So yeah, I imagine they spend a lot of time working on that engine for PS5 (which is still ultimately gonna be a decade behind engines like UE4) and it's probably a lot easier to just reuse and revamp assets from an older title, because making a new mainline Neptunia would take them more time... That, and the fact that they're just trolling us at this point. Most likely they just gave up on Neptunia, and tbh lately there isn't all that much to meme the shit outta in the game industry... Same old, same old... Console War's still going on, PC still reigns supreme as far as tech goes, piracy on consoles isn't as big as it used to be (or at least I don't hear much about it...) and for all we know the next Nep game, going by their recent writing style, would be a lot darker... We've seen Conquest ending, we've seen the catastrophe and the ruins Uzume's dimension was in VII, also CPUs losing their reign to some nobodies... like, can we even go further and would it still be the good old funny and positive looking Neptunia we love?
From the series that saved my life, to the opening that inspired "Hyperdimension Neptunia: A Dimensional Trip". This cover really made me smile. I was almost in tears near the end. Even if this series isn't doing well and could possibly end soon, I'm still going love it dearly!
Good news is that it's still going strong my man. New game coming out in Japan this year and a localization was already confirmed. The last OVA also heavily teased a second season that would likely cover VII. There's plenty more Nep to come.

I'm the one who uploaded the Rie Tanaka/Eriko Futami version on another one of my TH-cam channels over seven years ago, several years after the anime originally aired in Japan, accompanied by images of Eriko Futami I collected on the internet from drama CD, manga, fan book, anime, etc., because an earlier video of it, uploaded by someone else, "vanished" from TH-cam. I ended the video with a shot of Eriko atop, with a slight smile on her face, looking down on the male protagonist, with a mostly clear blue sky in the background, a shining, bright sun above, slowly zooming in, Ken Burns style. I have no idea where that image is from, but it is one of very favorite pictures of Eriko Futami.
