference in sound for you if you’d be interested). And now she is often referred to as the ‘queen of mix’.
Her impeccable technique allows her to literally sing any genre, rock, pop, blues/jazz, obviously the big ballads, & there is even a video of her rapping (the song ‘day day’ from the ‘begin again Korea series), although I have yet to see evidence of her singing opera. I would be confident that if she decided to try opera, given the appropriate training, she would do well. Having said that, I am no expert on opera, that’s your department, so I wonder what you think.
Apart from the fact that Sohyang herself wasn’t happy with this performance, I think this song doesn’t show what she is capable of. I think some of her most memorable performances are where she is covering songs that we here in the west are already familiar with, not just for her amazing vocals but because these performances also show her talent for musical arrangements. ‘Bridge over troubled water’, ‘Lean on me’, from the show ‘immortal songs 2’. ‘I have nothing’ from the DMC festival or there are a number of covers in her appearances in the ‘begin again Korea’ series which were filmed throughout the pandemic, so they are up to date. The performances in this series are all outdoors, as live as you can get & of a more acoustic nature with very little, & at times no musical accompaniment, so her voice is really exposed & believe me, she killed it.
There is one performance though that I think you will really like & that is her performance of ‘Arirang Alone’ from the series ‘immortal songs’. It is not opera but I think the orchestral arrangement will appeal to you. She changed the song from a really simple Korean folk song in to the more anthemic version that you are hopefully going to witness yourself.
….cont.
I meant to say that although she can sing all these different genre’s, her heart is with gospel music & elements of gospel can often be found in her arrangements of songs that are not usually associated with that genre. Her gospel roots can really be seen in what many regard as her masterpiece, the song ‘Everyone’, again from the ‘immortal songs’ series. This performance is 7.5 minutes of Sohyang in her element, or in her wheel house I think you say on your side of the Atlantic.
I would say that unless you are already familiar with a song, the probability is that she will be singing in Korean,so I would advise that you find a version with eng subs, but only because it will enhance your enjoyment of the song, in no way will it spoil it if you can’t. I don’t speak a word of Korean yet she regularly gives me goosebumps & sometimes reduces me to tears when singing in her native language. This is down to her amazing ability to make you ‘feel’ with her story telling through a song, even though you have no idea what she is singing about. ‘Vimeo’ usually has eng subs on all her performances.
Again, I am really enjoying analysis of her performances by people who really know their stuff when it comes to singing, like yourself. I have never seen comments saying she isn’t that good at singing from people who understand singing, all the negative comments come from people that are musically ignorant or fans of one of the other great female singers of today that seem to put Sohyang down all the time ( a touch of jealousy I think!!!). Sohyang’s may not sing the type of music that someone likes, which is fine, we all have different tastes, but I don’t see how, if they are completely honest, anyone can say that she is not a great singer.
@@linzigrogan6844 A LOT of people lie to others and themselves every day. It leads to serious mental problems and that is why God says don't do it. People who put So Hyang down are usually lying in my experience, so they can try to elevate whoever they like better. Unfortunately, there are some Morisette fans who do this, and out and out trolls who truly are mentally deranged. Just my observations over the last two years. Most people, like 99.9%, are astonished at her vocal skill.
Thanks a lot, That's a gem that is rarely reacted to which is a shame as i think it's one of her most beautiful songs. As for her F3s she has hit quite a few of those in multiple songs and they were rich and resonant. Can't wait for you to check more of her and you will see how amazing she is.

THX’s Jess ♥️ SoHyang & enjoyed ur analysis very much! While this isn’t reacted to a lot, imo it’s one of her best & very emotional perf, (she really dug deep)! Now .. If you ask SoHyang, about vocal training .. she’ll always respond .. God given. ✌️Take Care Jess xo
You should see how she sings now its crazy good
Spectacular!! Soul Scrubbiing Emotional Performance!!
OMG ! Sohyang ! She is out of this world ! 🤩 Thanks.
I can’t wait omg
So Hyang is one of my favorite female singers alive today, if not all time. The way she immerses herself into each of “her” arrangements is mind blowing. I’d like to emphasize “her” arrangements because not only does she have one of the best voices in the world she also arranges or recomposes every song she performs. Don’t know if it is true but I have read she used to sing along while listening to Whitney, Mariah & Celine songs on albums she owned. Singing/performing for her began in her church. What blows my mind also is the fact that she is self taught. I read where she did take a couple of professional singing lessons in her late 20’s. I believe she is 43 now and is also is a cancer survivor.
I call what she does better than anyone else in the world “vocal posturing”. I know that is not a music industry term but that’s what I call it. I think everyone understands!
If you have not done so already do yourself a favor and read her story. She is amazing!
Since you mentioned those F3s, let's talk about her lower register for a second: It took me a few years to actually realize this about SoHyang, but when I did, a lot of things made sense. Essentially, her issue in the lower register isn't thyroarytenoid muscle underdevelopment, but rather an unfamiliarity with a wider range of muscle coordinations of her chest register. SoHyang rarely ever sings in pure chest voice. She usually carries some _slight_ head voice muscle engagement when singing in her lower register because it provides a sweeter and lighter tonal quality, and that's usually what she goes for. It's the reason she sounds less projected and weaker. I call them "mixy lows".
If you hear her rendition of songs such as "It's Only My World" (a rock song), you'll hear her actually engaging full chest voice and projecting into the mid 3rd octave with no issue and considerable chest resonance. It's like two ends of the chest voice spectrum. Dark, projected, full VS light, weak-ish, brighter. The issue is that her instrument down there isn't as evened out as the rest of her voice is, so she rarely ventures into muscle coordinations that lie between those two ends of the spectrum. (They aren't total ends, yes, but I'm trying to make a point). Regardless, I don't think it's arguable that her chest voice is 'underdeveloped', since you can very, very clearly hear a strong, present and thick chest resonance in her mixed voice. That isn't achievable without proper thyroarytenoid muscle development and proper muscle coordination.
So it's not that the F3s are too low for her, it's rather that she used a coordination that made the sound too light for an F3, so the sound got lost. That light coordination was just enough for notes above around F#3 to be audible, but not below that. If she were more evened out down there, she wouldnt have an issue rapidly shifting through a range different coordinations for each section of that ascending vocal line with the first one being one that will bring a better projected and more embodied sound, similarly to how she does in her mixed voice (see the B4-B5 change).
Wow, I've always wondered why her lower register sounds weak even though her speaking voice is low. Thank you for your comment because I also have the same issue as her.
this is a really good breakdown of her voice and why sometimes her lows aren't as strong!
💯❤️
I referred to your explanation in my comment but didn't give you credit for it. This explanation makes intuitive sense to me given what we heard in It's Only My World. Are there any other examples of performances where she "flipped down" into a real full chest for an extended period?

Hermosa reacción ☺️ eres muy talentosa y sabes apreciar a esta gran cantante ! Saludos de Chile 🇨🇱🤙😎
She just like a wailing Siren in classic Myths.. She trained by Seth Riggs!
The best singer, Beautiful Sohyang! It gives dreams, hopes, impressions. 👍
She is simply the best female vocalist on the planet in my opinion. Love your expertise and analysis. Please do more of her. Her cover of Michael Bolton's arraignment of 'Lean On Me' you would love I think. Cheers.
Great reaction! Thanks!
OMG YES YES YES
Thank you so much for great analysis and reaction. Absolutely I agree with you.
She is just amazing and so emotional.
You must be a great vocal teacher.
Please more react to Sohyang.
Have a nice day.
Wow this song iss next level…I never expected u to react👏🏻👏🏻
Oh no! So bummed I ended up missing the premiere, work really kicked my butt yesterday and I just couldn’t wake up in time 🤦🏿♂️ But that’s alright, I’m so glad you were able to get it up over here! Thanks again Jess, definitely appreciate all you do! 😁😁 Can’t wait for more Sohyang, and hopefully less issues with copyright 🤞🏿
That's ok Devron! Life gets busy sometimes so I completely understand 🤗
Please do The Fate next!! That song and performance is so underrated! It’s on the same stage as this song. Such beauty
This is my favorite SoHyang performance ever. The build up of starting low and breathy to lur in and then BOOM.
Great to see you again. Again a fascinating analysis of Sohyang's "Where Are You". As an avid follower of Sohyang's videos, I was surprised to see you react to this less reviewed performance and even more tickled by your commentary.
Your discussion on Sohyang's breath control on this stage is the best I've seen. Love the explanation on constrained breathing and the cuts on how inhalation impacts the performance. Also really enjoyed the note on managing the closed vowel to an open one. I have heard this reference many times but found your comment much more satisfying. Interesting note on Sohyang's F3 as well.
Your breakdown on Sohyang's B5 octave jump was detailed, insightful and informative, particularly on the connection to Sohyang's balanced mixed voice.
I've seen many amaze over this performance but your video also made me feel thrilled from your reaction. Thanks for the video.
PS: Sohyang is my favorite singer.
I'm not a singer, but with you I understand what it's about.
Great reaction!
My favorite songs from So Hyang are:
1. Everyone: Epic gospel song
2. Fate: Beautiful ballad
3. Hug me: another great ballad
4. Ariang Alone: Korean folk song
5. I have nothing: Better than the original ;-)?
Warm greetings from Germany :-)
지금도 기억 속에 남겨둔 그대 눈물
이제는 가슴 속엔 묻혀만 두긴 싫어
Your tears left behind even now in my memory
I don't want to bury deep in my heart anymore.
떠나야 했던 것도 모두가 우연일까
비 오는 거릴 보며 그대 다시 떠올라
Was it all mere a chance that we had to leave?
Looking into a raining street, I remind you again.
아직도 함께했던 그 많은 시간들을 그리며
나의 한숨 시간 속에 남아 나를 눈물짓게 해
Still missing those long hours we shared together
Over time I stay in my sighs, which make me cry.
돌아올 그대 모습 그려 보는 것만으로
너무나도 행복해진 나는 자꾸 눈물이 나는지
그대는 어디에
Just imagining your figure that will come back to me again
I am so happy that tears keep welling in my eyes.

This is my favorite performance she’s ever done. This song shows off more of her ability to weave into a melody rather than just vocal acrobatics (although it’s got that one really high note still lol).
OMG finally 😍☺️
Edit: I recommend you to react to Mamamoo. They're Queens of vocals! They're so unique from other girl groups and they're absolutely amazing and talented. Their performances on immortal song are amazing! (My favourites are "the way to sampo" and "backwoods") 😊🥰
I missed this reaction. I'm so glad I found it. What a wonderful breakdown you did. She has become my favorite singer of all time and I think it has more to it than her incredible mastery of her instrument. So much has to do with how she emotes and connects to us the listeners. I saw a very good interview with a Turkish reactor who travelled to Korea to see So Hyang. She is/was incredibly humble, truly unbelievable when I think of some of our American divas. I was shocked to know she did not begin singing (publicly) until she was 19 years old! Anyway, I am glad I found this. Thanks for your wonderful in depth breakdown. Despite, those lower register notes (which I did not catch the first time, but did on a second listen) this is considered by some her greatest performance. I think her ability to convey the emotion of the song is one very large reason. I have said this before, I think So Hyang and Lara Fabian are the very best when it comes to moving their audiences in a live performance...
Please try to edit the Everyone reaction to get out as much copyrighted material and try reposting it here :((
PLEASE.
This was spectacular! Thank you for your thoughtful and expert analysis. I learn so much watching your reactions!
I know that she has improved her lower register quite a bit the last few years! It has been a laboured process as since she had Pneumonia 8 times from 2014 to 2019 it has add to the difficulty! When she is healthy and rested you can she a marked improvement! She just doesn’t use it much and doesn’t have to as usually they are emotional songs and a breathier mix works well.as far as I can tell though, even at her age she still make little improvements ! I would love to see her do more Jazz but Her Gospel will always occupy the majority of her efforts and her vocal Ministry! I have so much Respect for Her! With the, Cancer, Hepatitis and Pneumonia she is a walking miracle, and to have such a positive outlook, demeanour
And to be so open and honest about everything is Amazing to many of us ! It is the total Package, that we Love! God Bless Her !
Amen. Yes she is a miracle, and still growing.
💖💖💖
Love the reaction! Yup welcome to the Sohyang world! Where tons say she’s the Queen and Dimash is the King. Sohyang is by far the best to me! Her total package of talent, skills that go well beyond vocals, beautiful background life story, and most of all, what she stands for. She does all her own arrangements. She also has many more songs. Rap, Pop, Jazz, Rock, and of course her wheel house, gospel. Mahalo and Aloha from Hawaii! 🤙
The same great technical reaction as usual! So Hyang is beyond Amazing!
So Hyang is the best female voice in the world there is not the slightest doubt.
May I suggest to travel a bit more....

@@brunodemarchis4533 Well how about “Best Female Mixed Voice”?
@@changing22 I would say it is an exaggeration.
soyhang excels at high-pitched screams and nasal sound.
the sound of the nose to rest the vocal cords, the use of screamers.
makes exaggerated use of the twang technique.

Absolutely loved this! I have watched this performance for God knows how many times but your analysis still points out so many new highlights. Thank you for a very detailed and insightful analysis. Would love to see more reaction videos to Sohyang from you. "Misty" (from the show "Begin Again") or "Everyone" would be fantastic!

Also, SoHyang arranges all of her songs herself.
Really appreciate your breakdowns. Very very insightful. I feel like I learn a lot from them.

As usual, amazing analysis. I loved it! The fact that So Hyang stayed in the 5th octave and in forte mode for the climax and remaining part of the song still astonishes me. Although I am still waiting for your reaction to her most technical 7-minute Vimeo performance of "Everyone" with English subs. I hope you can react to it soon! Love lots and take care always!

Powerful voice...thanks
The only vocal trainer that I have ever heard of that helped her, was Seth Riggs who she says taught her mixed voice over a few lessons while she was visiting the US back in about 2011. It appears she may be self taught which is pretty incredible. She is also an artist and an author and appears extremely bright, so it wouldn't surprise me if she did teach herself from numerous sources. She mentioned listening to a lot of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. She said in one interview she taught herself English from US TV shows, so her being self taught would certainly go along with that.
She met Seth between 2000 and 2005.
Thx for reacting Sohyang again. Always love your detailed explanation on videos you reacted. Pls react on her other video. Maybe her masterpiece called ‘Everyone’? 👌🏻
I love almost every version of 그대는 어디에 - the melody is just so pleasing
How on earth can anyone mix a B5 so powerfully???? 🤯🤯🤯🤯
I have been watching her since 2014
Can you do 'stay' from the begin again? It is So hyang's original song and I found something. She improved her low voice there😘
Ooh what a find🤸🤸👏Lovely voice! Very tender. Her highs are amazing. I LOVE the mystery of not knowing what someone's native tongue is exactly singing all the time. I just appreciate how music magically uses humans as awesome artistic vehicles, domestic or foreign👌
I think I saw a backstage clip somewhere of her being upset and crying after this performance because it didn’t turn out the way she wanted and she was not happy with the performance. I was like, where did she think she messed up???
The mindset of a goddess
I remember that...but I don't think it was her being upset about her singing. She was still lingering in the emotion of the song which as you can see from the lyrics is of deep sadness and longing. She of course cohld not cry during the performance but she let it all out after getting off stage. To me it showed her emotional dedication to the song to give it the respect and justice she thinks it deserved. A professional through and through.
@@iwjung3942 I'm pretty sure she also cried that she didn't do it the best she can
I heard someone say that after the stage illumination changed to purple, for some reasons, the back-up singers can't be heard loud enough as planned and that is makes sense, I think.
@@wannabedavid7919 that's a peculiar speculation
As always learned a bunch of stuff from you that we've never gotten from other coaches, especially the stuff around breathing which you covered in the previous video as well. Thank you so much for putting all the editing effort in required to get it past the copyright police!
Regarding training, she's pretty much self taught other than some sessions with Seth Riggs around 2009 which she credits with the development of the mixed voice we hear today. If you view videos from before that time she was definitely much less balanced and could get shouty/unstable when in the upper part of the 5th octave.
At the end of this performance the cameras followed her backstage where she broke down in tears because she felt she had made some mistakes (possibly the unsupported F3's you pointed out) but finished 2nd in the episode anyway. I don't know if this is correct but it's been pointed out by others that she can get to that F3 with proper support (she does it in It's Only My World) but needs to be in pure chest voice with a slightly lowered larynx to do it. She just doesn't have the same register transition ability down there that she does between her mix and head voices which makes sense given how little time she spends in that part of her voice. Thoughts on that explanation?
Wow! Thanks for this 🤯❤❤🤗
I agree.
Great Analysis! Sohyang is my absolute favorite singer in the world!!! Also I heard that one of her voice teaches was the same one that Michael Jackson had.
Thank so much

She teaches at one of the University of South Korea. She is a master.
Seth Riggs , she said in an interview that she was trained by Seth Riggs.
He also trained Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Madonna and several other famous singers.
Me too I’m curious who helped her find her voice and trained her voice…I know she used to be a heavy belter decades ago and she mentioned about learning how to mix when coming to America to sing
