Which is why there was a trend a while on diesel locomotives to have the pipes covered in asbestos. Because it denied the potential in the first place. I'm unaware if simply wrapping the exhaust in glass would help.

@@markolson8928 usually it is powder bc gas suppression systems usually need a sealed area to work effectively and gas systems work by displacing oxygen (I'm pretty sure suffocation is better than immolation, but Dan wants neither)...if you've got other information, I'm willing to hear it! ✌️
Fogmaker systems can lay down, the fluid is pushed out by a nitrogen powerd piston (20bar nitrogen then add fluid till it has ca.130bar). Don't know if this brand is like that.
Hard to tell on the video, but it looks like its 3M Novec 1230, which is a fluid. It also looks like you can install horizontally, although it should be cross wise.
You should put a piece of shear wire on the fire suppression t handle to prevent it from backing out from vibration or someone bumping it. It's what we use on aircraft emergency t handles
looks really nice guys, a lot of work there. i would suggest to setup another cable for the fire supression and place it outside the vechile with a clear marking that its there.on the opposite side of the one you just put. also: Safety Dan.
through the process of locating all the aftermarket , another thing to keep in mind is corner weight, and making use of scales . can calculate fuel and driver weight etc into it .

Surely the methanol tank should be behind the firewall as that’s more explosive than a diesel tank. Even though diesel won’t ignite with a naked flame!
Ill have to check the bank's system out. I have a snow performance with a controller that I bought about 8 years ago and you can tune it to boost levels and rpm etc. I had it set to start injecting at like 10lbs of boost and ramp up to 100% at like 40lbs of boost.
@@Steve_I ok, if I'm wrong at all let me know...but to my best knowledge, the snow performance is tunable to three points and the Banks system is infinitely adjustable. I may be over my skis on this one, lol
@@jacobwalls452 I know the stage 1 kit isn't very adjustable. I have the stage 3 diesel kit and it's as adjustable as water meth can get I think lol. It has a boost and egt probe and you can set it up on either or both. It came with a handful of jets in different sizes. You can set it up pretty slick and this is on my old kit that was on a 12v non intercooler cummins lol the new kits are even better I'm sure. I will tell you, I wouldn't buy one again. Sure the lower egts, higher boost is nice, but $700 could have been spent in a much better place in my opinion.

If my memory is correct, Banks sells a mechanically-adjusteable orifice with it's water/meth systems and uses various parameters to adjust it's map on-the-fly. Out of curiosity, if you had a new truck and $700, what would be your first performance purchase? Tuner?
just a FYI lesson from the shiping industry, you want to make sure you have a kill switch on the fire supression sysstem as a diesel engine will consume CO2 and pump it out of the engine bay stopping it from having any effect.
I know this is long ago, but i'd add another fire suppression handle at the rear of the car where the chute is along with an electric shut-off switch (in a red or yellow and black recessed bracket). If (knocks on wood) god forbid Dan rolls exactly on the driver's side, and he's unconscious, nobody can pull the fire suppression. The rear of the car is fully accessible at all times and rarely does damage ever get to it, i mean, you'd need some wicked crash to damage the end of a car in a straight forward run.

Everything looks sick but the only thing I would change is the position of the parachute handle as I would have put it on the roof because it would be easier to just reach up and push if forward and it would mean less clutter around the shifter and that's where most of the pro drivers have it but it's down to driver preference to I suppose

5 steel it goes a long way, i bought a box of 12 to paint my trucks frame and ended up using half that with 3 thick coats

Neither will water. It depends on your Water methanol mixture. This won't be flammable, strictly for cooling properties.

Banks Meth Injection controller is the best on the market...snow is fine, but it's not tunable like the Banks system

Make sure you confirm that those extinguisher bottles can lay down. Most dry chem bottles must be vertical to work properly and fully discharge.
