Resistance is only getting two seasons for a lot of different reasons: 1. It wasn't performing that great in ratings and feedback. Not saying that people hated it or it wasn't watched, but it's certainly not as popular as their previous shows. 2. Resistance is on Disney Channel, and it seems that all Star Wars TV is now moving to Disney+ 3. It actually seems pretty natural that this story would end after 2 seasons, especially with where we sit at the timeline, as I don't think they'd want to go beyond The Rise of Skywalker. Who knows, perhaps a 2 season run was the plan from the beginning?
IDK. I think they probably could have done more with the series beyond tying it into the movies. That always felt like a mandate from the higher ups, to me. "We did the same thing with Rogue One during Rebels and everyone loved it! Let's do it again here, but this time for a bigger movie!" This is actually the first I've heard of Resistance ending after Season 2. Had they not so closely tied it to the events of the movies, maybe made that a Season 4 occurrence or something, I think it could have done well.
I go against #1 because I do not give criticisms about Resistance. It was an awesome show. Even though a lot of clumsy and goofiness in almost every episodes, I liked it. Some were ok, some were good, and some were awesome. But, it seems like Star Wars fans really hate Resistance. I like both #2 and #3 because it seems like Disney is focusing on the Disney+ for upcoming shows and Idk what they are going to do on the DisneyNow app. And I’m not sure that back at Celebration 2019 Chicago, Star Wars did not reveal Resistance Season 2 as the final season because it could scare us. It’s possibly that Resistance Season 2 is scary and they didn’t want to reveal it. What do you think? Do you think the director or writers of Resistance did not want to reveal Resistance Season 2 as the final season at Star Wars Celebration? And yeah, Resistance Season 2 is about to either kill off major protagonists or they will survive and meet up the Resistance. Season 2 is going to put the final pieces together that will lead to the events of The Rise of Skywalker.
Two reasons: 1.They delved too much into the kiddy realm. I know people love to tout that Star Wars is for kids but a good chunk of its audience are older kids, teens and adults. There's a reason why TCW and even Rebels were so popular and that's because they didn't go too far into the kiddy realm with tone. I'll keep up with whats happening in the show, since it's canon, but I usually come to this channel to get my info on what I should know. 2. The sequel era has not been doing good and as such The toys aren't selling well either. I remember reading how Young Justice was cancelled because they weren't selling enough toys despite it being a good show. If the Star Wars films aren't moving toys then I doubt the shows will move any either. At the end of the day that is pretty much what it is.
I’m glad you guys are hopeful that it was a story decision. I see a lot of people saying “Star Wars is dead” and “Kids don’t like Star Wars” and it really disheartens me how many people are seemingly turning their backs on Star Wars.. I feel like if it’s not story it’s a marketing failure. I first heard of Resistance from you when there was just a teaser title card, and I haven’t seen any trailers outside of TH-cam. And like you mentioned, there’s the 10PM time slot
I dunno most of them kinda turned their backs on the fans. Unlike mlp who embraced with pride the whole brony thing. Here you can't criticize without being called a manbaby. Those who didi violent or rude things yeah sure they are a problem. But every fandom has those. But I personally don't care to keep up with this story and only liked up to Rogue one and Rebels
Where I live they scheduled new episodes for the second season Sundays at 5 PM, which isn’t terrible but is still an inconvenient time slot when you think about it.

Each time that "Duel of Fates" is used in the prequels, it accompanies a dark sider making a bold action that would cast a dark shadow moving forward. It's a sign of the dark side becoming prominent, revealing itself openly, and it happens through deliberate action. Maul's open antagonism against the Jedi in the Battle of Naboo, Anakin giving in to his desire for brutal revenge against the Tuskan raiders, Palpatine revealing himself and openly attacking Yoda. It's always about revealing one's true self that had been hidden. If "Duel of Fates" appears in Episode 9, I hope it follows the pattern from the prequels. It should signify darkness rising through bold action despite previously being hidden.

@Adrian not bad at all. The smugglers run ride only took about 70 minutes at noon. We got there around 10am and it wasn't too crowded. Only thing is the cantina was all booked up all day
Awesome man! I'm glad you had a great time. I can't wait to go myself and I'm glad to hear the majority of people still have good feelings about the park too.
@@FulcrumMW it is pretty cool. Just can't wait until the rise of the resistance ride opens. Theres still a lot too do, but kinda sucks there's only 1 ride so far. I've been in and out of galaxies edge all day, and they never had to close it down due to big crowds
Star Wars Resistance Season 1 takes place after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983) and before the events of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015) and Season 2 takes place after the events of Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) and this leads to the events of Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
The detail that a lot of people miss or choose to ignore about Galaxy’s Edge is that attendance has been down all over Disneyland, not just in Galaxy’s Edge. Galaxy’s Edge is actually the most crowded part of the park. It’s just not overcrowded.
ajzeg01 I believe that’s because Disney has been closely monitoring the amount of guests and to give the best experience for everyone has been limiting the amount of people that can visit each area.
Here is what Lucasfilm could have done to make the show better: 1) Dave Filoni should have more involvement like the last 2. Not calling Justin Ridge incompetent but don't leave most of it to him or anyone else. Dave gives shows it's full magic. Wait until he could focus all effort on a sole animation project again and not splitting between that, Clone Wars and live action. 2) Choose a different art style. Something more like Clone Wars and Rebels which is more realistic looking. Use the other art for a microseries like Forces of Destiny and Galaxy of Adventure. 4) Remove the childish and goofy humour and make it more mature. 4) Start after Bloodline and have it focus on the main Resistance and see it build. Have the one in our timeline as a side plot. 5) Call it Cold Wars so more knows the war name and because it just sounds better. Give it a better logo as well. 6) Have it 8 seasons and maybe 2 movies or something. 7) Wait until after the trilogy is over so you have had the full story and do so much more. Until then they could have done more on Rebels. 8) Better show timing 9) Better advertising *Edit:* 10) A Resistance Recon I didn't hate this show but I'm disappointed that it didn't live up to it's full potential like the last 2.
I mean, it does to some degree “suck.” I’m just disappointed that it likely won’t have the time to grow like The Clone Wars and Rebels did. They both had terrible first and seconds seasons and greatly improved in their third.
Love when youtuber's vlog and share their experiences, so please do that at the conventions (and other stuff you deem worthy) you go to. So awesome you're doing a panel with Chewie himself! I gotta go to some of these eventually.
Two questions. 1. If the Jedi knew “the Dark Side surrounds the Chancellor”, why did they not investigate sooner? 2. (Possible answer to 1) Is it possible that Palpatine occasionally blocked himself off from the force like Luke in Ep8 to keep the Jedi from discovering him?
I read this question before the part when they answer another one related to this show and for a second got super confused: "Wait, how are they answering the question posted on the same video??" :D
Q&A: Seeing as it's Canon (partly) through Star Wars: Commander, is it possible that the Galactic Empire's Project: Blackwing had a secret objective of unlocking immortality (possibly based on one of Plagueis's attempts) and used by Palpatine around the time of the Battle of Endor? Seeing as the original version of the virus in Legends was created by Darth Drear in order to achieve immortality for Sith Lords, something Canon Palpatine was looking for due to believing that the Empire shouldn't out live him. (5th attempt).

AND it rocks! the weekly Q&A is like a "must-watch" for me every saturday.
Q&A: Would you guys be down for a Season 8 of TCW which was completely anthology-driven. (Like non-chronological - just filling the gaps of series) - and what episodes would you want - like a Ventress or Grievous introduction, or an episode of how Anakin got his scar, etc.
Don’t worry. It’s actually the most crowded part of the park. Crowds have been down all over Disneyland this summer. A lot of people miss or choose to ignore that fact.
The issue about the overflow lines at Smuggler's Run ride (at 15:00 mark), that's the only ride available so of course, the lines are going to be long. And Bob Iger has said that the attendance for Galaxy's Edge hasn't lived up to their expectations but what do you expect when you only have one ride, it's more of a mall than a theme park and you've limited yourself to only showing one era of Star Wars. While they put in I think over $2 billion into the two parks, you would think that they wouldn't limit the parks to only the sequel era and one ride. Why not have essentially three different parts of the park, one for each of the eras (Prequel, Original and Sequel)
Just a note on the attendance of galaxy’s edge and all that stuff: in Disneyland the primary audience that attends the park are locals. So yeah, when they block out passholders and they tell locals to stay away because of crowds, nobody’s going to show up. As of now, the Smuggler’s Run ride is consistently at 90-120 min waits so people are definitely attending the area. At Disney World, our primary audience is tourists so everybody is going and a lot of passholders are blocked out and even cast members are blacked out for a while; I am married to a cast member so fortunately we got to go to one of the previews. We have a large population of locals that do come to Disney world but a lot of them are gonna be swayed not to come because our tourist season is year-round in Orlando so it will be a madhouse regardless. I know many passholders who are waiting until December or later to go when the full area is open.
Q and A: what do you think about the kid in the stables at the end of the last Jedi using the force to get his broom what do you think will happen to him?
I believe that the primary reason for RESISTANCE only getting two seasons is that it is a story decision; the whole point of the Resistance is to fight against the First Order, and by the looks of it (at least by my assumption) the First Order will be defeated in THE RISE OF SKYWALKER this December, during the run of season two of RESISTANCE. So what would be the point of carrying on the cartoon of the First Order is done? That would be like having the CLONE WARS animated show continue on past the timeline of Episde III. How would that make any sense?
Glenn Myron Resistance Season 2 is scary. The directors didn’t want to reveal it as the final season at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago. It will shock a lot of Star Wars fans.
It’s all quite simple. The show did not perform as expected, regardless of it’s quality or lack thereof (which is debatable), Disney pulled the plug and will move on to something else. Love it, hate it or just meh, if the numbers are not there for the bean counters, it’s not gonna move forward. At the end of the day, it’s all about profit.
Lmao man I feel old, because when he was talking about AIM, which for you younglings out there is AOL instant messenger, which was like texting on a computer way back before tablets and smart phones. Back then we had that really loud dial up internet lol.
Resistance is so new yet it is over. Why could they not have it take place after the force awakens and before the last jedi and have it take place after the last jedi and during the rise of Skywalker?
One of the reasons why Galaxy's Edge attendance was smaller was cause of the locals. Most are in fact annual pass holders. It is believed that Disneyland alone has 1 million pass holders counting all tiers. This leads to blackout dates that prevents them from visiting Disneyland park but they can still visit DCA. The low numbers won't be an issue with Disney World since most of that market is international.
Cad Bane was the best bounty hunter of the prequel era. Boba fett was the best of the original era. Who is the best of the sequels? Will we see them in The Mandalorian? Resistance S2?
John Williams is probably just using “all the themes” from the saga in the finale/ending credits. He typically uses all the themes from the specific movie in the end titles (along with the main theme/Luke’s theme of course.) But the end title from Revenge of the Sith had elements of themes from the entire saga at that point, because John Williams thought the saga was done. I’d expect something very similar in the finale/end title score for Rise if Skywalker.
7:00 The Emperor also changed his appearance to lure Ezra into trusting him. Maybe Snoke did the same. I really like your theory, that Snoke maybe even was a sort of mentor for Luke before the latter descovered Snoke‘s true nature.
A friend of mine went to Galaxy's edge here's what he said.... t was pretty damn busy. DCA is much busier because that’s where all of the passholders have to go since the can’t go to DL. So everyone there paid full price. People forget the difference between WDW and WDL. In California it is mostly locals and annual passholders, there are only 3 small hotels. In terms of the land, Cars and Pandora only have one ride in each and nobody calls them a failure (they have more rides but the others are crap) It’s worth it and I have no problem spending money, I didn’t buy anything except drinks and food and still got the full experience. Oga’s was awesome, was able to get 2 reservations. If it’s a failure, why are they out of Kyber crystals and why couldn’t I get the Rancor Tooth flight at Oga’s because they were out of them. It’s only a failure to those who can’t separate their politics from everything Star Wars (I.e. like apply TLJ to everything). They did a great job of having tons of OT stuff around Star Tours. I can't wait to go
Q&A: Since it has been confirmed that the Second Sister is not Barriss Offee, do you think it could be a canon reimagination of Mara Jade? I mean, inquisitors are pretty much the Empire's assassins.
First, Molly’s hair is so pretty! I liked Resistance, I understand why it’s ending in terms of overlapping the sequel trilogy (can’t accidentally contradict anything done in Rise of Skywalker). I think I’m part of a minority that thought the cell shading was a nice fresh way to animate a Star Wars cartoon, just wish they traveled around more.
I think I'll have to temper my expectations for Resistance in terms of continued arcs that will see any kind of coverage. With this being its final season, I think it's fair to rule out crossing paths with Ezra, Sabine, or Ahsoka. It could have easily lasted as long as Rebels did, and allowed for more appearances from existing characters.
The hilarious thing about people saying that "Star Wars is dead" is that it's like the 80s and 90s never happened. The Ewoks and Droids cartoon series lasted one season each. For years there were only novels and comics, or roleplaying game stuff -- and some of the novels were bad. Star Wars was a complete niche interest. Like, your friends would like the movies, but novels, comics and toys? It was a total niche interest.
In rebels jedi night hara tells kanan you havent got me a gift since we met when he gives her the calicory back..what was the gift she is referring to?
Q&A: What should be the upper limit of power for displayed force abilities when Star Wars goes back to the Old Republic era as Legends went over the top at times?
Q/A Question - How would you feel about this pitch for the end of Rise of Skywalker? : A new Jedi (or any other newly established name) Order is established.. flash ahead slightly in the future as the founders are searching for a planet in the Unknown Regions to start up everything. "Here is a uninhabited planet that should suit us. It exhibits many different climates/terrain that we may train our students throughout. According to the database, the last name given to this rock is 'Earth." I know it's ridic corny, but come on. A long time ago.. in a galaxy far, far away...
I place SW Resistance in about the same category as I do the SW Adventures comic series. They are both geared towards a younger audience, and neither really affect the canon all that much. They seem to be stories told from the periphery within the shared universe. That's not a bad thing. However, The Clone Wars was definitely filling in the massive three-year gap between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. And Rebels, although it has more of a stand-alone vibe, really was exploring the origins of the Rebellion. Resistance isn't really exploring the origins of the Resistance. It feels more like an incidental story during the time of the Resistance. I bet it would have had more success had it really focused on Poe's story, Phasma's story, Leia's story as a general, and maybe tied up some loose ends from Rebels (IE, what happened to Thrawn, Ezra, and Ahsoka). In my opinion, Ahsoka was the most important character who crossed over from TCW into Rebels; and it would be a real shame if she wasn't somehow brought into Resistance.
TH-cam question: Do you think we will see the other arcs of the Clone Wars (such as the Cad Bane/Boba Fett arc) be adapted into books and comics like Dark Disciple and Son of Dathomir Respectively?
*20 year old basement dwellers who disliked all the Resistance trailers using multiple TH-cam accounts* “Well, boys, we did it. Resistance is no more.”
Q&A: This is similar to a prior question, but do you think our new characters (Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, ECT.) will get continuations of their story after Episode 9 Similar to how the 1st Thrawn Trilogy and Dark Empire continued Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewies Story?
Remember when Resistance was announced and no one knew anything about it. So will to be the spin off that takes place after episode 9 where the remaining members of the cast of the Resistance hunt down the remnants of the 1st order after they are defeated.
Do you think the droid brain of the Falcon mentioned in the Last Jedi novelization that “had a fondness for romantic gossip and dirty jokes” was L3? I was rewatching the video you made before Solo was released and was surprised by that detail.
Hey guys have you watched Darth Maul:Apprentice? Its a star wars fan film with high production quality that I think you might enjoy. Its less than 20 mins. May the force be with you.

Here is what Lucasfilm could have done to make the show better:
1) Dave Filoni should have more involvement like the last 2.
8) Better show timing
9) Better advertising
*Edit:* 10) A Resistance Recon
I didn't hate this show but I'm disappointed that it didn't live up to it's full potential like the last 2.
I am a big Starwars fan and your videos allow me to get my daily dose of Starwars.
Love from Somalia ❤️
I haven't watched a Q&A in weeks so I was shocked to see Captain Marvel had joined your show! XD Mollie's new hair looks awesome!!!
Resistance before beginning: "Boooo, this show sucks!!"
Resistance after ending: "aw, so soon?😕"
Pretty much...
Yeah similar to clone wars and rebels these shows need time to grow on us but guess this show won't have that luxury for some reason
I mean, it does to some degree “suck.” I’m just disappointed that it likely won’t have the time to grow like The Clone Wars and Rebels did. They both had terrible first and seconds seasons and greatly improved in their third.
bemotivated i disagree a lot with this
Love when youtuber's vlog and share their experiences, so please do that at the conventions (and other stuff you deem worthy) you go to. So awesome you're doing a panel with Chewie himself! I gotta go to some of these eventually.
Thank you guys so much for featuring my comment!
Let’s be honest, they would have made multiple seasons had the show been getting better feedback
So people can stop saying it’s all part of the plan
Yep. Look at online ratings.
Just what someone who had their expectations subverted would say.
Well, that was Anakin's job and we know how that turned out.
Because of George Lucas rushing the scripts to the prequels.
Q and A question
Do you think we might see Bail and Breha Organa in the Cassian Andor show? And maybe young Leia?
I read this question before the part when they answer another one related to this show and for a second got super confused: "Wait, how are they answering the question posted on the same video??" :D
@@brian_chalega 😂
That's where I got the idea for the question! Also, thanks fir showing me tou can reply to comments!
We need an animated series about Luke forming the new Jedi order that leads up to the fall of Ben Solo. With Mark Hamill voicing Luke, of course.
Thanks for the wonderful answer Alex & Mollie!! You're both great and I'd love to see more Between Two Suns ✊
I always felt Resistance was something to fill the timeslot, while production teams gear up for making content for streaming.
16:15 Joonas instagram activity is fkn epic. good vibes every post, wookie jokes, and man, it made my day when I saw "your comment was liked by CHEWBACCA". I hope Petter Mayhew deem him worthy, in my mind (and much more people) he IS. Alex, prepare your best wookie roar, I'm sure you'll get along, you both are positive and loving people. AND it rocks! the weekly Q&A is like a "must-watch" for me every saturday.
Is that Helo from Battlestar? That’s awesome.
Q&A: Would you guys be down for a Season 8 of TCW which was completely anthology-driven. (Like non-chronological - just filling the gaps of series) - and what episodes would you want - like a Ventress or Grievous introduction, or an episode of how Anakin got his scar, etc.
I’ll tell you what I want. Is to see Greivous beat a bunch of Jedi.
@@mazzucac Would love a similar intro to him to what we got in 2003. That would be killer
You have SW Explained FUNKO POPS?! That's really awesome!
Thanks for the vid. I was a little worried about Galaxy's Edge but that scorching heat reason sounds reasonable.
Don’t worry. It’s actually the most crowded part of the park. Crowds have been down all over Disneyland this summer. A lot of people miss or choose to ignore that fact.
I went to Galaxy's Edge in late July and it did not seem empty to me at all. I had a lot of fun there.
That Nien laugh at the end was spot on lmao
I hope they bring back Yub Nub for the main fight sequence in EP.IX
Hope to meet you two at Dragon Con. A handful of friends and I will be making our first trip down there.
Looking forward to it, but so not ready!
I really like Alex’s t-shirt but can’t seem to find it on their Teespring link... Anyone know where it’s from?
Q and A: what do you think about the kid in the stables at the end of the last Jedi using the force to get his broom what do you think will happen to him?
I bet he'll do some sweeping
Sounds good to me
It’s all quite simple.
Vader: What happened to all the Jedi?
Palpatine: The clone troopers have wiped out the entire jedi council
Vader: ....I declare myself a jedi master.
Little off-topic, but Alex is really getting buff!
You have a good point it should be at 6 pm at least
Q&A Is Zeb using the force to find Liresan just like the chiss sky walkers do too proof he would potentially be a candidate for also becoming a Jedi
ewan mcgregor: *walks onstage at d23* "HELLO THERE!"
How many Star Wars shirts do you guys own?
Lmao man I feel old, because when he was talking about AIM, which for you younglings out there is AOL instant messenger, which was like texting on a computer way back before tablets and smart phones. Back then we had that really loud dial up internet lol.
Resistance is so new yet it is over. Why could they not have it take place after the force awakens and before the last jedi and have it take place after the last jedi and during the rise of Skywalker?
They broke the 1 Million visitor record
I remember hearing that The Resistance series was only supposed to be two seasons from the beginning.
I enjoyed the slightly longer Q and A.
I think the TH-cam channel 3 buck theater did a better answer as to why it only got two seasons. They had objective evidence to back it up
If Snoke only ever communicated via hologram, he could have hidden his appearance, like Palpatine did in public.
Q and A question
How do you think bb8 roll out fits in canon or does it even fit?
One of the reasons why Galaxy's Edge attendance was smaller was cause of the locals. Most are in fact annual pass holders. It is believed that Disneyland alone has 1 million pass holders counting all tiers. This leads to blackout dates that prevents them from visiting Disneyland park but they can still visit DCA. The low numbers won't be an issue with Disney World since most of that market is international.
Duel of the fates, battle of the heroes, death star II assault, throne room duel.
In terms of the land, Cars and Pandora only have one ride in each and nobody calls them a failure (they have more rides but the others are crap)
It’s worth it and I have no problem spending money, I didn’t buy anything except drinks and food and still got the full experience.
I can't wait to go
Hi guys how do you order your reading material? I keep mine in chronological order mixed with comics and books.
12:20 yeah, am from Mexico and i am going to wait until the park is finished completely
Compared to Rebels and clone wars resistance was such a letdown. Kaz was 2 dimensional and never really grabbed me
I wonder if snoke is a grysk
I haven’t finished Rebels but I want to watch this show soon too
In rebels jedi night hara tells kanan you havent got me a gift since we met when he gives her the calicory back..what was the gift she is referring to?
Q&A: What should be the upper limit of power for displayed force abilities when Star Wars goes back to the Old Republic era as Legends went over the top at times?
Duel of the fates has a lot of energy behind it (as does the fight) but I can’t imagine Rey and kylo replicating the same energy
A long time ago.. in a galaxy far, far away...
just noticed Mollie got a funko pop too now!! thats amazing
I hope we will get to see a sequel to rebels after the end of resistance.
Fans: You can’t stop us
Star Wars Resistance: I know, but he can...
CLONE WARS SEASON! 7
Great video and I guess there would be only two seasons. Also love your hair
"Obi-wan Kenobi, now that's a name I haven't heard in.....months" - Darth Alex the Wise
TH-cam question: Do you think we will see the other arcs of the Clone Wars (such as the Cad Bane/Boba Fett arc) be adapted into books and comics like Dark Disciple and Son of Dathomir Respectively?
*20 year old basement dwellers who disliked all the Resistance trailers using multiple TH-cam accounts*
“Well, boys, we did it.
Q/A: Do you think y’all will ever make a podcast?
What about the last clone is kix
Do you think the droid brain of the Falcon mentioned in the Last Jedi novelization that “had a fondness for romantic gossip and dirty jokes” was L3? I was rewatching the video you made before Solo was released and was surprised by that detail.
Kaz reminded me of Woody from Toy Story in the first part of season 1. I not complaining, I’m just saying. He calmed down as it went along.
When you move to the new set can you please sit in your regular positions, thanks.
I wonder if we will see a show about the academy years next. Makes since, because now they don't have to worry about treading on the films toes
Q&A: If Disney were to revive the Boba Fett movie, what do you think the plot will be and when it will take place?
Hey guys have you watched Darth Maul:Apprentice? Its a star wars fan film with high production quality that I think you might enjoy. Its less than 20 mins. May the force be with you.
I own that same shirt Mollie is wearing!
Is the panel with joseph going to be broadcasted???
