Hey guys , just came across your channel. I can relate to this video so much . I came in Dec 22 living in London ON and have had so many challenges. OMG. And I came alone. I have never cried so much in my life. My mental health has been affected . What they sold us is not the experience we get once we get here. But you have to be so strong mentally not to break. I swear I wanted to go back to Barbados about 100 times since I have come here. I would tell myself I do not have to deal with this , I was so comfortable in Barbados. But then I try to be more positive and tell myself it’s just the beginning, I have to build . Peaks and Valleys.
My first job and second jobs were not good experiences. Now I recently got a better job. Progress! And I am grateful.
This journey has brought me closer to God and has strengthened my faith.

Coming to Canada alone is no easy feat! You should be proud of any and everything you have accomplished! People need to understand that Canada is just as imperfect as every other country.
I have realized that apart of the reason God put us on this journey is to pull us closer to him 🙏 at this point its hard to see exactly what's next but we are trying to be hopeful. Hearing people like you who have been here for a while confirm that it gets better is extremely helpful for newer people like us.

Wow! I feel you! I’m also in London ON, and came alone. I came in Aug 21, and I still feel unsettled. You are so right about being mentally strong! You really have to push each day, I myself cried countless of times! But.. we have to believe it’ll get better! 🙏🏾🥹

This too will pass. We felt exactly the same when we first moved to Canada life was very hard for us back then.
Now almost 4 years on We love it more.
It's a process that takes time to adjust. You will get there eventually, just take one day at a time.
This much I know! Things have definitely improved, even if only in small ways. So I am sure it will get better over time. 🙏 I know for a fact that God brought us here for a reason
As the saying goes "If yuh want good, yuh nose haffi run". Keep the end goal mind and like you said, the opportunities and potential is great. With God's help you'll make it and be successful 👏🏾👍🏿

Abroad is like dat,, i uded to live in UK, tjinkong of coming to Canada, am in my late 40s
Im here in ON exactly 1 yr now with my family & God has been good to us 🙏. It took me 2 months to get a job which was depressing but after that things have been better. Its nowhere near my dream job but it puts food on the table & bills are taken care of. I have great expectations here, if you are here & struggling DONT give up, keeeep pushing.
Thank you for sharing 🙏 the goal is to survive right now. That's all we can do in the first 2 years. Pushing through until things get better 🙏 💪

Hey guys. 10 months in and I don't regret it either. Neighbour in Calgary. It does feel like opportunities are there, just have to keep focused and conscious that the landscape is definitely changing in a lot of ways.
