I just bought this like yesterday off amazon for 293 dollars. After watching you're video I feel even more comfortable with what I bought. I been wanting to get in to Kayaking for a while but lack the space to store one. This seem like a good option. It was cheap compared to other fishing Kayaks. I figure I'd get this one in then in a few years upgrade to a more expensive one. Any way thanks for the video I'm glad I went with this one.
It is nice and quite sturdy. I had one for a few years with some patches already. The only thing I don’t like is the fishing rod holders that make the rods crossing. To solve this issue (to make the rod direction toward outside and not crossing), today I discover that 3/4” PVC connectors can make it. Just need a pair of bending 135 degree angle connector and a pair of straight connector. Combine each bending connector with each straight one using 3/4” PVC pipe. Also use the same PVC size to connect with the rod host on Kayak. Cut a little inner tube of bicycle tire waste to layer the pipe until it’s good fit to the host.
Just come across this as my mate is buying one , you can drop other rod holders in the holes, like T shape , then you are at the right angle with the rod beside you !
Also the electric pump that connects to your car is Soo much Better than the manual pump. I find the seats uncomfortable on my lower back are there better seats available?

@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures the issue with the trolling theory is that two lines will be right next to each other and probably cross/tangle. Also, if you get a fish on the line, one rod will bend into the other and could bend the eye guides of the rods.

A quick word of advise, the hand operated two way air pump that was provided with your INTEX Excursion kayak is also an "air-extractor", and it works great. The air-extractor method will deflate the kayak to the same state it was in when you first took it out of the box. It works a lot like one of those vacuum packaging devices for food storage.
Right, I was surprised that he didn't use it before putting the kayak back in the bag. The pump has two ports there at the top of the handle. One blows air out and the other sucks air in.

Great review! You really covered all the aspects of this model. I just bought & reviewed the normal K2 model. I’m not sure how sturdy this one is compared to the K2 explorer, but I would be careful doing anything while on the ground. I poked a hole in the bottom not even 5 seconds after attempting to blow it up as a TINY rock was sharp enough with some weight on it to pierce the bottom. Super annoying, and it can be a real pain to patch!
I have a K2 too and it seems more like a Sevylor Tahiti both being pretty good. But have to be cautious among sharp barnacles and rocks. But this Intex Pro series seems like the higher end Choice. Kinda like my Sevylor K1 river kayak or Colorado canoe. You could trashed them around quite a bit and not worry as much about barnacles and fallen tree branches. Definitely adds peace of mind out on the water. This Intex Pro is really well put together. Really informative video

I didn't know how to fold it until I saw yout video, thanks man. Could you make a video on how to open the valves? I couldn't figure it out however I tried.
Another thing I didn't know was you can suck the air out with the pump making it even smaller! Valves you just push them in & turn it's actually shown in the video at 0:25 , hope that helps
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Thanks man. I've tried it at long last! The weather wasn't good tho but I still went for it. I just couldn't bear looking at it anymore and even if there were big waves, I took it out. I didn't go very far because I didn't have my pfd with me so I didn't want to risk it but I never felt in danger. It's extremely stable and it was very fast in the water! I don't regret buying it one bit. I never tried kayaking before but I watched a few videos that explained how to row and it helped me a lot. p,s: the reason I couldn't try before was because the beaches were off limit because of anti corona measures. Then the weather wasn't good and I was kinda busy. I only recently had the chance to take it out and on both occasions the weather was bad. This third time, I couldn't bear not trying it any longer and just went for it!
If the pole holders aim toward the center of the kayak, if the pole falls out of the holder, it won't fall out of the boat. If the holder angles out and the pole fell out of the holder, you would lose your pole.
Nice review. Have been looking at this on Amazon. This helped me make up my mind. Plan on using it on some river trips on the Guadalupe, in Texas Hill Country with my wife. Don't think I would want to fish out of it.
Dude you will love it, also fishing out of it has been excellent but I don't have anything to compare it to. If you can please use my amazon link. Cheers for stopping by Justin
Max capacity is somewhat confusing. Icon indicates 400 lbs but other writing below indicates 2 person or 330 lbs. I would keep it below 330. The outside seams around the floorboards are not the strongest so the increased weight puts a great amount of stress on these points and a possible tear can occur.
Good review, but you missed out the fact that you can use the pump to pump the air out as well. That way you can remove pretty much all of the air easily and therefore fold it up smaller (and get it back in the bag)! Any idea why we in the UK have to pay almost double what you pay for this in the U.S.?
Excellent review. Thanks for sharing! I have the Explorer K2... I can't say I'm super impressed with it... but for the money, it is a good way to get on the water!

@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Hey, I might have a question...🤔 I've never used one...I have a bad back, after a couple of hours in my canoe and I can start to feel it. I'm wondering if u or anyone else can tell me "about" how hard they are on the lower back?!!!! 😃🤕
I would assume that the rod holders are designed to cross to minimize how far the rods stick out to the side, in order to avoid snagging on tree branches or a dock or other potential bugaboos.
I do love it when people say they would have been happy to pay more. Maybe the manufacturers or retailers will take your advice so the rest of us can benefit?????
Great question this one got stolen out my trunk around 20-25 uses, the sea eagle & AE have both held out for over 20 uses with no pops but I'm mostly using my dinghy now. Also making a video on choosing a kayak vs dinghy soon so look for that maybe next week. One thing I can say is don't be afraid of a pop these are actually safer than a lot of hard shell boats that will sink if tipped. Patching up a hole is easy & you will never need to re patch it, I see way to many people get a hole or find one after unpacking & toss out a perfectly good boat. Hope that helps, they are all great boats for the price I'd go with a Sea Eagle, these Intex boats can swing from $350-500 in a snap!
I think you use the pump to deflate it completely. The Velcro strip seems to be versatile and long for positioning. Can I attach the skeg while on the water, reaching underneath?
Sorry missed your question, the skeg I forgot to film. It comes with x2 of them one for shallow & one for lakes. The skeg slides in & locks, to get it off you press on a tab. You won't be able to reach over though the sides are a lot bigger than a hard shell kayak. That being said the thing is attached very very firmly, to break this off you would have to really be trying.
Great video! I have a hard body kayak. Looking around for a two person so my fiance can come with me. The hard body two person yaks really take up some room. So I think a good inflatable could be a good choice. I used to have an intex excursion 4 boat. That thing was a blast and had loads of room. I used to use it with a trolling motor. So I been a fan of intex ever since. I may pickup this pro instead of the explorer k2 or challenger k2. Seems more rugged and sturdy.
Only issue has become that the company does not have replacements parts available, for some time. Need new seats as neither hold air, seems to be at the valve.
Always wanted to give this a try but always been a bit uncertain about the blow up ones, although, as you mentioned it does have its advantages. Good review, cheers Alan
If you look up the Intex challenger or Explorer line they have a ton of positive reviews little over 2k, 4 1/2 star average. This is like one of them but on steroids. I too was a little off of the inflatable but I wasn't really able to find anyone having issues with them. This thing is beast like, really feels like something the coast guard would use.
No you need it, the skeg also helps stop you from endlessly spinning around, the times I have forgotten it I didn't notice it for a moment but when I had to make turns to get back - oh boy was it not fun. Think of it much like a tire that sits on a rim.
I took mine out for the first time yesterday and loved it! I have a question about the psi though, and I can't find that information. What psi do you blow each one up to? I want to make sure I am not doing too much. Thanks in advance!!

I'm taking this kayak to the sea and I hope I won't die while doing so!
Best of luck dude let me know how it goes!
I like your product review. It's clear and you even showed step by step. It help us decide if we are going to buy this. Thanks Bro.
Thanks Jerry glad it helped!
If the pole holders aim toward the center of the kayak, if the pole falls out of the holder, it won't fall out of the boat. If the holder angles out and the pole fell out of the holder, you would lose your pole.
i think the rod holders angled in so the oars don't hit them when paddling
The holes is depth enough to safely hold the rod. I prefer the fishing rod toward the other way.
Going to take this bad boy out on the Gulf of Mexico in a few weeks. Anybody got a problem with that?
I've seen on other videos you can use the pump to deflate, taking out most air and making it easier to fold
sorry, see this mentioned multiple times in comments. great vid though
Cheer though for letting me know :)
Nice video! I can see this being used this summer! Great review!
Oh yeah man it's coming for sure!
The chambers are numbered. Always do the bottom first. Then the sides.
Good review, but you missed out the fact that you can use the pump to pump the air out as well. That way you can remove pretty much all of the air easily and therefore fold it up smaller (and get it back in the bag)! Any idea why we in the UK have to pay almost double what you pay for this in the U.S.?
Prices after Covid doubled on most if not all Intex products prolly why. Last Christmas this was as low as $130.
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Wow! That's literally a quarter of the best price I can find for one in the UK!
Excellent review. Thanks for sharing! I have the Explorer K2... I can't say I'm super impressed with it... but for the money, it is a good way to get on the water!
Yeah I think they are a great step to see if you like it, thanks for the comment my dude
Nice kayak. I have a similar one and they are a good option when you don’t have The space. Enjoy and thanks for sharing
I’m getting my excursion pro this week! So excited
Oh your going to love it man this thing is more than I expected. Quality is just crazy. I for sure will be doing some videos from it in the near future.
Looking forward to it, I’m ready to get make lots of memories this summer on the water and seems very durable which gives me a an extra piece of mind, keep up the good work!
Did you end up getting your boat man?
Will Wild's Outdoor Adventures I sure did I should get it this Wednesday I ordered it online I’m already making plans for next weekend!
Awesome dude let me know how it goes, if you look in my videos you will also see a discord chat room feel free to drop by sometime!
When I un-couple the pump from the air valves, I lose a lot of air immediately. Is that normal or should the valve lock to prevent air escaping?
2 week BP trip, sounds amazing right now.
Great video...I'm ordering one right now. I've used a canoe for 40 years, but I've been wanting to try one of these.👍✌️🐟
Thank Scott
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures No trouble.👍
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Hey, I might have a question...🤔 I've never used one...I have a bad back, after a couple of hours in my canoe and I can start to feel it. I'm wondering if u or anyone else can tell me "about" how hard they are on the lower back?!!!! 😃🤕
Love the video! I think this will be the perfect kayak for wifey and me!
Thanks for watching & the comment good luck guys!
Great review. Bought one. Thanks!
I would assume that the rod holders are designed to cross to minimize how far the rods stick out to the side, in order to avoid snagging on tree branches or a dock or other potential bugaboos.
How does it handle open ocean? Or wouldn't you recommend going into the sea with this one?
I do love it when people say they would have been happy to pay more. Maybe the manufacturers or retailers will take your advice so the rest of us can benefit?????
I dunno will they?
@Will Wild's Outdoor Adventures how have this inflatable kayak (or others you've had) held up over time & use? Any holes, leaks, etc.?
Your 100% correct, I just got back from my third use of it & it for sure will take it down even more fitting it into the bag very well.
Hi - how many pounds of pressure do you put in the 3 chambers - I can't find that anywhere. I blew it up but have no idea what the pressure should be.
Good question I'm not near the boat atm but the pump it comes with you want to pump it up tell it's in the green if I can remember right.
Yeah this would be a much better choice or move up to an Advanced Elements
Thanks for the review mate... you covered alot and delivery was good 👌... Liked and subbed 👍
Thanks for the good words a sub broheim!
The pump has a deflate setting which is excellent. Great video though.
Wow! What a great review.Cover everything really well.
I'm very tempted to get one..
I have the Explorer and that is good but this looks like class.
Glad it was helpful!
Any tips for getting the skeg unstuck on the explorer?? I can't seem to get it out on and Ive tried it all.
Only issue has become that the company does not have replacements parts available, for some time. Need new seats as neither hold air, seems to be at the valve.
Yeah we can thank Covid for that not INTEX, these have also been selling for months over $700. Just screwed everything up
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures yeah, I guess so to a point, but really if you don't got replacement parts then stop selling the product until you do.
This thing is beast like, really feels like something the coast guard would use.
can we skip through skeg? or it's really hard to manuver without it? makes no sense to launch from a flat land to have it on.
No you need it, the skeg also helps stop you from endlessly spinning around, the times I have forgotten it I didn't notice it for a moment but when I had to make turns to get back - oh boy was it not fun. Think of it much like a tire that sits on a rim.
Fantastic review, thank you; most helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
I took mine out for the first time yesterday and loved it! I have a question about the psi though, and I can't find that information. What psi do you blow each one up to? I want to make sure I am not doing too much. Thanks in advance!!
Hello. Do you still have this kayac? How it holds up? I want to buy one but not just for one summer. Thanks in advance!
Very well done! Thanks for all the great info!
you seem like such a nice guy. thanks for the video; I'm setting mine up for the first time.
Thanks Rich! Best of luck setting it up be safe out there!
So i have look all over the internet looking for this.... what number should the guage read for the kayak.... doesnt state in the directions at all
Not sure what you mean friend can you try again?
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures I think he’s asking about the air gauge. How much air is it supposed to hold according to the psi reading on the gauge?
What a great idea! I was actually thinking about getting one too since last summer. I already have a raft I got from Amazon but it's a bit too big to handle, unless a friend of mine goes along with me and he rows😃 but the kayak would be much better on the river.. looking forward to some wild kayaking adventures! Bravo Will👍🌻🐾🌲🐻
I highly recommend it you would love it!
Looks like if you sit in the back (like your didn’t in the video). Your knees would be pressing up against the fishing pole holders.
mine comes in today, UPS says its out for delivery cant wait, great review. I'm going to use it solo on Mission Bay in San Diego (salt water), should i sit in the front or back? thanks!
Awesome man hope you have a great time & thanks! It has a configuration for 1 or 2 people so you will just be setting it up for one :)
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures So I can buy one with 2 seats and also use only 1?
@@dogensrb1108 Yes, in a more central position for even weight distribution.
Great review video. Thanks for making it.
I think we will be picking this up for ourselves.
They aren't fishing pole holders. They are fishing pole holder mounts. You're supposed to buy fishing pole holders that slip into those.
What does this Boat sell for please comment back thank you very much
How do you keep the air from coming out immediately after you remove the tube? We seem to cannot get the plug screwed in in time.
Literally in the first 30 seconds of the video I start to explain it
