Found this knife today when getting a fishing license. Was very excited to see a knife to beat on when camping!

Ironically I bought this knife today and I said to myself let’s see if there’s a TH-cam video review on it and BAM!
I paid $20 for it at Walmart and was shocked at how cheap it was. Then I said I wonder if there’s a sheaf included and BAM! Then I held it and saw the plastic retention insert and thought very nice. The knife itself is badass looking and hefty too.
Back to your very cool video, you showed all the bush crafting techniques we’ve all seen in videos and it performed beautifully. The heck with spending $100-$200 for a knife to beat on with a stick. I can buy five to ten of these but I think I’m only gonna need just this one. Thanks brother 😎

Inside the nylon sheath is a full length plastic one. I cut the nylon sheath off and now have a very low profile plastic carry sheath with retention.

Just bought one for a work beater. I build decks, so cutting open bags of concrete, Digging, hacking roots and plants, cutting metal straps, opening screw buckets, cutting shims, prying, lifting, scraping, chiseling will all be in it's repertoire. I'll let ya know how it holds up.

Surprisingly enough it's not truly a knockoff in the regular sense. OT actually paid for a license from Buck to reproduce the design at a lower tier price point in China with a step down in materials (yet still perfectly solid with good fit and finish). That's why they haven't been sued for it.

I've had one of these for a while. One thing I read someone saying that Walmart or the factory in China bought or licensed the design of the Buck Reaper to produce. So I don't know if that's quite a knockoff? ANyways, I've owned one of these for a while. I've used it a couple times to break down some firewood and tinder mostly. The edge seems to hold up pretty well. I did do some sharpening on mine even though it's decent out of the box. The sheath is borderline amazing lol!

Oh and also, have you checked out the Camillius knives they sell for $10? I actually really like that knife a lot. I own two of those. The sheath isn't as nice but it does the job. The handle is great, it holds an edge well enough also. They aren't in the regular knife section usually, but over in the camping stuff with the hatchets and machetes.

I know it's for looks, but I still think it's kind of weird when manufacturers decide to coat a stainless knife.
I agree that is a pretty good sheath.

Removing it off the spine will make striking a ferro rod much better though if that's something you're interested in.
