I have worked on and with them, it's tricky to operate and don't get me started on changing bits that have been corroded into the metal from salt and water rusting them. Dayshift would leave lots of bits and a mess almost every time so it made for lots of maintenance. Beating the bits out with a 6-8 pound sledge was either satisfying when it went smooth or frustrating when corroded, albeit a very good workout. @lordlandbeast

Salt cant collapse under the pressure so they do not need nothing.. also they will never cut through whole rock but 10m for example then left 5m salt pillar for protection, thats the rule in mining. Room and pillar method, you cant get 100% of any mineral reserve.
Roofbolting comes right behind it a machine has a little metal top above operators head so he dont get nothing fallen on him. Then everything else behind them
Wow! What a machine! So I'm right! I keep hearing this sound. Didn't know where it's coming from. Then I thought! Mining! Way Under my house! 👎 But I can hear it!
@@carholic-sz3qv for example the Maximum cutting height is better. Besides for me Eickhoff has a better service and delivery time. But i need to admit sheare loader SL900 and SL1000 from Eickhoff are way better than the CMs

You're lucky I've been spending the last 12 years trying to find a job in the coal mines and they won't hire me because I don't have any experience

I like heavy equipment. The operator is a very good skill. Very good engine sound. Thank you from Japan.

It is for maintenance purposes, they have to change the tooth after some times
E bello è anche utile per scavare
Different machines, plus you've got to change the bits in the cutter head and sometimes the bit lugs have to be replaced.
Bought one from home depot
@Hunter1960 yeah no shit bird brain
Wow, this is so efficient
Very nice video good work 👍👍👍
I mined coal for 34 years I would like to have tried Salt one time

아주 멋진 장비 입니다.
It is a good heavy machine. They are cool. I enjoyed the video.
When your parents tells you to stop playing by yourself
I wish they would build a miniature working continuous miner, like a RC they you could dig with in the yard or somehing
Maybe you just thought up a cool new invention!🤔.
You need to make it yourself though. If you want to make money. 👍
You can get the 1/50 scale model replica by Weiss Bros. Very detailed model.
My 1/50 arrived today. Very detailed. The tracks move. The "bed" rises up too. Love the teeth. Reminds me of an alien or ocean creature.

Salt Mining?

Nice video
My dad works these things in West Virginia he’s broken his legs and shoulder but he’s ok back in the mines
What do they dig for?
They dig to make tunnels, but they also use them to dig for coal😁

Is this only use for coal mining?
No. It can be used on any soft rock like coal, talc and salt
The roof is so low and flat with no supporting pillars. It could easily cave it.
Salt cant collapse under the pressure so they do not need nothing.. also they will never cut through whole rock but 10m for example then left 5m salt pillar for protection, thats the rule in mining. Room and pillar method, you cant get 100% of any mineral reserve.
I don’t see what keeps the roofs from falling in where they’ve mined at

ssman operator oh I see now thanks a lot GOD BLESS. That makes perfect sense to.
ssman operator ......, . ....
They leave behind large pillars of material when they're mining ahead. If they're retreat mining, they still don't take all the coal.
Are they mining pure rock dust?😂
