P-51D Mustang 1/72 scale plastic model kit by ACADEMY

- Saw this kit at one of the model shop I frequent, I always wanted to build a P-51 Mustang and it cheap, its 1/72 scale it's small so don't expect details. there is no good worlds about Academy kit, so why not give it a try if it didn't turn ou well then it will go into the trash maybe
I didn't know that you could use the Zippo to clean excess Panel Line, what a great method.
That's very excellent work there as well.
I have also made similar model kits as well long time ago. I have only used the decals for the Yugoslav air force as well.

hello! I like your build! What color you used to made anti-glare panel?
Actually I made a mistake I accidentally spray Metallica black on to the silver paint, coz I’m using a Tamiya spray can. Somehow the cap was switch instead of a clear coat to seal in the decal. It’s too late to clean up. That’s the effect haha
I have this kit also...going to seat it soon!
And the nose decals are put on completely wrong ! The red line goes around the wing root and the name goes on top of it .

The D model is not a good mold, the P-51C that they have is much better in accuracy look.
I know that it is unfashionable to be honest on social media but I think you made a complete arse of this . Everything was going reasonably well until you went crazy with the Panel Wash . After that the whole model looked as if it had been daubed with bitumen .
Shame .
