    Wonderful interview!FINALLY an Indian who talks about Climate change and its impacts! I don't understand why climate change does not make headlines in the news everyday, either in India or anywhere else....Its the most important issue .....more important than politics, religion, cricket, movies.....because our very existence depends upon it. He is one of the few voices of sanity in India.

    • @ShekharSircar
      @ShekharSircar 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He has been talking about climate and demographic changes in Indian Subcontinent since the publication of The Hungry Tide . This climate change narrative only came into fore after recent protest in west . Amitabh Ghosh has been telling us since a decade but nobody was paying heed to it .

    Love it when Mr. Ghosh pronounces the word Sunderban in a typical bengali way, whilst everything else is pronounced without any cultural inclination.

    Sriti's Smile....
    No wonder she feels compelled to add a smiley after every pleasantry.
    Anybody who's seen her will be reminded of it immediately.

    Best interview ever with Dr Ghosh and two superfans and that book banter back and forth is both enlightening and comical in turns. Does Dr Ghosh look like the guy from KFC, Kentucky fried chicken , colonel Sanders? A passing charming resemblance.

    Amitav Ghosh! I can't believe you guys got him. Before reading Amitav Ghosh I was quite ignorant about Indian writing in English. I was so blown away by the quality stuff he writes, it compelled me to find out more about Indian writers. I voraciously began exploring and reading Indian authors. So happy to hear Amitav Ghosh.

To give you the idea, I have Him as my wallpaper and I look at it amd everytime I think how he can be soo much better in everything he does. If if if and only if I could meet him. I am really not into asking for favours but if anyone out here can make me see him ever. I shall forever be indebted. Please please please I wanna seeeeeee him. However, crazy I may sound. Food, Literature and a profound liking for myths - Amitav Ghosh is truly a Bengali at heart no matter where he lives and how extensively he travels.
    PS - I'm not a Bengali but thanks to Ghosh' works, I've started learning the language and I so wish Ghosh decided to pen a novel in Bengali someday :)
    An interesting interview - I must admit it seemed a mix of casual and yet an erudite conversation
