    I don't know Doug, you may want to consider taking this on the Camino. Think of the possibilities, nice shade from that midday heat thru the Meseta for your siesta, you could set it up at night as a tent, instead of staying at an albergue, better yet, you could run your own traveling albergue, charge 5E per night, put 3 other pilgrims in there with you, probably pay for your meals. LOL
    But seriously, it is neat, especially for the price. Great review.

      You know, at first I thought you were joking, but you make some intriguing points . . . :) LOL Thanks!

    I have this tent and I LOVE it!! Trying to remember how to fold it up and as you get to that part you post a huge sign saying "fold up tent" blocking our view of you as you are folding up the tent LOL I want to seeeee everything you are doing hahaha. This tent is great and your review is greatly appreciated!

      Haha! Just squeeze the top bars and let it collapse, fold the poles up toward you and it's good to go. :)

    I love the easy setup. I’ve been looking for a good tent for the beach. I love where you can use sand to hold it down instead of stakes. Cool video 👍

      Yeah when I first got it I feared it was just a "cheap" gimmick, but it seems to be a solid tent!

    Hi. Thanks for the video. I'm interested in wet weather use but there is no mention of it. Would rain be able to get into the shelter, maybe through the meshed windows?

      Yeah it's not a rain shelter for sure. It'd keep the worst out but it would have numerous leaks.

    Hi. I see that you made this video about a year ago. Have you used this shelter in a hot environment yet? I think we are going to get it to replace our old one, but I wonder if the black makes it hot on the beach? Maybe that's a dumb question, but if you have any experience using this in the heat, I'd love to hear about it. We use this type of shelter to protect my child with special needs from sun exposure and heat. Thanks very much!

      I actually gave this to my dad, but I'd say that the black is cooler than it looks because the outside is reflective. They make solar protective umbrellas the same way - reflective outside and black inside. Otherwise light and heat reflective inside.

      I've used it in hot weather, works great. Make sure to close the windows to reduce the amount of sun rays getting in.

    this tent wouldve been perfect but they screwed up the shades. the shades shouldve been on the outside incase it rains the shades would close from the outside. the easthills outdoors coastview has the window shades on the outside, but they dont have the dark version!!!

    • @BackcountryPilgrim
      @BackcountryPilgrim  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah definitely not a storm shelter! (And if the shades were on the outside, you couldn't reach them from the inside. ;) )

      @@BackcountryPilgrim but if shades are on outside you could drop them before rain starts
