I almost burn out my Lepy LP-838 at revealing what is inside

- In this video I am revealing what is inside of the budget Lepy amplifier and I want to present how is working, so I connect the amp to the speakers and drive it for a short period of time.. but that happen if you drive it to much.. :) .. so I was lucky.. I did't burn the amp! But don' t try that if you dont want to damage your own! Learn something from that!

This way of testing without the passive cooling would fry any amplifier, no matter the quality or brand.
The aluminum body and thermal compound is there for a reason...
The chips on the bottom are the amp ic, the ones on top are used to control tone.

Opa...aqui tive que ligar o sub na saída de um falante, pois não sai som se eu ligar ele na saída do sub...pq será? Detalhe: só liguei o sub no amplificador. Não liguei outra caixa no L e nem no R. Só quero usar este amplificador pra sub, pois o som sai direto da TV.
A question: Would you recommend the Q100 amplifier to only power a subwoofer?
It very depnd how you intend to connect it..
U can use any amp for a sub just use one channel. But you probably want a crossover before that to send only the bass frequencies
Mine played less than 5min, power still on but nomore sound.

I stop wasting time with these pathetic mini amps. The thought of their compact size seemed appealing at first, for a small bedroom stereo. But I was very disappointed in my Lepy and Lvpin LP-838 units. I suspect the Lepai and Elegiant equivalents are the same shit. I finally found happiness with the Douk audio Nobsound NS-20G I bought from Aliexpress. Much better, more capable unit the the Lepai units. For the size of a pack of cigarettes, I can rock my bedroom with only 2 small bookshelf speakers, a pair of old, Radio Shack Realistic Minimus 7 speakers. I used the same speakers with the Lepy, and the Lvpin, and either one cound barely drive them. The Nobsound with the two speakers spanks the Lepy with the same 2 speakers AND a JVC subwoofer. I thought about taking one of my Lepy units apart, and possibly modifying it, but probably not worth the time or effort. My next quest will be trying one of those bluetooth boards that come out of China with the 3116 chip, to see how they fare instead.
Lol I saw it coming when I saw the bottom chips with heatsink compound that would have sent heat to the case... but no case
If you power on the amplifier do you hear a pop out of the speakers ?

ive tested many amplifiers and most ones do that.
It's normal to have it pop, but its not normal if your speakers cone almost gets blasted into space by that pop
But alot of cheap amps pop way to loud because of wrong gain settings that most of the time only can get fixed by swapping certain parts
Such pops can easily be seen and heard when you connect an cable/device to the aux jack
@@cybernaab so the best way is to install a speaker protection circuit.
Most of them have a power on delay that avoid that loud POP that can do harm to your speakers.
@@GeertDroid yeah i know, my cheap wuhzi amp has that build in but the gain is set so high that the speakers almost blowup when you insert or move around the aux/jackplug cable. But the powerup mode is fine and doesnt sent my woofers into space
Thats why i only use these amps for outside, and a decent class a/b amp inside that doesnt buzz or hiss pop etc. These cheap amps are rubbish and dont deserve to be on the market, also the bluetooth is simply awful on all these tiny toy amps

2x10 watts

@@DianKOficial el circuito amplificador tiene dos entradas y dos salidas amplificadas..el circuito no da en uno de salida hay que cambiarlo

@@bawersauriorexrex9240 Es que la carcasa de aluminio de ese amplificador sirve para disipar el calor de los chips, por eso los chips amplificadores tienen una pasta térmica blanca para transmitir mejor el calor y mantener una temperatura adecuada, eso es lo que él explica en el video, al poner a trabajar sin la carcasa me imagino que los chips se colocaron peor que una plancha y fallaron, en 4:32 señala los chips.

Don't really know.. usualy don't do that.. But this time it is 🤭 or i have driven it to much.. And without cooling it just fail.. Or is not enough powerful to drive those speakers.. Bo.. 🤷♂️ ☺️
3:23 u know that this only happened because u probably put thoses speakers lower than 4 Ohms
Left and right are 6 Ohm sub is 4 Ohm..
@@als-techreview yeah, but your speakers are in parallel getting out of superbass output, this makes the equivalent resistance drop to 2 ohms and thats out of amp range

@@carlosmedinalara1918 hi, u know that every speaker has some internal resistence, like 8ohms 4ohms. Resistivity laws: you can conect your speakers in Two ways: Parallel And series.
Parallel: the equivalent resistance Will Drop ex: 4ohms And 4ohms Will Drop to 2 ohms
Series: 4 And 4 ohms Will get to 8ohms.
If u make the wrong association u can endup with a too low resistance, outof the amp range, this is harmfull for the amp, or u could endup with too much resistance, that is harmfull as Well, always know your system resistance And your amp range, they have to match!
This is ohm's law resistor fundamentals

this sounds like shit with 12v, i use 16v 4A and sound close to a high budget amplifier.
Can I use it with 19v 4,74a?
@@mustafakocaoglu8888 i wouldnt recommend it but do it at your own risk, this AMPLIFIER is design from 12v to 18v so the factors above that range might be harmful, so wouldnt recommend you can try but beware.
