- We have a LG Washing Machine and the door catch operating handle broke. This is the method I used to replace the handle. It doesn’t require moving the washing machine out of position but do unplug the machine from the mains power supply before attempting any repair. I don’t say it’s the best way or the proper way, but it worked ok for me. There are plenty of other videos that cover the same topic. I’m no authority on the subject but just and ordinary person having a go at fixing things I think within my capabilities. Thanks for the helpful video. The one bit of advice I would add is that, when refitting the cover, the two halves should be held apart by the door spring which ought to be trapped between them, providing tension (as you demonstrated with your thumb early in the video). It’s quite easy to join the two halves of the cover together without trapping the spring in the right place, leading to a floppy handle. Otherwise, a dead simple job.
Where is the right place to trap the spring please? I've tried replacing mine but it's flappy
@@ejovwokejoanna711 I'm afraid I don't remember. Reading my comment, I can only suggest you watch the video and look out for the bit I referred to where he applies tension with his thumb - hopefully it'll be a bit clearer. Good luck with the floppy handle 😊

Thank you so much from Australia, I used this to fix my LG WD12021D6. The only issue was when I was putting the door back on, I found I need to have the two screws near the spring tight, and the hinge area loose with no screws on mine. Apart from that all the detailed shots are fantastic.

Thanks so much for the video. Just done this repair on my machine. LG1456QD. Looks identical to yours. Hardest bit was trying to work out how the spring and lever all went together!

I removed the hinge. Now I can't put it back because the bolt is not holding anymore.
In the video I chose NOT to remove the HINGE BOLTS because I had/have no idea how the bolts were/are retained and I did mention my fears about what might happen. Captive nuts and fasteners are used extensively in the Automotive and White Goods industries and are notorious for moving or dropping out of alignment when taking things apart. This sometimes adds to the problem of reassembly, especially where access is an issue. I guess the nut has dropped off the back and is inside the machine somewhere. It happens even to the most experienced.
Many thanks for posting your experience of the problem you had by removing the hinge bolt. A salutary warning for us all!
@@colemanus1318 There was a plate behind the hinge and was dropped. I opened up the top panel and used a magnet with stick to recover it. Now I fixed the door back.

By this video i broked my glass... He din't showed how to secure the glass. Mean while i went to custm care🤦♂
