always stoked when you upload. Not often you find chill youtubers with entertaining long form content who don't feel like they're putting on a facade personality. Cheers brother.
The Death Valley Germans died just East of those cabins, they stayed the night at that first one. Its crazy because their van got stuck like 1 mile from the cabin, and there is a pipe with running water there. It would have been a 20 minute walk. Instead they walked south because the map showed the military base, but the base is 1000’s of square miles of empty desert.
Definitely enjoy this type of video. The rebuild videos are excellent but we want to see you enjoying the builds also and living vicariously through you.
A thick reading book in the fridge LOL...the expanse of the Death Valley area is crazy but amazingly beautiful. For a place so devoid of life and wicked dangers, it's a truly gorgeous place.
Keep the videos up man. Your style of video is a breath of fresh air. I did something similar in college in SLO, drove through the desert and ended up my trip camping on pismo.
I had a chance to visit death valley last summer. Late afternoon just in time to catch the sunset. Followed by a thunderstorm, it went from 120 degrees at 7 pm to 55 degrees. The sunset was just incredible, truly an experience.
If you notice the Flag is hoisted up at the Geologist's Cabin, means someone has already claimed it for weekend. Usually people leave a padlock on the door so their stuff doesnt get taken when exploring the area. The nice thing is all the cabin's have outhouses, beats the hell out of squatting out in the open.
This is one of my favorite videos of yours yet. Love to see the Taco in its element and see you adventuring. It's inspiring. Keep making the awesome videos man. You rock.
Great video Mike, definitely interested in more like that. I give you tons of credit for all the work that went into it. Also, props for doing it all on your own.
Beautiful country! Enjoy your content especially on Toyota Tacomas! I've got a 2001 with the 2.7l it has 243.000 and I just replaced the valve cover gasket and spark plugs and it runs like new!
super relaxing to watch you go on your journey. This really makes me eager to finish working on my 1993 jeep YJ and take it out to local trails and campsites to do some overlanding. I really enjoyed your video and just the serenity of Death Valley, hats off to you for doing it solo!
I have the same tent and I about lost my shit the first time I used it trying to figure the ladder out. Gotta start with it fully together and pull one by one from the bottom
I have a 23Zero Breezeway 62 RTT and i would say its more than big enough for both me and my girlfriend at the same time. I'm 6'3 ~210 pounds and still find it very comfortable to sleep in. We do bring an extra memory foam layer to throw in and that definitely helps. Just as comfortable as my bed at home
I love Death Valley! I'm driving a 25 yr old RAV4 currently - doing fine and I'm impressed .......More Death Valley adventures please - enjoyed this a lot
This is sweet. Reminds me of back in the day I had a old 92 Toyota I drove from Seattle and moved to St. George Utah and I would drive around and explore the southern desert there. Good times. Nothing quite like it. Especially when you get to a surreal place
Nice!!! We did this almost same trip last January (2023) but in reverse. Trona, Escape Trail/Fish Canyon, Goler Wash/Mengel Pass, Warm Springs, West Side Road and Cerro Gordo. Happy wheelin' and be safe.
this is one of my favorite videos of yours. Rad to see a project you've put so much time into out there doin it's thing. Good timing too as I'm trying to put together a camping trip in the next few weeks, Death Valley is definitely on the list now. Cheers!
The cabins are all volunteer maintained. If the flag is up someone is staying there. Raise the flag if you stay. You would have been fine. Stayed at several of those cabins.
As an 03 tacoma quad cab owner, so cool to see this! I just got a hard top tent and have it mounted much like yours. I did the same exact thing with the ladder at first 😆
When the flag is flying at those cabins it indicates occupied. The fact the fire was burning and nobody in sight was weird. They were probably pooping. Or passed out/dead in the outhouse. :/
Wicked. Rode down through death valley on my motorcycle in 2019. Crossed the Ebbets pass in November and picked up the 395 south. Spent the night in Brighton and loved my next day in the valley. Next night was in Nipton. Great adventures.
Jersey Mike's, that's my wife and my go-to, off-road exploring sandwich place. Great video. My wife and I are going to do a trip to DV before the end of Winter.
I gotta say, this has been one of the more inspiring videos for me. I’ve wanted to go on a trip like this for a while, but for one reason or another haven’t committed. CA has some amazing sites and history to explore, I need to get out and see it.
It's nice to have a offroad/adventure channel that doesn't rely on clickbaity bullshit titles to garner attention like all those other shnooks. Keep it up
Awesome video, you inspired me to head down there in a couple weeks. Try pulling the tent ladder all the way out then shortening it. I have an older tepui and that’s how you get mine to lock
the buddy heater even at low setting heat up the tent so quickly that I have to shut it off within 30 mins of usage. Unfortunately, I have to wake up every couple hours to turn it back on...turn it back off a few times but it does a great job keeping me, my wife and the doggo warm under 20 - 30 ish degrees
The Desth Valley Germans went to the same first cabin you went to. Took the flag and signed the visitor book. They made a wrong turn somewhere and got their mini van stuck in a wash. The rest is history :)
I love how you build your armor by yourself, If you ever make one for 3rd gen 4runners, shoot me a message. I really like the look of the tubular one on the 3rd gen taco and also this swingout on the 1st gen!
Looks like you're having fun out there I have the 2004 Tacoma with 230,000 miles on it still running strong amazingly enough I can sleep in the passenger seat with the extra cab and the seat all the way back it's relatively comfortable. Especially because I need the space in the back forthe Dirtbike.
1:41 i think you are right! i remembered seeing that somewhere so i did some digging for you, and that looks exactly like that place on the channel (Ghost Town Living)
Fun youthful innocence in DVNP. There's lots more to cover and learn about the largest national park outside Alaska. Please remember drones are not permitted in the park. Safe travels.
Ohh , didn’t realize this was a new one I just subscribed today. I was checking your vids on the “pre runner shocks” on the Cherokee. I like what you did with the rear shocks.
Makes me miss Nevada So much amazing back country!! Definitely can be a little overwhelming You just have to be careful Nice video!! Get those bushings replaced 😅. I take that back.. you had replaced them.. definitely something squeaky tho. Anyway good fun run!!
Airbag light could be the clockspring in the steering column going bad. To know for sure, the cruise control and horn would also not work if that light is on and the clock spring failure has occurred. 👍🏻
Dope af video bro, an awesome vid for sure! I stayed at some of those cabins, you’ll know if it’s occupied if they’re flying a flag out front like the one with the fire had going on. Keep up the great work!
always stoked when you upload. Not often you find chill youtubers with entertaining long form content who don't feel like they're putting on a facade personality. Cheers brother.
Cheers, and thank you!
Couldn’t agree more !
I died at "I got the dogs hidden.. you gotta pay for those".
Love it!
No sneak peaks 😞

Hats off to ya Mike. I couldn't do that ride without a crew. Nice Video!
😂 why do you need your friends to ride with you? Scared?
I could watch these dedicated trip videos for hours it gives me ideas for stuff to do on my own
Definitely enjoy this type of video. The rebuild videos are excellent but we want to see you enjoying the builds also and living vicariously through you.
Bad ass vid 👍
A thick reading book in the fridge LOL...the expanse of the Death Valley area is crazy but amazingly beautiful. For a place so devoid of life and wicked dangers, it's a truly gorgeous place.
It absolutely is.
Mike was just two hairs away from being the subject of a NBC Nightline "missing without a trace" episode.
You're a brave man! This is exactly how a horror movie starts.... facts 😂! Awesome video!!!
Keep the videos up man. Your style of video is a breath of fresh air. I did something similar in college in SLO, drove through the desert and ended up my trip camping on pismo.
Great video! Refreshing to see someone just exploring and having fun and not taking it so serious with the gear and food. Thanks man!
I had a chance to visit death valley last summer. Late afternoon just in time to catch the sunset. Followed by a thunderstorm, it went from 120 degrees at 7 pm to 55 degrees. The sunset was just incredible, truly an experience.
Whoop whoop Mike is on a roll after his long awaited return! 🙏 🙌🏼

Awesome video Mike. I can't imagine exploring charles manson's hideout alone at night
This is one of my favorite videos of yours yet. Love to see the Taco in its element and see you adventuring. It's inspiring. Keep making the awesome videos man. You rock.
Thank you John! I really appreciate you!

dude this is so peaceful, it really calmed me down.
Good to hear !
Awesome blog brother. Watched the whole thing. One day I’ll go out exploring like this. This is life.
Thank you! It’s amazing, get out there!
Excellent video Mike, thanks for taking us along!
Aww man. Thanks for sharing your journey looks like you had fun and peaceful time. Keep on rolling 👍🏽👊🏽
Very cool seeing the mines and seldom visited parts of death valley. Thank you for sharing
I busted up laughing when you said it was the start of a horror movie hahah
That's the best tacoma model out there! The size and power are perfect. I love my 4.0 but I love my friend's 3.4 as well.
good simple video, entertaining to watch, keep making them. it's good content seeing you wheeling around and just exploring.
super relaxing to watch you go on your journey.
Yep, I eventually got it 😂
Thanks for taking us along. Great channel you got going.
Mike you never fail to inspire me. Great vid.
I appreciate that!

Pretty wild that the cabin had a fresh fire in the fireplace but nobody anywhere to be found
I love Death Valley! I'm driving a 25 yr old RAV4 currently - doing fine and I'm impressed .......More Death Valley adventures please - enjoyed this a lot

St. George area is stunning!
Great video, thanks for a good adventure. Those piles of dirt from the mines are called tailings
Nice!!! We did this almost same trip last January (2023) but in reverse. Trona, Escape Trail/Fish Canyon, Goler Wash/Mengel Pass, Warm Springs, West Side Road and Cerro Gordo. Happy wheelin' and be safe.

i'm minding the big crack in the windshield...
Please noooo
Really cool video! I love how your video wasn't embellished by music - just raw footage.
As an 03 tacoma quad cab owner, so cool to see this! I just got a hard top tent and have it mounted much like yours. I did the same exact thing with the ladder at first 😆
Haha it took me awhile to figure that one out
When the flag is flying at those cabins it indicates occupied. The fact the fire was burning and nobody in sight was weird. They were probably pooping. Or passed out/dead in the outhouse. :/

Peak TH-cam, just a dude, a truck, and the open desert. No 5m budget, fancy editors, careful thumbnail selection to boost engagement
hey thank you!
Jersey Mike's, that's my wife and my go-to, off-road exploring sandwich place. Great video. My wife and I are going to do a trip to DV before the end of Winter.
Pretty cool video! Death Valley and a Toyota truck, you didn´t disappoint!
Thanks for sharing. I always get excited when I see a new video. 👊

Yooo yeah you passed through Cero Gordo out there. I've wanted to check that place out, but you're wild for going out in the winter lol.
15:55. kilby girl. the backseat lovers is my favorite band. love seeing the ol toy yoda. 👍
Thanks for taking us with you bruv!

I would love to!
Just stumbled upon your video. Awesome solo trip!
⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Desth Valley Germans went to the same first cabin you went to. Took the flag and signed the visitor book. They made a wrong turn somewhere and got their mini van stuck in a wash. The rest is history :)
I have to read up again. Crazy!
Got hooked by your first Tacoma build videos, been watching every video since. Keep up the great work buddy 🤙
I love how you build your armor by yourself, If you ever make one for 3rd gen 4runners, shoot me a message. I really like the look of the tubular one on the 3rd gen taco and also this swingout on the 1st gen!
When the flag is raised at a Public use cabin it means it's being used, first come first served.

That creepy first cabin with the fire going but nobody in sight? NOPE. Hell no. Definitely run.

In that cabin where the fire was going if the flag is up somebody is staying the for the night. It's a public use cabin.
Sick trip, thanks for sharing!
Sick video! Great quality, beautiful scenery, sweet Taco. Subbed.
Got it all here!
Enjoyed the shit outta that man. Glad you're back with some new content.
Thank you.!
Pretty funny your a master mechanic yet had trouble with the ladder😂. Fun video. Thanks
Love your videos! Always looking forward
Mike that bed rack is perfectly built
basically was on bumpy trail from saline valley rd all the way to ubehebe crater… thats was too much back country trail for me 😂
Makes me miss Nevada
So much amazing back country!!
Definitely can be a little overwhelming You just have to be careful
Nice video!! Get those bushings replaced 😅.
I take that back.. you had replaced them.. definitely something squeaky tho. Anyway good fun run!!
Dope video. I want to try this trip one day. Cant believe you went down that hole lol Stay Safe!
Thank you!
Hell Yeah.
My type of Dude!
Never been to Death Valley but it’s on my list.
Cheers
Worth a stay for sure.
Airbag light could be the clockspring in the steering column going bad. To know for sure, the cruise control and horn would also not work if that light is on and the clock spring failure has occurred. 👍🏻
I exploded Dead Valley last year in a 1987 Toyota 4Runner. That’s old. Great job👍🏾
Finally! Was wondering if you were done with the vids.
loved the change in content brother keep it up
Dope af video bro, an awesome vid for sure! I stayed at some of those cabins, you’ll know if it’s occupied if they’re flying a flag out front like the one with the fire had going on. Keep up the great work!
Great stuff Mike. Looking forward to more content!
Love your videos can’t wait to get my 1st gen sequoia out on some trips soon
