Just took mine out for the first paddle today. Loved it! The bag that shipped with mine is different: it has a drawstring mesh top instead of a zipper, exterior pockets (for oars) and backpack straps. Not bad at all! Can’t wait to take it out again!
As for being light as a feather. Not I am 82 years old and to me this (or any boat) is bulky and awkward to carry. The kayak is 40 lbs. by itself anything you add to it makes it much harder to portage. I think the accessories including the back must weigh another 20 lbs. that is my only complaint. A bathtub toy? No way the 3 layers of the shell are very sturdy. Check one out. I’m sure you’ll be as surprised as I was. I noticed no tracking problems. I’m replacing the seat with a comfortable camp chair. Great support. Put a plywood floor in the boat to support the chair. (Or even a homemade trolling motor support. It stays inflated all day no problem it’s my first kayak and I truly love it. Great fishing boat. Thank you I text, it’s super
I'm looking at this for single use as I'm 6'2" and wanted the slightly longer version as it'll be used in the sea, mad idea but I want to add a side flotation and a petrol outboard 😊
I think this is a really accurate review. The Excursion Pro is a really fun piece of kit when it’s on the water - I’ve had some fantastic trips in it. The accessories let it down a bit though for the price, especially the bag. Love the tip on the booster seat!
Great video thank you! Quick update on price, here we are in September 2024 and we’ve just bought one of these on Amazon for £185!!! Can’t wait to get it on the canals 😊
Brilliant first boat for the money, but don’t expect it to last long; mine got a pin head puncture after a few weeks even after carefully looking after it. The included patch kit didn’t work. Ended up getting a refund, then tried an Aqua Marina (good too) before finally getting a proper hard boat.
Good review and as for the bag the single seat version now comes with a good quality rucksack type bag I bought my boat of Amazon for £148 which is a cracking price.
Agreed on many fronts. I’ve had mine and used it quite a bit for 3 years. I would classify my use as gentle and careful. I say that because leaks have been my issue, I’m on my third set of seats, as they come to deflate slowly and I could not source a leak to patch, so assuming it was the valves. Then late this past season I got an air leak in the bottom chamber which I could not source to fix like I had 6 or so time before. It was easy to patch and glue once the spot was found. So, now assuming that the most recent leak is also the valve and not repairable. As it deflates about 25% in an hour or so, it’s now garbage and I won’t replace with another Intex. I think the valves are not quality.
Here in the states I got mine for around $120 shipped. We have some good prices on them here, and that was for the K2, two seat model! Thanks for the review.
My lady just surprised me with one. I'm notorious for thoroughly investigating purchases on things like this. Golf clubs, toys, cars etc. Needless to say, i had to hide my concern with a big smile when she gave it to me. I digress; how's it holding up thus far?
@@sgodlike7911 holds up good, i have two of them now , family N friends go out with me all the time and we go fishing in them, they are strong as an ox. youll love it.
@@sgodlike7911 ya get an electric pump, i got an electric pump and it makes setup and takedown a lot faster. i got an intex cordless one and just taped the hose onto it with gorilla tape. works wonders. now i just set it up to pump and drink beers while its pumping. that way you dont have to do a workout.
Just isn't worth anywhere near the asking price. For that money just go to Decathlon and buy the Itiwit 100 2/3 person inflatable kayak. You're looking at serious money for the Intex Excursion and it's only really marginally better than one of their budget models like the Challenger K2 or Explorer K2. In fact the only reason I could see anyone recommend this over the Itiwit kayaks is that it isn't covered in slow drying canvas. Yea, for me it's a pass.
Great review Stevie. Looking at buying my first kayak in a long time & don't want to spend too much to start with. I'd like a back to back review of this kayak & the Exolorer K2 of the same brand. The comparison between them. Is there a chance? Please?
Great review! This was my first kayak. It has served me well. Like you said the bag doesn't last, I'm just about to replace mine. Do you have any recommendations?
Thanks! I recommended a Decathlon X100 bag to a friend and they said it fit really well. It's a backpack which was great for her as she takes in to the beach mostly
I wondered why you weren't using the straps to hold the floor in place before pumping it up. The different brand explains it. I noticed Decathlon have some small anchors, made out of cast metal. Do you ever use these if you are kayaking, in order to keep the boat in one place for taking photographs, or if the current threatens to drag it away when you are camped? Or in the latter case, do you simply haul it out of the water completely?
I've used a mooring line attached to a 5kg weight before - the round type you get on a dumb-bell. But it's more to carry and I don't use anchoring enough, so in future I'll just improvise with a rock or something on location
@@StevieWyatt : The anchors I had seen were of a folding type, with four prongs. They were about seven, or eight inches in length and weighed about 2kg. They were priced at £17.
Looking slick Stevie! love the review. This is one I have looked at a few times but wasn't convinced. Just a bit of critique / preference if you will, I do prefer the way you talk when your in the boat, it seems to flow better (pun intended). I guess it's a bit more relaxed and less scripted to a degree. I'll keep watching regardless just my 2 cents :) Keep em coming!
Good day, Do you think the tracking would improve if you sat in the center of the kayak (i.e., less zig zag motion)? Alternatively, do you think it would improve if you were in the one person version of this kayak. Thanks Peter
Um..In my opinion..no. It does track remember it just wags alot because it is sitting above the water alot. ..and is not rigid..Yes another in line skeg would help. My old Czech made one had a skeg that slipped onto the rear and you tied it on. It tracked without the wagging..it was narrower..hmm
Thanks for this video, it's a big help to people who want to try this beautiful sport without need for big investment. I tried the Intex Explorer K2 and will try this one as well soon. Appreciate!
brilliant video as always i got the intex k1 challenger it brilliant and comes in bag and i also brought hydro force cove champion lol hooked now lol happy paddling
would you happen to know to which degree of pressure the chambers are to be filled ? (i just bought a used one and i don't know if it is stated on the wall of the kayak itself)..
Damn, 1 seater is 215 usd on amazon in the states, its about the cheapest youll find a "kayak" - personally, i think it would be great to get started on but I want to invest in something a bit more durable and less looking like a pool toy (no offense) ;)

The sheer structure of the air chambers is thoroughly impressive piece of engineering. The material is PVC not Latex. Therefore is MUCH more durable.

I had the same boat and it dropped the bottom seam 2 times. Bought Dechatlon x100 with dropstich. Stability is also better than intex excursion.

Helpful review. What do you think about Bestway hydroforce inflatable kayak ?
Thanks! Haven't tried those yet but I'm compiling a list of kayaks to try out so I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion
One flaw is seam weld along floorboard. It will gradually rip/develop holes. Almost need to reinforce with strong glue.

Another great video and review Stevie. Could I ask a question please? How do you get your drone to track you in your videos?
Thanks Darren, I use an app called Litchi. It has follow mode and some other cool features. Practice on dry land first though!
Great review mate. Just wondered couldn't you have used the itiwit pump? with a different attachment
Thanks! Yes you certainly could, I wanted to show how it was using all the included Intex kit. But yes the Itiwit pumps have adaptors for this

Making the most of it while I've got it 😂
Do you think this is better than the itiwit 100? I'm really in doubt between the two because currently in my country they cost practically the same.
At the same price I would go for the Itiwit 100
@@StevieWyatt Thanks for the advice
I have this. The only issue I have is air immediately comes out when I disconnect
How does this compare to the Sea Eagle 330 /370 ?

Boa noite, qual link que você compra?
You got to learn to fish! Fishing and Kayaks go together; for me, they compound enjoyment of each activity.
Unfortunately with my intex both of the seats are losing air and one of the three chambers is losing air as well. Poor quality.
It's a shame because it goes well in water and is pretty stable. And I loved the pipe where I could attach my tablet and the sonar.
Have you tried to locate and repair the leaks ? It kinda comes with the territory with inflatables.
I agree, same thing happened to me. I was able to repair air leaks several time on the bottom, but valves on seats and now the bottom chamber gave up.
Did you try (deflated) removing the valves and reseating them to seal the leakage- as manual describes that came with patch kit.
Can I paint it camoflauge?
Is it a drop stitched floor?
Great video. Tx.
Prices since the vid have indeed come down, you can pick the K2 up now for £250
Nice review. 👍
Thanks Robert
Is it made of plastic or is the material canvas?
What's the difference between the Intex Excursion Pro and the K2 Intex Excursion Pro?
1 seater vs 2 seat
good stuff
