I finished this only once around 2008 or 2009.And I had issues with sound. Music did not play and in cut scenes there was no sound at all. Although music fixed by inverstigating sound settings but cut scenes not. So it is really nice to see this game with correct working sound. I also remember that it was the easiest Silent Hill game for me. Right at the beginning somewhere where you find the radio I got a pipe and I one or two hitted 80-90% of enemies with it. Was even stronger like the firefighter axe. So I finished the whole game using only this weapon even at boss fights. And I remember the pyramid head I did not even try to kill because he looked so strong to me and after a while the water was gone and I did run away through the door. My ending was the wife is turning into a monster and I had to kill her. Therefore looking forward when I come to the end of this video to see the ending of this long play
Big kudos for what I believe is a pretty much perfect way of doing a let's play of this game. You take the time to read, you let music play out, you pause at significant moments, you actually let the story breathe. I can't play this myself with what I have available, so having this as a way to experience SH2 again is such a luxury. Big kudos and big thanks! And yea, still as a grown man the last line of the letter hits like a gut punch. Tears and all. Hell, in some ways I felt like it hit even harder now.
SH2 is a game that took me out. My first playthrough was in 2021 (a couple months before this video) and man… it caught me off guard. I’m not really into horror games but I’ve listened to the music from this game for years. So I finally played it and it left an impact on me. A good one. The monsters terrified me at first but as you go on you become less afraid and more confident to take them on. The music has to many ranges of emotions, it’s honestly incredible. And the story it tells… that is what I was not expecting. It hit me and even now talking about and thinking back to that emotional letter which even the voice actress started crying when she was reading because it was so powerful. Just what an amazing game this is. After I played through it I wanted to share my emotions of what I felt (without commentary lol) and play it with the respect it deserves. I know to some they may say it’s just a game but it’s more than that. It’s an experience. Finally I’m getting around to saying what I meant to say to you, but thank you. Seriously. Your words really made me smile and get a little emotional cause I put a lot of effort in and I’m so happy you had the desired outcome I sought out when making this video. And man… I cried my eyes out at that letter too. It’s just wow… It’s one of the few times a video game was ever able to hit me so hard but in a really good way. Thank you for watching and sharing your experience!
@@LoopyLongplays Eyyy, glad to hear it man! And yea, it's something else. Quite frankly, after the initial shock value the monsters didn't so much scare me as unsettle me. Mostly because I felt sorry for them. Just something about how they move and sound.
Its so good watching a playthrough that's not someone sprinting through the entire game and wasting the gorgeous aptmoshere and town of silent hill. Great job!!
Playing this game for the first time feels so heavy. The creepy yet beautiful soundtrack, the attachment to the characters and the clunky controls. Never experienced that sense of dread in a videogame before.
roughly an hour into this love the little interactions we get with the person playing the game with the nodding and shaking their head when mistakens happen or when they get something
FINALLY a SH2 long play that's ACTUALLY long: not sprinting from one key area to another. Half the fun of this game is soaking up the atmosphere and any long play less than 6 hours feels wildly rushed. Now I've got one that fits my whole workday, thanks Loopy!
Literally one of the best games ever. The first three are masterpieces and a MUST play every year. I am prepared for the tears. Im guessing you will go for the Leave Ending; In Water Ending is my favourite. Thanks for this video Loopy ♡
I just got around to playing it last month and wow did it blow me away. I rarely ever get emotional in games. Gears 3 and Telltale's walking dead come to mind. Other than that though, I can't think of many others. Needless to say I wept like a baby during that letter. What a sad but brilliantly well written story this game tells and what an ending. And yes I got the leave ending, it's my favorite out of the 4 main ones. Water is a close second though.

I'd strongly recommend the remake now that you've seen the original, it remains very faithful and I'd argue one ending even adds to the In Water ending in a way that is so, so heartbreaking. While nothing can quite beat the original SH2, the remake does a beautiful job at holding up to it.

Good video mostly! Dunno why everytime it gives you the option to do something you always arbitrarily say no a few times first, it's maddening to watch
They really ruined Angela, Maria in the remake. You know why Angela acts like that, like a child basically, because she's regressing. The modern audience aka a wider audience is too stupid to understand this stuff so it would not sell as well because they think it's solely bad acting or whatever.
Holy shit the pretentiousness of your comment gave me goosebumps from pure cringe. If you need to introduce an argument with a flavor of “everyone is too stupid to understand true art”, trust me when I say your life is going to fucking suck for a long time by fault of your own hubris.
@@grimfist79 Thanks. I don't know why you made this pointless comment unless you are offended for some reason, hmm what could that reason be. Maybe I'm smart, or maybe those who don't get it, even after playing the original, are dumb and apathetic.
... yeah just came back from watching the remake; it's a waste of time, stick with the original. This is art, the remake is just technology and it has lost the nuance and atmosphere.
You’re so strong and brave for shitting on a remake you likely forced yourself to hate because your predictable personality can’t spark enough brain neurons to have any other original thought.

Damn it, James why you didn't read the whole letter in the first place 😂
1:51:07 I don't remember that 😂😳
Also I love the ending xoxox
i just played the remake and it was so good i want to play the original, how can i install it?
Maybe with an Emulator?
Играйте. Наслаждайтесь оригиналом. Почувствуйте разницу.

Good video mostly! Dunno why everytime it gives you the option to do something you always arbitrarily say no a few times first, it's maddening to watch

please tell me the soundtrack at the beginning of the video 0:00
They really ruined Angela, Maria in the remake. You know why Angela acts like that, like a child basically, because she's regressing. The modern audience aka a wider audience is too stupid to understand this stuff so it would not sell as well because they think it's solely bad acting or whatever.
Cool story bro. You are sooo smart. Like really really smart....😅

No. You are the problem
can anyone help i’m not sure where the next objective is how do i find it?
Which part are you at? Sometimes things can be marked on the map as where to go

Why does nobody ever use the chainsaw?
How come from remake?
Anyone here after seeing the remake??
For me, silent hill without Alessa, Midwich school, Church, Sirens, Nightmare transitions and Cheryl isn't silent hill
For me you're not a SH fan...
@@Abyssalfrequencies I don't remember saying I'm a fan
Как фанат игры с 24 летним стажем полностью поддерживаю Ваше мнение @VitorKimuraYT ❤
Anybody here after trying to watch a playthrough of the remake? The new one just not hitting the same. No where near as creepy.
classic
Did you turn the music off?
Silent hill ii #tactical iphone 13 edition.
Remake is perfect!!!!💯💯💯
No, the original is perfect, the remake is only almost tied with it, not completely tied with it. The remake has stuff censored out which is wrong.
3:28:37 😂😂😂
... yeah just came back from watching the remake; it's a waste of time, stick with the original. This is art, the remake is just technology and it has lost the nuance and atmosphere.
how about you play the remake instead lol it's actually good. completely different experience than watching it.
@@yeezy4743it’s not the same… this is more terrifying
a bit pretentious no?
You’re so strong and brave for shitting on a remake you likely forced yourself to hate because your predictable personality can’t spark enough brain neurons to have any other original thought.
This Is Remake?
No
4:45:47 😮😂
Perturbador !
Algum brasileiro aqui ???
In the remake you would stand no chance fighting him in that tiny area the first time you fight him. Also the acting is atrocious in the OG 😂
Jesus the voice acting in the remake is infinitely better than this. This is god awful acting
Spoken like a true zoomer who only plays remake games because they prefer every game to be like the last of us 😂
Римейк убил атмосферу и душу сайлент хилла 2.Оригинал - шедевр. Никакой римейк не сравнится с ним.
Dude this game is old no shit the voice acting isn’t great BUT THATS NOT WHY WERE HERE IS IT.
Wrong. So wrong.
