A walk around Tintern Abbey ruins, in Monmouthshire, Wales UK. I visited this place on 21st June 2022. Bit windy in the last few minutes of the video. Hope you enjoy.
Cheers WBW another interesting tour. It looks like a ruined cathedral in anything but name.It also looks more castle like than many other cathedrals but this may be down to the type of stone used in construction. A lot of the buttresses have been destroyed or damaged, which suggests to me that the abbey was deliberately "vandalised" rather than being an unfinished work in progress. Thanks once again !
Hi Gavster, When I watched the video footage, I noticed a lot of scorch marks on the ruins. Just seems odd they left so much of it, when they demolished most Abbeys in the time of Henry viii. Thanks for commenting 🙂
Absolutely love Tintern abbey, it's really cool to wander inside and just see the sheer size of the place, this is a great video, really clear day and footage :) looks like you had the place semi to yourself! always a bonus! :D
Hi, I think it wasn't finished, because there's so much of it left standing. Whereas most of the Abbey's Henry viii had demolished left very little ruins. Thanks for commenting 👍
0:49 the basilic was hit by something something that came in right behind your back. im betting a whole lot that if digging was done here they would find a thick charcoal layer, that thing is scorched. also by cross referencing the precipitaion and temp records with a genetic analysis of some of the Lichens colonies found on these walls it would be possible to actually date that thing without any interference from the Reseters. edit : LIDAR survey of that place is required. edit : 2:48 buried staircase at your right. the block works is shody so it caught my eye. that thing probably has some massive 'catacombs'. edit : i wish you could have shown the other end of 3:24, obviously that thing is symetrical and they dont want us to be able to reverse engineer it. highly condemnable behavior, also birds are psycho-pomps, some humans are too. edit : 7:37 Sephirot ? edit : 8:52 that 'stone' windows frame is gorgeous.
Nice
Thank you for walking us through. I love the boots on the ground work you do. Blessings from Perth Australia
Many thanks 😀

Thank you.
Beautiful Abbey ruins, so vast! What makes you think it wasn't finished rather than demolished/ruined? Thanks for taking us along 😁

I think they are the remains of columns.
