The best rendition of this song I've ever heard, better than Moses Hogan, you guys came to my school one time, FDHS and I never forgot it. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING !
Believe me it is very well appreciated, every one of you should be extremely proud of yourselves for coming together and being one of the best college choirs on the East Coast, if not the US
i love how this choir coordinates so well in this song. you can hear every part. WOW. i really want to hear the song SINGS OF THE JUDGEMENT from you. cant wait! Please upload it if yall sang it. Thanks.
It's all about interpretation! And if you didn't like it then that's your opinion but that's what makes great music and great musicians. The director had an idea of what a battle was to him and he invisioned that. This was amazing! By far my favorite!
OK now i know the four best choirs of all time. Aeolians (Oakwood University), Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy choir, Norfolk state university choir, and Mormon tabernacle choir. :)
He started off slow because there are fights for tempo. Even with a great choir such as this one, the tempo speeds up. Better to start slow and end at regular tempo (which is usually what happens), than to start at regular tempo and end up racing towards the end.
The conductor needs to be flogged. Where did you ever hear or see a battle in slow motion. very good voices but the conductor needs to do his homework. check out the Moses Hogan Choir and you'll know what a battle is all about.
Dr. Haywood's interpretation can not be your thing. Nothing in the score says you should do it like the Moses Hogan Choir. This is supposed to be the fun part about music, how people interpret it.
Why don't you look at the credentials of the director before you say who needs to be flogged. It starts out slow to provide an accurate interpretation of a spiritual. Research before making ignorant comments. BTW, he didn't write the song and respects the composer enough to honors tempo markings in the music.

It really makes us good to hear you say that. We work very hard at our craft and it feels amazing to know our hard work is noticed.
This is one of the best recordings on TH-cam.! Great job.!
Symone had SAAAAAAANG that note at the end honey!
We don't compete. We are both equally great in our own rights.
excellent, excellent!
Alrite...! Good interpretation!!
Amazing interpretation. That snatched on down then to open the down at the end giving the basses the shine then open the basses and baritone up
Interesting interpretation!
