Can you imagine trying to get your hot, tired grumpy kids back on the ship after spending the day at the beach!? No way!
The flies are outrageous. Disney needs get real and have enclosed, air conditioned spaces for food service to keep the flies out. Flies on food and flies laying dead next to it as seen on this video is awful. Even worse the pathogens they carry. They need to control the breeding sites, too. Great video. Thanks.
There are metal mesh basket-like covers in frames which have been used for decades in the American South to keep flies off. I’ve noticed in other tropical places that the native people seem used to flies - after generations of not being able to do anything about them. But the tourists are North American and Northern Europeans, and will never accept this! I’m sure that Disney will heed suggestions made during this first opening of the resort. They will have the problem resolved quickly.

Thank you for the clarification regarding this not being a private island. You are one of the only ones getting this fact stated accurately. Locals have access to the site in addition to those on the cruise ship.
The Bahamian Government is very strict in governing their people. The natives will not be allowed here unless employed. An example of this is Atlantis They are very proud people and we should be grateful they share paradise with others.
@@joyceedwards6112 DCL confirmed non- cruisers who live on the island can access the site and pre-pay for food and drinks (confirmed on preview day). It’s a private port but not a private island based on Disney’s agreement with the Bahamian government.

While meeting you was a highlight of my cruise, this video just reinforces why I love yall so much. I appreciate your honest reviews and how positive you are. ❤

My God, the turquoise water is out of this world. Also, compared to other private islands, the price of those cabanas is reasonable. Great job, guys. I love your sense of humor
I think the merch in the indigenous store was prettier than the Disney merch. Those hand woven bags that say Bahamas and have flowers on them were gorgeous. The cabanas look totally worth it and certainly cheaper than Royal for a nicer beach. I hope they don't figure it out and raise the prices!
I have been waiting for the first videos of the island. And you and Ben and David were the first ones I wanted to see because first I love you two guys and the most credible of all the cruise videos.
Great preview and honest statements of problems to be fixed. That pier was way too long w/o shuttles and the flies (shutter) but it is beautiful and that sand and the water took my heart 💙 thank you as always for such great info and tour!
I was waiting... Actualy, I was hoping you two would make a video tour of this island. I really like how you guys present everything, so I avoided other vlogs in hopes you'd show us the island as well. I'm very happy now!
When that vegetation ages, it's going to be very beautiful there. Those roofs remind me of turtle shells. My least favorite thing about Disney is, Disney. The way the brand everything. So this was totally refreshing to see. I might be able to actually enjoy this space. Definitely need to bring back umbrellas for sun protection, make them beautiful. Thank you for this video!
Health Department would shut it down. Amazing they weren't prepared for an outdoor food area. I spent time on that island before this development. Enjoy. I'm glad it's Disney, they will keep it clean. 🌝
that's exactly what i was thinking that any health department in the USA would shut them down immediately. It's crazy considering they've been operating Castaway Cay for so many years and i've never noticed a problem with flies there. One difference is at Castaway Cay you walk inside the food areas to get your food. It's not just a window that you walk by. You actually enter into the food area to pick up your food. Maybe that makes a difference?
I’ve never watched your videos before, but you’ve just gained a new subscriber. I’ve watched many videos on Lookout Cay and yours is by far the most informative and complete. Thanks for a great overview.
@@Lkb5555 most who cant walk 20 minutes straight will more than likely been checked and fully aware why they can't walk 20 minutes. Absolute ignorant comment

Thank you so much, Ben and David! You never disappoint! I think “Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point” (😂😂😂) is beautifully designed! Can’t wait for those new plantings to grow - Ben, you’re right, the walkways will be shaded, with spectacular views. The inclusion of Bahamanian culture, availability of the work of local artists, and the employment of the those folks whose island this really is, make this a port I would really enjoy. Thank you for describing all the features and giving us the prices.
Can I just say it’s great that you guys were so professional and positive about things and upbeat saying “hey we are here the first day and there will be issues but I’m sure Disney will address them.” I’ve been seeing several vloggers be so negative and nasty about the first visit there.
Thanks for a thorough review of the Lookout point. You guys do such a great job at filling us all in on the new things in cruising. I agree that Disney needs to fix some things - the long walk with no shade, the flies, etc. Once the plants/trees grow, the area will be more filled in and shadier. It would have been great to see a pool area. The beach is gorgeous but some people want to be in a pool. They may change some things after watching all the reviews and reading the comments. Thanks for all you do!!
I must say how much I appreciate how positive and respecting you both are towards acknowledging the Bahamian culture on the island! Of course you do point out the the pros and cons of the island, but in a way that's different from some of the more negative vloggers. Happy cruising to you both!
First time watching your channel. I appreciate both of you talking slowly & annunciating words. Better video than most channels because if the information you have dug to share for the video. And for the amount of talking you both do, surprisingly it hasn't been annoying.
Okay... I'm only half way through, but...yeah, i think I'd have to book a Disney cruise that doesn't stop there. The water is gorgeous, but i wouldn't be able to make that walk. The flies on the food is just disgusting, and I'm not one that gets grossed out too easily. I really like the idea of the cultural center. I also wonder... that's a lot of walkway, fencing, roofing etc for an island VERY prone to hurricanes. Hope they make out okay.
I live in coastal SC. After hurricanes, many new plants and palm trees (shallow roots) get totally wiped out. That happened here a couple months before a huge PGA tournament. I’m surprised that Disney didn’t open this in mid winter to give the plants more time to take hold before the bad hurricane season that’s predicted. Fingers crossed that the area doesn’t get any direct hits.
@@Lkb5555 Um, what? How incredibly rude of you! I have a 5 day cruise on the Dream booked for February. It’s coming to this island and Castaway. Along with my husband, we are paying for 4 other members of our family. Why in God’s name would you even assume I couldn’t afford a Disney cruise?
Your video is very well done. Having visited the otherworldly beautiful Lighthouse Point on many Eleuthera vacations and most of the time being the only people there, seeing all of these people and knowing what it will do to the coral reefs and other wildlife makes me cry.
Between that very long walk on the pier just to get to Lookout Cay and the flies all over the food, I'm not sure I'd be wanting to get off the ship. Disney did a great job with all the buildings and cabanas, but I can't help but think there had to be a better way. Carnival has an actual sky ride at their port in Roatan, Honduras. It's a beautiful ride to the beach with lots to see on the way, and it's free if you rent a cabana. Maybe Disney could put one in too.
My husband and I spent a relaxing week on Eleuthera several years ago, so BEAUTIFUL, authentic and lovely residents, just wonderful! Hired a private tour guide one day, got on the ONE road running north and south, went to the blue hole, Gregory Town, to a pineapple farm, too much fun! I understood prices have skyrocketed since then - but what a perfect time! And the beaches around the island look just like the ones shown...
“Not a chance in hell I’m eating any of that”. Says Ben. My favorite line of the video. Every time a fly lands, it vomits its stomach acid so it can get ready to start digesting what it has landed on. 🤮
Thank you for the honest review. I have been on 12 DCL cruises, on all the ships. My first was on the Magic and 2 years ago I did the Fantasy and Wish. My heart stays on the Wonder. Anyway, I have been watching your channel in the last few weeks, I love the information you give, it is just enough and very honest.
This is what keeps us from Caribbean cruising - that long hot walk down the pier. And the only ports that seem to have trams are the ports like Nassau that you don’t actually want to visit.., Too, too hot…
I wonder how you guys went through the whole island wearing Crocs! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was wearing my most comfortable sandals and still got blisters under my feet! 😅 Guga
The island of Eluthera was our annual go to holiday for many years. Where Disney has developed was known as Lighthouse beach, a somewhat little known beach to most tourists as it was quite difficult to get to. It was stunning and we often packed a picnic in the car and got as far as we could before trekking in to the beach. Had to stop going as i became dreadfully suseptible to biting fly bites and ended up looking like i had pox! If you find some genuine artwork at the resort, try looking for any originals by Kevin Cooper, a brilliant local artist. Beautiful island and just lovely people. Try coming back for a land vacation you won't be disappointed.
Right. We ended up parking when the road got too bad and hitchhiked to the point when we were there. I can’t believe what Disney did. Eleuthera is such an amazing place.
I think Disney need to figure some details out, lot of comments mention the walk and the flies and those are massive issues. The accessibility is also pretty important.
They definitely need another tram. One dedicated one for the pier, and one of the ones used in the resort to go to the pier for disembarkation when the need is concentrated. They also need resting spaces with benches and sun covers.
Heys guys. Prepared this video quickly. That walk folks are saying is like 1/2 a mile and gotta be on a list for the shuttle. I’d need the tram or shuttle from the ship. 12-15 minutes walk for you is probably an hour for me 🤦♀️. Notice this walkway has railings. Gorgeous water indeed. The loungers in the cabana/villas look thick indeed. Beautiful souvenir shops. 🚲 rentals. Look at the art and Disney woven bags. Arts and crafts too. Oh no. I could never eat that chicken. There was a dead fly l. Some other creators reported the same. The beach 🏖️ is lovely. Nice there is an adult area only as well. The kids waterpark look fun. Well this is the preview cruise so with their amazing customer service; I’m sure they take opinions and suggestions into consideration. Thanks for sharing 🤗
When you said you would be the first ever to be there, I instantly thought of the movie Jurassic Park. I’m only 5 minutes in to the video so I’m going back to watch the rest!
😂 How can this beautiful beach be boring? Sun, sea, sand...everything one needs to get sun-kissed by the Sun goddesses. My honey and I would find a nice hidden spot to take our food, have a picnic, and then snuggle for a nap. Perfection!
Oh my goodness - I can't believe how long that walk was from the ship to the island - you'd have been quicker walking over from Miami, haha! The island looks beautiful - it really does look like Disney have done a lovely job of this!
Glad for this honest review, we are gonna let Disney hopefully improve somethings, the flies mainly! But also if they put covering to shade on the long walkways and walk from the ship that would help. The beaches are absolutely stunning! Well done review
Love the video. That walk to and from the ship could actually be dangerous when it’s so hot outside. People can easily get heat exhaustion. That needs to be the first thing remedied. Also, a room w water spray fans on the island would be very helpful to cool off and go!! Have a great trip guys!!

This is one situation where a tender doesn't look like a bad option
8:05. I can’t be the only one that sees the word hi written in the sky as you were literally saying everybody comes here and says hi. Nice edit!
Thank you for the clarification regarding this not being a private island. You are one of the only ones getting this fact stated accurately. Locals have access to the site in addition to those on the cruise ship.
Also, Princess Cay is on the west side of the island (Eleuthera, Bahamas)
The Bahamian Government is very strict in governing their people. The natives will not be allowed here unless employed. An example of this is Atlantis They are very proud people and we should be grateful they share paradise with others.
It isn’t a private island but they said it is a resort. I don’t think its a public beach
Locals are not allowed to use the Disney area.
@@joyceedwards6112 DCL confirmed non- cruisers who live on the island can access the site and pre-pay for food and drinks (confirmed on preview day). It’s a private port but not a private island based on Disney’s agreement with the Bahamian government.
Its so cool that at 8:06 you say that everyone was saying "Hi" and right as you say that, up in yhe ski there is a cloud that reads, "Hi"! Way cool timing on that one!
The dead fly laying next to the chicken was the cherry on top
While meeting you was a highlight of my cruise, this video just reinforces why I love yall so much. I appreciate your honest reviews and how positive you are. ❤
Thank you for sharing all this … gives us a lot to think about for our next travels. 👍🏽
8:06 So many people saying hi... clouds also say Hi 😆
23:46 that’s how the buffets on Carnival’s Princess Cay was too. The food was COVERED in flies. We just ate on the ship and came back. The walk and the lack of shade for this is a no for me too. Hopefully they can work out the kinks since it is a new location.
Loved, LOVED, the opening Ben! “Lookhouse”! Then, “Concrete work is gorgeous!” You guys are really funny! Love YA!
My God, the turquoise water is out of this world. Also, compared to other private islands, the price of those cabanas is reasonable. Great job, guys. I love your sense of humor
You want turquoise water? Canadian Rockies in Alberta has that.
I want to swim also 😂
Not a private island
The water is so beautiful in person, I went this week on a cruise there and it’s so clear and teal. The sand is also insanely soft.
Are you blind?! The merch looks ugly af😅
I agree! I got one of the hand woven bags and it was so cute.
I have been waiting for the first videos of the island. And you and Ben and David were the first ones I wanted to see because first I love you two guys and the most credible of all the cruise videos.
I don’t cruise Disney, but your comment with the lightning line ….it will come , sure of this! Make me laugh
Great preview and honest statements of problems to be fixed. That pier was way too long w/o shuttles and the flies (shutter) but it is beautiful and that sand and the water took my heart 💙 thank you as always for such great info and tour!
Always a positive comment: long walk but a beautiful view of the ship. You are incredible you guys! Thank you!
Looks beautiful! Really liked your tropical themed shirt.
We have to say we were somewhat surprised Disney didn't shut it down and direct people towards the ship for food.
Realistically every private island should have an option for indoor eating and ac. It’s easy to get overheated and need a spot to cool down
I’ve never watched your videos before, but you’ve just gained a new subscriber. I’ve watched many videos on Lookout Cay and yours is by far the most informative and complete. Thanks for a great overview.
That looks like a prime spot for a monorail "ride" from the ship to the land!!!!!
You guys are fantastic videographer best video on the island I’ve seen so far
Happy to know that the Island is accessible by pier, without having to tender.
Mmm I love a little chicken with my fly. Did you see that one fly doing the backstroke in sauce? Skills!
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Love you guys! You NEVER disappoint in your POV! I love watching all of your videos! You guys have the BEST POV!!! ❤ Great work guys!
Love your reviews. Can't get over all those flys. Back on board I go. I'm blooming starving.
No way can I make that long pier walk. Unbelievable that Disney would think this is a good idea. Somehow I don't think I'm alone.
If you can’t walk for 20 minutes straight you need to go get checked
@@Lkb5555 Did you ever consider there may be senior citizens and disabled persons who cannot walk for long periods of time???
@Lkb5555 If you're paying $7k a ticket, they better shuttle you.
I totally agree
@@Lkb5555 most who cant walk 20 minutes straight will more than likely been checked and fully aware why they can't walk 20 minutes. Absolute ignorant comment
LMAO David wanting an electric fence to keep the kids out, too funny, tears running, hugs.
This island would be a perfect resort for a solo traveller and/or someone looking for a total chill out experience without having to deal with screaming children or mad parties
Me!😂
From the lineup to the long walk in the blazing sun to the tiny drinks stand for all those people.
Very Disney and the stuff of my nightmares
Oh, and $1500 for shelter...
I loved the tour. Very helpful…I will be there in November.
It all looks very clinical
I must say how much I appreciate how positive and respecting you both are towards acknowledging the Bahamian culture on the island! Of course you do point out the the pros and cons of the island, but in a way that's different from some of the more negative vloggers. Happy cruising to you both!
I love seeing the island through your point of view ❤❤❤
@@marias902I doubt you’d be able to afford DCL anyways
You guys crack me up! I love watching your videos. Your island cruise was to Disney was my favorite.
Ben talking about wanting to be shrunk down to live in the ice cream LOL! Love you guys!
“Not a chance in hell I’m eating any of that”. Says Ben. My favorite line of the video. Every time a fly lands, it vomits its stomach acid so it can get ready to start digesting what it has landed on. 🤮
I did not need to know that 😢
Ben won’t eat chicken with a fly in it but he’ll slobber all over David’s Mandingo
HYSTERICALLY FUNNY!
Thanks for taking us with you on another fun adventure! Can't wait to see where you go next!
You guys rock! Love all your videos! Entertaining and informative. Cute couple
Thanks so much!!
Overall, the island looks beautiful…I may wait a year to let Disney work the kinks out Ben and David, we appreciate all you do
18:18 The BBC programme 'Edwardian Farm' was filmed at/by Morwellham Quay which is also pronounced KEY 😁
Disney need to install beach mates for the wheelchairs.
It was so great to meet you guys! Thank you for taking time to say hello! ❤
Love your authenticity … you didn’t try to post 1st ..your video has facts the best things take time
Thank you
Thankyou, we definitely wanted to put a high quality video out and it takes time.
Thats cool how Disney keeps that small bit of local feel. I always hated on Disney until my GF took me to Disney World. I get it now.
This is what keeps us from Caribbean cruising - that long hot walk down the pier. And the only ports that seem to have trams are the ports like Nassau that you don’t actually want to visit.., Too, too hot…
Nobody does it better! Thanks ❤
I have never seen anything about a Disney cruise that would make me want to book them
We’ve been seeing some many people post and FINALLY YOU GUYS ARE UP. 🎉❤ Legit refreshed every few hours
They definitely need another tram. One dedicated one for the pier, and one of the ones used in the resort to go to the pier for disembarkation when the need is concentrated.
They also need resting spaces with benches and sun covers.
That beach reminded me of Australia. Absolutely stunning. As usual, loved the video and love you guys. 😃
Incredible review guys. Honest but fair. You made me want to go there. Just heaven.
Thank you for this great review of the new Outlook Cay. ❤😊 We can’t wait to visit the island.
Princess has a resort on Eleuthera also. It’s a lovely island. 😎🇨🇦😎
When you said you would be the first ever to be there, I instantly thought of the movie Jurassic Park. I’m only 5 minutes in to the video so I’m going back to watch the rest!
Is it me or does that island look kinda boring...
And how is that different from Castaway Cay?
I agree. But for Disney fanatics that's all that matters!
I agree!
Not to me, it has everything you need for a nice beach day
😂 How can this beautiful beach be boring? Sun, sea, sand...everything one needs to get sun-kissed by the Sun goddesses. My honey and I would find a nice hidden spot to take our food, have a picnic, and then snuggle for a nap. Perfection!
thank you for all your hard work and energy. we are big fans of your content! wonderful vlog.
happy crusin'
Oh my goodness - I can't believe how long that walk was from the ship to the island - you'd have been quicker walking over from Miami, haha!
The island looks beautiful - it really does look like Disney have done a lovely job of this!
Holey moley! That’s about 15,000 steps. They should put the bike rentals at the ship.
Great idea!!
Ben I LOVE your polo shirts. And David aways rocking them hats. Great job.
That sand! That water! That pier! 😊❤
Does not make up for disgusting food.
Hello Ben & David lovely island resort i would find that walk a challenge no shade they need mini train to take those that are seniors .It will be better when the trees grow for shade.
