Been watching your channel for a while, great playing and intelligent reviews. I purchased the Tumnus and the Moxie and use them in my gain stages into a Pantheon and then into a Tech 21 FlyRig V2 for a go direct live and recording solution. This rig is brilliant now! I am constantly getting compliments on the guitar tone. Thanks Dan and Brian Wampler!
Wow! Fantastic video and I think you're the only one that has done an A/B, AB comparison between the 3 pedals, however, I think it would have been worth including the Plexi-Drive mini as well - which is another great light overdrive by Wampler in the same family of these.
The Belle is my favorite and I use it with my Tumnus Deluxe. But I also have the Mini Tumnus and the Moxie. This video gives some great ideas for running them together. 🙏
Superb video! 🙌 I love Wampler Pedals in my gain stage. I’ve already got the Pantheon Deluxe, Belle, Tumnus and I’ve just ordered the Moxie. Love the way you incorporated all the pedals together! 👍
Sounds glorious! I have a Tumnus and a Strymon Riverside on my board but for my band's stuff the Riverside is too much gain. I just bought a Moxie to take the Riverside's place....manageable gain...sounds glorious!
Good comparison. I was wondering how the Moxie was going to sound next to the Tumnus. I usually put my Tumnus before my tubescreamer but this video gives me a good idea of how they will work together. Thanks
Excellent video! Since I saw Brian’s launch video, I was wondering exactly what you did here, so thank you very much for that. I do have the Tumnus and I was considering another OD pedal but choosing it was confusing even when looking at Wampler’s products, great job to make it easy to me. Awesome playing, subscribed to your channel, hopefully you get to 10k in the next days. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
@@DanLeggatt haha. Exactly! That’s what I mean. You’re clearly a “players player” and have the instincts and ears, so felt it was time for the flip, so; that’s a channel I want to get opinions from. Cheers.
Personally I prefer the bigger box with top mounted jacks. No matter how flat the plugs on your cables are, it still takes up almost as much space. Plus with my big feet I need the buttons as far apart as “normal” size boxes anyway.
Hi Dan, great to see you. Excellent video, you’re the best gear demo guy and good to see that you are nearly at 10k subscribers (I knew you would get there) and hopefully it will continue to grow. I liked the way you played a SRV type riff without playing a SRV riff, 😎 cool.
Thanks for putting this together- it’s very helpful! Do you think one could get Tumnus/Klon style sounds out of the Moxie with an EQ pedal? Simply flip the “VOICE” switch to the right and bump the lower mids up?
Thanks for the vid. Solid comparison. I like the Moxie but think I’d get the Belle first as I’ve already got a couple screamer type pedals. I don’t have anything like the Belle.
I'm simple rig, always on. I have a germanium mini fuzz face running (via a mini EGO compressor) into a Tumnus Deluxe into a UAFX Ruby. I play with the GTR volume to dial in the distortion/fuzz I need. While I love fuzz I would also love to have access via the same "always on" a more traditional distortion so I've spent the last year trying to investigate how to do this. I loved you video. It's amazing how many channels don't give a genuine stack comparison. Having said that it's also amazing how nobody ever shows how OD/DS pedals work at lower GTR volumes. What do you think?
I have the belle and tumnus and love them! I've never been a screamer fan but damn the moxie sounds good! Might have to get one. I like stacking the belle/tumnus with my ratsbane. You can get some seriously filthy sounds!
Excellent illustration of the contrasting characters of these three pedals. Hmmm. A mission, should you choose to accept it: "Using an EQ pedal of your choice, see how close you can get these three pedals to sound like each other".
Any thoughts on which of the Belle and Tumnus would work better with Channel 2 (BE style) on the Friedman IR-X? To be an in-between sound from the base channel to the boost channel? Some tonal coloration is ok, but not too much.
🤣 Possibly. Only joking, if they all sound the same to you, you’ve saved yourself having to buy 3 different pedals! 👍 I would say in certain settings there is similarities but they sound very different in most cases and react differently. That’s just my ears though. Tone is in the ears of the beholder!
Actually the Tumnus has a higher mid-hump than the Moxie, not a lower one. The standard TS mid-hump is around 740-ish hrtz and the Klon is around 1000.
Interesting. It sounded lower to me at the time. I guess it’s because it sounds ‘fuller’ in stock mode. More bass content and less of an extreme peak I suppose.
@@DanLeggatt The Tumnus is also specifically noted for having more bass than a typical Klon, so that may also have something to do with it! But yeah, the mid peak is definitely a few hundred hrtz higher. 👍🏼
W H Y did you demo these 3 Wampler pedals - with the TONE on the Tumnus so L O W ? compared to the others ?? It would have been so much more expressive to Really Hear The Tumnus - with at least 12 ockock Tone ! And then you did let us hear the Moxie with full gain - But NOT the other Two for a comparison !!! maybe do it again ? But Thanks !
Because you dial something in with your ears, not your eyes. That’s where it sounds best to my ears. I don’t make videos of sounds I don’t like. Perhaps it’s your turn to make a video for these pedals 👍
I have been disappointed with every wampler box I've owned save one.the mini plexi.the Belle absolutely sucks, and to this day I don't get the tumnus it's a tonal turd.the moxie sounds good but it's another screamer.BRIAN ARE YOU BORED?
Im in love with the Belle's tone. I might have to fet one!
Digging the Wampler Belle!!!

Wow! Quite a chain

Good thought, I don’t have one unfortunately.
I kind of like that "honky" thing that happens with the Tumnus and Moxie together. All 3 pedals are keepers for sure. Thanks for the demo.
Fantastic video! Own the Moxie and am seriously considering getting the Tumnus. Great playing as well 🤙
Me too, got the Moxie, will stack well with the Tumnus deluxe 😊
Wampler makes great pedals ❤
This is the video we needed.
Those three make one heck of a drive section.
The Belle is my favorite and I use it with my Tumnus Deluxe. But I also have the Mini Tumnus and the Moxie. This video gives some great ideas for running them together. 🙏
When you had the Moxie doing hi gain and doubled back to the baseline sound I subbed. Every drive pedal demo should do this.
The moxie looks great. Very versatile. I might swap my jhs 3 screamer for this as its too bright.
Superb video! 🙌 I love Wampler Pedals in my gain stage. I’ve already got the Pantheon Deluxe, Belle, Tumnus and I’ve just ordered the Moxie. Love the way you incorporated all the pedals together! 👍
Im liking the Moxie and the Tumnus together ❤😊
I bought the moxie running into a inferno distortion and booster with EQ . Sounds great
A great review! Thorough, interesting, pleasant, and an excellent player. Great job Sir.
Glad you liked it!
I think with your particular rig the Moxie sounds the best, but I agree that all three are great options
Sounds glorious! I have a Tumnus and a Strymon Riverside on my board but for my band's stuff the Riverside is too much gain. I just bought a Moxie to take the Riverside's place....manageable gain...sounds glorious!
Great video, thanks, Dan. I hear Wampler is coming out with a new pedal, the Tinnitis. It is supposed to be super loud! ;)
Really great comparison! Just what I needed
excellent examples! Thanks.
Great vid, thanks for showing some stacking.
Great demo. A TS10 is a good idea from Wampler.
Excellent video Dan. Great playing!
This is a GREAT review and comparison - love from Nashville TN
Wow those stack really well thanks for this! I have that same Odyssey too!
FGN are definitely underrated! Thanks for watching 🙏
Tumnus for me such an awesome Pedal
Good comparison. I was wondering how the Moxie was going to sound next to the Tumnus. I usually put my Tumnus before my tubescreamer but this video gives me a good idea of how they will work together. Thanks
has intentado colocar 1º el Tubescreamer y 2º el Tumnus ??
Great demo and comparison!

Really appreciate the subscription 🙏 Helped push the 10k!
Really helpful video man. Thank you.
Liked and subscribed at 0:12 on the pickup switch. "THIS dude gets it". Cheers
🤣 Thanks mate. I’m all over the controls all the time, it’s just instinct now, barely realise I’m doing it until I watch the videos back.

Great demo bro!
Great review! Thanks.
AWESOME demo!!!!!!!!!!
Wowww.. Amazing sound.. Amazing guitar player... Satisfying
Very kind. Thanks 👍
Love that FGN, I have the LS20 and love it.
I like the small footprint. There's space on my board and they sound good.

Nice video. I'm probably going to end up with all 3 on my new board, though the Tumnus as part of the Gearbox 😂

Belle and Tumnus
Great demo Dan!
“A hideously overused word that doesn’t really mean anything.” Perfect description of the use of “transparent” as it relates to overdrives.
🤣🤣 I was probably being a bit harsh. Should have said something more like ‘it’s lost all meaning in a lot of cases’. Thanks for watching 🙏
Soooo I have the tumnus, came here for the moxie but actually loved the Belle haha
Glad the video helped 🤙

besides the beautifully executed comparison, i NEED to know what model that guitar is...
It is an FGN Odyssey Standard 👍 Really great guitars for the money.
Greer Lightspeed!!
@12:20 am I crazy or does the flat Moxie sound identical to the standard belle?
Great idea for a video! Subscribed. Cheers (Also digging the white Fender Knobs on your FGN, check out Bruce Bouillet rocking an FGN on my channel…)
I have the exact same fgn odyssey standard model only in antique white.
It's a brilliant guitar, good for any genre of music.
Does tumnus play nice with your origin 20?
It does. Sounds great but I personally prefer the Moxie.
What are your thoughts on the belle vs a pantheon?
Very different feel and tone imo. Hard to explain the differences. Both killer pedals.
That’s essentially the combination used in the Browne Protein!
Together rather than VS might be the best result
I can't hear a difference between all three. Is my hearing broken?
🤣 Possibly. Add the Rats bane and plexi drive minis.
