Reavis, I have had a pocket knife since I was 12yo. Never leave the house without one. I now carry my dad's Case as remembrance with me. And yes a sharp one works great as a scraper. :)
You got me hooked watching you fix your tractor. Brings back a lot of fond memories of watching my Daddy fix things. I remember those oil cans. Oh Lordy, the things we grew up with are now antiques.
Going back to take old videos. Thank you for the help today. Looking at this video their is a difference in the sediment bowl that i removed today. Thank y'all again and have a blessed day.
Nice. I used to love watching my Dad work on things brings back good memories. I even told a plumber once he wasn’t doing something right. He thanked me because he hadn’t worked on one like mine. lol He asked how I knew told him my dad had worked on it. My Dad seemed to always need an a tea hand. Thanks for sharing. May God Bless you and Miss Wanda.
Yeah Danny that is a very nice and cool oil can, and I need one badly. Know how or where I can get one for my Cub. Appreciate it. Railroad men used these on trips out and back to keep oiling up the old old locomotive steam engine trains.
Your craftsmanship continues to astound me. I absolutely love every one of these restoration videos.♥️ My first, and ENORMOUS Cherokee Purple tomato finally began to blush, yesterday! I'll send you a picture!! God bless you both.
Great tip on the "swelling the nut" tip. Not heard of that one and will take that with me. I am quite a few years younger than you but I do know a bunch of old school tips but never heard that one.
I have a couple antique oil cans I have a pump one like that and one you turn over and press on the bottom and the metal flexes back and forth but I got them from a estate sale from a old Mans shop
I really appreciate your videos. Each one is a wealth of information. Thank you Danny. I just ordered some Int'l Harvester Red Spray paint 12oz. from Walmart. $6.98/can. They'll deliver for free in two days. Just in case you get into a bind getting it elsewhere.
My son and I have restored 3 Farmall’s and a Massey Ferguson so I love the cub videos. Whenever we got around to hooking up the lights we found that they need a good clean ground. One of the other things we ran into is that most of the reproduction parts are made in China or India. We had one new sediment bowl that didn’t completely shut off the fuel and another one the little wing that you turn fell off after a few times of using it.
Looks really nice!! I hate those spray paint cans that have a tough spray nozzle. It’ll end up irritating the nerve in your index finger and making the tip of your finger numb for awhile.
i had the same problem with paint can;;;my sweet lady got a spray paint can holder for me when getting more paint;;lol;;;now i don't start without one;;;more control and less fatigue;;;good one;;;like what ya have done;;;looks good;;;colored wires ok but think i would have gone red to match paint on tractor;;lol;;;lets see some more;;
Tractor supply sells more modern versions of those oil cans. I have one like that one you have from my father in law. I also have the old push button oil cans from my grand dad as well. The just can that you press on the bottom of it. I'm 39 and keep an oil can around for things like the tractor as well as other stuff I need to put oil on.
Danny i found that same oil can 1 year ago on amazon with 4 left because my needs were 2 different grades of oil for upkeep still have my fathers that he bought in 65 marked as H and L so i would know the heavy weight oil when needed
On the paint From what I have read Ace hardware has IH red. I think they have it in their own paint from what I have read in forums. They can order it if they don't have it. It's either Rust-Oleum or Ace brand. Also Agrisupply sells several brands of IH Red I believe. The Majic brand and another one I believe.
I got to look in and do you know there are actually Facebook pages about cub farm all. Must be a thing. You reminded me of my daddy. He was so OCD about everything. But by the time he was done with a project it was always better than New. I will never work on a Cub Farmall but it was definitely interesting watching you do it. That is one beautiful tractor.
LoL I actually have the other paint. I went to college for automotive and body repair. Painted hundred's of vehicles and 18 wheelers. I just don't have a room to spray it in.
Danny, I dont know if you are familiar with plastic conduit or not. You can get it in multitude of sizes and put it over your yellow wires on the headlights. It'll dress up the wiring real nice and probably seal the new rubber grommets you put on. Looks like a new factory built tractor now. Oh, you can get the flexible conduit at about any parts store or Harbor Freight had it too. Just a thought.
Good morning. That red paint.. yours looks like a richer red .. maybe more saturated than the one already painted on it. Maybe because it's wet? I have a gardening question - which didn't seem appropriate on the last video. Picture a cucumber plant.. with some decent vines.. what eats just the end leaves off a vine.. leaving the close to the center leaves, fruit, blossoms and the tendrils that hook themselves on the fence to hold itself off the ground alone?
The Lord works in mysterious ways. For the past three years i have ben growing a garden out of plant pots and i have ben a failure most of the time and this year i failed again. But today a miracle has happen. Last year i grew some tomato plants that did not do so well and this year i decided to grow some carrots and again not doing so good this year. Well as i was taking out the trash to the curb to be picked up i went to rinse my hand off from the outside spigot and what i saw right next to me was a tomato plant growing out from the crack of the house foundation were there is nothing but concrete no soil and the plant is healthy with tomatoes on the plant. I thought it was just a weed growing there but this plant no one was taking care of it except the hands of God. I made a video about it to prove the truth.
I am currently working on a old Farmall Cub and I would like to paint it. I was wondering what kind of paint you use to paint for tractor? And do you use spray paint of normal paint to paint the Farmall?
Good morning Danny, I was hoping you would bondo that dent while you were sanding the hood! My OCD! I bondoed the fender on my massey after beating out some dents so it would look a little better. I am having trouble with the lights and gauges too, front and back. Dang Lucas electrics. I am not restoring mine, just getting it to look a little better and be field reliable. I liked the contrast of the black lights, just me. I went with cherry red because it was what I could find. WWG1WGA MAGA GOD BLESS GOD SPEED GOD WINS.
This is not in relation to this video, but to gardening. How do you keep bugs from eating your garden plants? The grasshoppers have destroyed my corn and greens, and I don't want to spay food we will eat with harmful pesticides. Please help with any info.
This is one of the reasons for us starting to use high tunnels better insect control without having to spray. What's outside we do a lot of picking insect's off by hand a couple times a day.
Personally, i would of done the screen insert, because something would bridge that hole and I’d be left in the field. I would at least roll a piece of coarse screen and stuck it in the hole and pinched the top with pliers.
It's almost going to be a shame to use the tractor for everyday chores when you are finished. I had to laugh about your straightening the lights out because I cannot even ignore a crooked picture on the wall. I have to move it straight.
I’m loving Wanda’s tractor kitchen. Lol
FINALLY! Someone else knows a knife is a tool! People at my shop can't understand why I use a Case pocket knife as a scraper!😂😂
Mine is used for everything.
Reavis, I have had a pocket knife since I was 12yo. Never leave the house without one. I now carry my dad's Case as remembrance with me. And yes a sharp one works great as a scraper. :)
In the old barn on our property we found an old oil can like that.
Good morning from Alabama! I hope y’all have a good productive day! Blessings!
I am enjoying the cub restoration videos. Thank you.
You got me hooked watching you fix your tractor. Brings back a lot of fond memories of watching my Daddy fix things. I remember those oil cans. Oh Lordy, the things we grew up with are now antiques.

Good day Danny! Garry from The Ole Church 5 Acre Homestead watching from Gander Newfoundland and Labrador Canada!
I just got my Grandpa's 1949 Farmall Cub that I will be restoring. I'm sure these videos will be useful for me in the future.
That Cub is going to run another 100 years when you're through!
I sure hope so.
We always learn so much from you Danny and Wanda.. when we do something we just got to do it right. huh
Wanda is going to need to change her sign to Danny’s Tractor Shop. Love watching the tractor become new again.
You should mount a seat on the back for Wanda and take it to the parades. You'll have the most fun you ever had. Guaranteed
Wow...the color matches perfectly... Awesome ❤️ job!
Love that oil can!☺
Your 1950 Cub Farmall restoration really looks nice I love that Red ♥️🍒 Color👌
I can’t begin to tell you how much I love watching this series!
That's a very cool antique oil can! Very neat!
Yeah Danny that is a very nice and cool oil can, and I need one badly. Know how or where I can get one for my Cub. Appreciate it. Railroad men used these on trips out and back to keep oiling up the old old locomotive steam engine trains.
I really really enjoyed watching this video because it’s right up my alley. Thanks I will definitely be watching for more if these videos.
That’s awesome to see where the rotary spot welder put the gas tank seam together.
Your craftsmanship continues to astound me. I absolutely love every one of these restoration videos.♥️ My first, and ENORMOUS Cherokee Purple tomato finally began to blush, yesterday! I'll send you a picture!! God bless you both.
Awesome.
Looking good Danny, looking good!
I have seen those old oil cans in peoples garages throughout my life lol funny never seen one be used ill b waiting for the next tractor vid ❤❤🥰😁
Great tip on the "swelling the nut" tip. Not heard of that one and will take that with me. I am quite a few years younger than you but I do know a bunch of old school tips but never heard that one.
Would love to watch progress on high tunnel too 😊
If this was a movie, Danny’s knife would get third billing 😄
Beautiful antique! Blessings, julie
They sell a clip on sprayer to attach to spray cans and make it easier to spray paint
Coming along nicely Danny.
The Sun is shining ☀️
For a few minutes.
I have a couple antique oil cans I have a pump one like that and one you turn over and press on the bottom and the metal flexes back and forth but I got them from a estate sale from a old Mans shop
Great job ,Looking good,God Bless
Danny, the tractor is looking even more beautiful! Good job, Buddy. I can’t wait to see what you will do to it next!! ♥️❣️🙏🏼❣️♥️
Wheres the canner ??? Couldn't resist. Lol... tractor is going to be a show stopper...
That's gonna look beautiful ❤️
They make a handy handle that clips on spray cans that make it much easier to control. Then you use it like a body shop sprayer.
Awesome 🙏
When my tractor supply didn't have what I needed in the store. I was able to order it online and pick it up from the store for free shipping.
nice video I just picked up a 1951 cub. find your videos helpful.
Glad I could help
It's going to be awesome when you're finished. I think if cub had LED lights available back then that they would have used them.
Never would have known what those holes where for. Not sure of the OCD, but rather you want it right!!!! Hope you have a great day!!!
That's true I want it right more than anything else.
Nice video!
Awesome love it
Looks great nice job

I noticed some of the plow parts I ordered was from china.
Danny, love your vids. Just wanted to mention that Ace Hardware carries a larger can of IH red.
you should use the yellow teflon tape that is fuel compatible
Looks really nice!! I hate those spray paint cans that have a tough spray nozzle. It’ll end up irritating the nerve in your index finger and making the tip of your finger numb for awhile.

You can probably knock out the little hood dent with a rubber mallet
Is the charging system working properly now?
It's all being redone.
Danny i found that same oil can 1 year ago on amazon with 4 left because my needs were 2 different grades of oil for upkeep still have my fathers that he bought in 65 marked as H and L so i would know the heavy weight oil when needed
Those old farmalls are workhorses. Yours is going to be like it just rolled out of the factory when you finish.
I'm trying.
TSC carries those oil cans

You don't have ocd too bad or you'd be using case ih 2150 paint with hardener
LoL I actually have the other paint. I went to college for automotive and body repair. Painted hundred's of vehicles and 18 wheelers. I just don't have a room to spray it in.

That will be in upcoming videos.
Should have used Pipe Joint paste for Fuel, it will leak through the Teflon tape.
I guess i do have some sort of OCD myself, cause I would’ve peeled that gasket off and turned it.

Grasshopper are bad about doing that.
@@DeepSouthHomestead okiedokie.. I haven't seen many of them.. but now my eyes will be pealed for them. thank you
@@DeepSouthHomestead I found out it's a couple of mockingbirds munching on my garden.. and they take it really personally when I run them off
Off subject, Miss Wanda I'm excited. I asked for a freeze dryer to be put on lay away for me for my birthday. Do you have a code for affiliate?

Just an FYI white teflon tape is not gas approved. You need the yellow teflon tape.
Sand blasting
Don't have one.
👍

Gromlet
Should have used automotive aluminum oxide sandpaper. It is a dark grey not tan like that you used.
Yeah it's all I had on hand.
Looks like it was jerry-rigged but it work. LoL
Convert that thing to electric with lithium ion batteries four wheel hub motors
LoL
danny...itrs a farmall cub....not cub farmall whew.. lol
