    In the case of Fe + Mno4- this case actually Mn lost 2 electrons .so we can write Mn____ mn2+ +2 electrons

    i dont understand h20 and oh both gives O. how are we gonna decide which one to add? and why didnt we add oh to the both sides to make water this time?? it doesnt make sense

      You add OH- to both H2O’s and you don’t add OH because that’s only for a basic redox reaction

      The H+ here is the property of the acidic solution. If for a basic solution, there is OH-. The only different step for a basic and acidic solution is that, after doing all of those steps (you get an acidic solution), you can turn it into basic by adding OH- to both sides of the equation to neutralise the H+ you got after you did the acidic solution. Hope this helps
