    I've got the Big Drak, a Mini, and 2 Nano's, and they're all amazing! They're not cheap, but what is these days.
    Looks like you got a keeper there Andrew.

    Nobody gets it until they fly one. Thankfully, you have a fan willing to give you that opportunity. I've had a large drak in the air for a year. Bought ext wings and boom for it so it's getting a rebuild this winter. I'm a week from having an MD ext boomer ready to maiden. Been saying that for 3 weeks... Won't be a speedster like yours. A 100 kmh loafer that can stay in the air for an hour and travel long range. Tempted to buy another MD kit to fly in its original form so I can scream around at 200 kmh plus. Gotta be a laugh.

      Would you recommend getting the mini drak today? What kind of flight times and speeds were you getting before and after the boom and extended wings upgrade

    I have 2 MDs and they're very capable fliers.

    Regarding the "needs retesting", it might have something to do with being nearly inverted, and then returning to upright while also changing direction, and changing from upwind to downwind, and starting a zesty dive, all at the same time. I doubt the GPS module itself would register 263km/h if that wasn't actually the case, and being inverted doesn't affect them all that much. My guess is iNav is running some kind of smoothing/extrapolation on that km/h number which got a bit confused. The GPS module will be reporting horizontal and vertical velocities as two separate numbers, perhaps iNav is also combining these to show the hypotenuse speed, which would make it higher. Anyway the sudden drop from 226 to 193 as it recovers makes me think that's probably the real value. Still nothing to sneeze at !

      I have seen the exact same GPS responses on a Strix Goblin moving fast and doing maneuvers. Interesting though that you have an explanation for it. I never took the time to think about it that hard! Good work...

    Hi Andrew, pretty sure something is amiss with GPS reception as 260kph or 160+MPH is unlikely on 4s with that motor/prop combo.

    • @jeffhampton8781
      @jeffhampton8781 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have to agree. It looked like the speed readout switched from the 100s to mid 200s and back very quickly. Plus the camera and antenna up on top like that would create a huge amount of drag at speed. Regardless, it was still fast. To get anything over 150mph I usually have to go with 6S and a motor that draws 70 to 100amps or so.

      Phil Irvine- possibly Australia's greatest automotive engineer who designed & developed the Vincent motorcycle engines -once did an article (back in the 40's or 50's) writing under the pen-name of 'Slide Rule' about the 'fastest colour' & declared it to be black & then went on to give his reasons, which I wont go into here...
      BUT, it was confirmed for me when once watching the HQ racing series & a HQ with the rear painted black kept having it's back-end try & overtake the red painted front end causing the car to spin off track multiple times...
      Although some might claim that it IS in fact red as black is not a colour, but a 'tone'....
      Whilst they MAY be technically correct, I call THAT an excuse for being too slow! :v ;)
