@@RJMHuntingAustralia hello mate hope that you are doing well , I’m a pistol guy I shoot a lot CZ TS2 racing green 9 mm Glock 19 X . Ever since I saw your videos hunting in Australia I don’t know it’s such an adrenaline. I would like to start rifle shooting. I would like your advice in what rifle to get ( Remington 700 , Ruger precision 308 /223 ?) what you think? As a scope I think the Pulsar thermion like yours. Let me know please hot to choose my gear . Cheers !!!!
223 is probably the most versatile calibre. I use it for almost everything. I would suggest you go to a gun dealer and handle the rifles before you buy. See which one fits you best and feels the most comfortable to shoulder. Most brands are pretty accurate these days and the calibre you choose should be in line with the intended target species.
Thank you Sir you don’t have a preference for rifle type and make? I like the ones that have a military look such as AR 10 design. What range you normally shoot? Just asking like … no point to get a rifle that reaches 1000 yards if your bullet it’s not going to kill a wild pig. Right? In fact I see you killing at ranges between 100 and 250 mt. Let me know what is your opinion about it. Cheers
308 is effective on pigs out past 500m if you know your bullet drop. 223 out to about 200m on pigs with good shot placement. My 308 is a Rem 700 action and barrel with an MDT HNT26 carbonfibre chassis. Not the smoothest if actions but it gets the job done 👌
I appreciate the humane way you dispatch the animals. I am a cat lover but I understand how they have gone feral and are wreaking havoc on local critters. I also fly fish. You could make a bit of $$$ with the fur of the rabbits/hares and the foxes for tying of flies for fresh water and marine fishing. Animals carcasses are also good in the compost pile rather than a burn pit. Greetings from the eastern foothills of Alberta Canada.
That was brilliant stuff… What a haul and the mind boggles at how many lambs and how much wildlife you have saved as a result of this trip ( The farmer would have to be deliriously happy) Bravo 👏 👏👏
