Battlefield 5 SUPER Salt Chat Reactions

- Are you prepared? Have you already eaten? Because this level of salt is a bit much. Recorded from three rounds in a row, there is a slow start to it all so please stay with it but once it picks up the stuff really starts to fly. As for the most recent Battlefield 2042 cinematic trailer I'm not privy to any insider information so all speculation comes from the trailer and information mentioned by others. I'm a bit skeptical of the changes to Conquest simply because they seemed to only focus or showing specific parts of maps so it's hard to gauge how big it really will be or if there is a really detail center area and a bunch of sparse surrounding areas that while still playable areas are minor sectors/capture points, nothing really to note so not a lot of fighting happens there and the focus/chokepoints are the center areas. I guess we'll have a better idea of the overall game based on the next trailer which is supposed to be the gameplay trailer
Probably one of the larger concerns most should have is how they are going to differentiate friend from foe because in the trailer the player models for both sides seemed pretty similar and with even more players on screen there is going to be even more icon overlap ( friendly player icons overlap enemies sometimes making it confusing ).
One odd thing I'd like to note from the trailer. Regarding that Dawnbreaker moment scene with all the infantry on the roof and the little bird shooting them. Did all those infantry players spawn up there? Like spawning on that objective puts them on the roof or could there be, dare I say it, elevators? Just curious if we are going to get magic elevators again :P
Specialist thing is meh, it sounds like they wanted to put a spin on what is basically "loadouts" under a class. There is a few questions I have regarding it though. Since all classes can all use the same weapons there is a large possibility of a "most optimized" or best all around class/specialist/weapon. Are there limits or can literally everyone spawn as it? If so wouldn't that be kind of weird? I mean in BF3 everyone played as medic/assault and in BF4 after the SRAW nerf was basically medic/assault so it's not uncommon with Battlefield games for everyone to play as one class I'm just wondering if forced variety would be a good thing. I could be overthinking that issue ( 128 players all playing the same class/specialist/weapon ).
Wingsuit thing is kind of dumb because unless I can kill another player that is using a parachute midair by flying through them with a wingsuit I don't really see the appeal. I guess it could just be one of the tacked on gimmicks this time, there are a few this time.
Still too many unknowns for vehicle systems and spawns related to that. The trailer showed the pilot bailing and having a flight suit on so does that mean they spawned into the plane or does their player model change when they get in it? Kind of pointless speculation at this point I'm just skating around the issue that might be a point spending resource system for assets like tanks and aircraft ( think SWBF2 ) instead of them being tied to objectives and being map spawns.
I still don't know what the unknown variable is for how they managed to increase the player count to 128 without it breaking. Worst case scenario is every player in the server on one objective, so a PC and next gen consoles having to render 128 players all at once. Either they made some breakthrough with updates to the Frostbite engine or we are going to see some messed up occlusion culling issues ( teleporting player models, invisible players, etc. ).
As for the Frostbite engine, I heard it's the "latest version" but I believe that to be technically false since they started developing the game three years ago this would be the latest version of the Frostbite engine from three years ago ;) Last I heard the Frostbite development team released a new version of the engine twice a year and it was up to the game development studios on which version they actually used.

I put some initial thoughts on the most recent cinematic trailer for Battlefield 2042 in the video description.
jackfrags has a video on how some on the systems work, like transport vehicles are unlimited and called in from an in game tablet.
loudout changes are just for attachents.
I enjoy hearing your thoughts as always, and I really think you should reconsider doing commentary to explain them more in-depth. I think you have a unique outlook on the series, and it would be a shame to not share it.

I've been following ravic for 6 years since bf3, bf4, bf1 and bf5 and I always laugh with chat reaction and wtf moments. I can't get tired of watching and repeating all the videos and seeing the crying in the chat

The specialist system and the attachments being changed on the fly is going to end up with 128 players all the same specialist and the one meta gun. It’ll have a rds and then you can change it to an acog or 6x to snipe. It’s going to be so broken.

Pretty sure the attachments changing on the fly is going to be a wasted gimmick, people will always settle on something that works for everything and leave it at that. No chance someone decides to change attachments just because they are entering a building.

@@Ravic yeah, I can only see it being used if it allows a semi auto sniper to be used as an AR (change the sights, barrel length etc) on the larger maps with a mix of long and medium ranged engagements.
@@happyspanners My guess is they are going to replace the select weapon fire mode key/button bind with the on-the-fly system to change attachments because controllers are limited and I don't know what else they could use to replace with.
Man maybe if they stopped typing so much and were actually playing the game it might have been at least closer.

He definitely does but watch the minimap in footage. I think the man has played so many rounds on each of these maps that he just runs the calculus of where people are likely to come from and be at based on what points are moving/capped. He gets tons of kills from people who aren't blips. Its just talent and mastery and time.
I would say it's more like counting cards than calculus.
@@Ravic Good analogy. I was using calculus as a "method or system of reasoning" for tracking where you expect shots to come from rather than actual mathematics.
@@LionidasL10 You could certainly use it when applying it to mouse sensitivity/dpi to find the optimal rotation for whatever game you are playing ( it may be similar to what you are trying to describe but honestly I think statistics would be more appropriate from your description ). It's just a theory but it was something I noticed in BF4 that there was an optimal sensitivity where if you were on a flag and trying to capture it your mouse movements where you'd rotate to check areas of possible incoming enemies would be natural to your normal idle rotations of the mouse. Sorry it's a hard concept to describe and I've only tried explaining it to one other person. Another way to put it is your natural mouse movements, looking left or right, turning around, etc. would land you in a direction an enemy is likely to come from the majority of the time, not a lot of wasted movements or minimum/optimal effort so focus can be applied to other areas like sound or reading the map/mini-map. The problem is, this is player specific and I don't have a starting formula as there are too many variables to include for it to be useful for all players ( the arm or wrist players part really throws a wrench in things ).

while there is a literal hecking mini map that lets you see where enemies are when they shoot, and you can see where the bullets came from by following the bullets

Regarding the engines you mention in the description. Is it possible they are using 2 different versions for current and next gen to accommodate for the capabilities each system can output? Seems like alot of extra work but I wouldn't put it past them
They are doing something similar to BF4 where they just lower settings and player counts for the current gen. What I'm talking about in the video description is something else like the worst case example I mentioned. Could my current gaming PC handle rendering all 128 players when they are within 50 meters of my character? Probably but at what cost? What fps would I have and would it actually have zero issues rendering their player models? Because with BF3, BF4, BF1 and BF5 they've all had issues rendering player models that were related to occlusion culling and it's an issue that gets worse the more players that are on screen.
