Do they charge a setup fee? It's not clear in the description on their website. They mention the 60 days of electricity and $20/month in hosting fees. They also say set up fees, but don't say how much it is.
Hmm, if it's hosted in the US, there shouldn't be any duties on the unit since it's already in the US. Im assuming here, but if you have a contact you could verify. Also, about "access", are they giving you some sort of VPN or do you just supply the pool info to them at initial startup? Setting up a VPN would seem kind of time consuming on their end.
Good point about them already being in the U.S. but I'm still not sure if they transfer ownership and ship it to you if they'll charge. If they don't, then this would be the way to go 100%!
You will have access to a webpage which look like the miner setup page where you can setup pool and wallet. I did not have to pay import duties for my hosted units. One caveat, at this time, you cannot transfer ownership of the units: you will need to ship the unit out to a new owner if you sell the hosted asic.
@@chriscalifsr Do you know what happens when you remove the miners from hosting? Im assuming you can have those shipped anywhere in the US, but im wondering if tarrfs apply when you remove the rig. I would think they shouldn't apply, but it's a large amount so I would like clarity on that.
I was told by people in my Discord who are in the U.S. that they weren't charged for shipping after they ended their hosting services with Iceriver. I don't have any personal experience myself with this and I havnt heard anything about the EU. You can always email Iceriver and ask, they should be able to answer your questions more specifically

Do they ship the Miner to you anywhere worldwide if you happen to decide to mine yourself instead of hosting later in a few months or so? Or is this hosting only like you won’t ever get your miner ?
The people I have talked to that have used Iceriver hosting are telling me they will ship your miner but I think the person I talked to is U.S. based which is where the hosting facility is.
hello I got my KS5L hosted at ICERIVER since 8 days back, however last 3 days at least 1 hour downtime, and yesterday at least 3-4 hours downtime, which is definitely a big issue. I think they have some problems in their hosting facility, can you get us more info about it? as after seeing ur video i was excited to host at iceriver but i was disappointed by the downtime. Thanks a lot
People in my Discord have reported some issues as well. They are on boarding a lot of miners in a short amount of time. It's a massive undertaking. For context I've been waiting for over a week for a miner I sent to a hosting facility to be turned on period. You will have some downtime whether you're hosting a rig or managing it yourself at home. Things should stabilize and calm down once these last few batches are up and running. Lots of people in my Discord have reported that they've been very happy with their hosted Icerivers in the past

It makes a lot more sense to buy Kaspa right now
It might... but it also might work out really well if you depreciate the value of the machine on taxes, and sell the machines during the bull run
Thank you i use your cupon and works great
