I know how you feel, Kay; I’m also about to leave a home of 25 years and am doing so with a very heavy heart (and the world’s most nervous cat). Trying to reframe the stress and thinking about all the positives, beautiful new area to explore, curating a new living space, but it’s a LOT. Crazy when you think of the amount of time it takes to complete all the legal stuff in the UK and then all of a sudden it’s go, go, go. I wish you well in your new home. 🏠 ❤

O my hat, what a shock to watch your video, had no idea you were planning to move, you kept your secret surprise very well hidden. I know the emotions you are going through, our first family home was so so special to us, also where we got married from, our beautiful kiddies were born and all the fun memories we had over the years. Leaving the garden was heart wrenching. That being said it was 6 years ago and we absolutely love our new home from the minute we moved in. So enjoy this new season, you will create another beautiful garden and create even bigger and more beautiful memories ❤

Moving is always bittersweet for me.
I still miss my old apartment sometimes, the view and a big windows, huge terrace, neighbourhood... but every home has it's own charm and memories, now we have much more space and a house with garden.
I am sure that you will love your new home, can't wait to see the process of decorating 😊.
Btw, your cottage is very similar to my grandparents house, especially garden❤

Oh my goddness this gave me anxiety! I was imagining if I ever had to move. We live on a large property with two houses, one for my elderly parents and one for myself, partner and son. Between us we have four big sheds full to the brim, my art studio in the garden and a loft all rammed with the clutter and bits and pieces of five people collected over a life-time! I would never be able to get out in a hurry! Such a difficult task moving but so nice getting to the new house and finding new places to organize everything and it's a great opportunity to de-clutter along the way. Huge good luck for the move, I'm sure it will all go great for you.
You are such a nice person to do all that cleaning. I have to admit I just thought that was normal being a renter for so long before a homeowner so when we sold our first home I cleaned it like I wanted my deposit back 😂. Went to the new house and it was manky!!! Layers of dust on skirting boards, even a plant that hadn’t been moved for so long it’s leaves had grown into the plasterboard so we have random leaves stuck inside the walls and dead flies all over the floor. I was honestly so devastated to have spent a whole day cleaning my home to then have to do it all again the next day. So good for you for cleaning the oven and repainting walls and filling holes. That honestly is going above and beyond.

Hi Kay firstly you’ve left your lovely cottage so nice and clean for the new owners.Will be sad not to see your beautiful garden anymore but you will have so much to look forward to in your new home and won’t take long before it feels like home.We moved from our little first home with a 1 year old and another of two and a half it was chaotic but soon became their childhood home.Good luck with the move and thank you for sharing your journey with us xx

Oh good luck Kay, it's always hard to leave your home, I have moved four times in my life and trust me every time I moved I did the same thing like you did, I recorded the house empty just for memory. Now in our fourth home we are happy and have been in it for the past 17 years. Wishing you all happiness in your new home!!❤❤❤❤

Totally know the feeling. Long long wait, then really short notice. Moved hundreds of miles after 50+ years in the same house. Decluttered, downsized. Still doesn’t feel like home, but it’s only been a few months. Wish you well in your new home.

Ah Kay. Aside from having a little one, I can totally relate to this video. My hubby and I moved 2 years ago and we completed and exchanged on the same day... yep, stressful. We picked up our keys at 7pm and, I just can't describe that feeling. I wish you and your little family all the very best in your new home xxx
