Glad you liked it, Steve. Beynac was my favorite stone river-side hill-town in the Dordogne region of France - which we also hope to return to some year as there is so many more villages and caves to see. Beynac castle was also amazing. Take care and enjoy your week! 😀👍

@@HaswellTravelled Oh thank you so much! I subbed to you already after watching this video.. I will watch some more of your France videos shortly :) I was expecting you to say it was well outside of peak season that you travelled given how quiet it looked!

This region is off the popular beaten tourist path - not as well known as others. Thanks for the sub - much appreciated 😀
Hello there! Glad you liked it. It was very early in the morning, maybe 7 or 8 AM. My wife and I are early risers and had a long drive that day after walking through Baynac. We found it common for these villages and especially "old town" neighborhoods in France to not wake up until 11 am or noon. Thanks for the response 😊 I’m trying to plan our first trip to France for this October (maybe September) and are looking for another region to split our time with Paris. I was looking at Dordogne and Provence but it looks like Dordogne is winning. We love to hike/bike casually. Hi. My wife and I hope to return to the Dordogne region - has many sites we didn't see on our short stay. We loved our short time there, and also visited prehistoric cave paintings as I mentioned in my Les Eyses video. We are not hikers, but there is a fair amount of hiking and canoe/kayaking options. This is one site I found: walkingdordogne.com/ My original information on the Dordogne area was from Rick Steve's France book, also available in most libraries. BTW, my wife's most memorable visit in Dordogne was a side trip to Maison Forte de Reignac. You can find all my Dordogne videos here: th-cam.com/play/PLirieR7uMjsjHcgY8y_0sG3HPnJ97ezub.html If you go to Beynac, be sure too check out the castle on top of the cliff - truly medieval amazing inside.
Hi there! Not many people were around because it was early in the morning - maybe 8AM. My wife and I are early risers, but people in Europe tend to not be. We found in many old towns a local café not to open until 11AM. Fortunately here in Baynac the hotel was open and we could have a coffee before walking around. We couldn't stay long as we had to drive back to Bordeaux. I would love to return to Baynac some year. Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching, stay safe and take care 😀👍

My original information on the Dordogne area was from Rick Steve's France book, also available in most libraries. BTW, my wife's most memorable visit in Dordogne was a side trip to Maison Forte de Reignac. You can find all my Dordogne videos here: th-cam.com/play/PLirieR7uMjsjHcgY8y_0sG3HPnJ97ezub.html

Why is not people in this towns?
