I seriously would have seen your dad & the Fossies in concert 30/40 times. He was a regular at the Council Club in Preston. I saw him play at Emu Bottom in Sunbury just after 'Against the Wind'. Last time i saw him live was at the Capital Theatre in Bendigo. His music was the music to my growing up !! I can't tell you how much i loved his music. He autographed many items for me over the years. Hope this helps ............
I've always been in awe of your papa you must be one very proud daughter.i never got to see him in person, but fell in love with him in against the wind. Guess I was a bit younger to have the whole concert experience. 6 ribbons used to make me cry but taught me humbleness its not what you have, but how you share it that's important Today I am remembering and exploring his talent. Hope he has gifted you guys with it also
you are on e lucky girl to have had a dad such as Jon English. A huge talent and a helluva nice bloke, we miss him greatly as would you Josie - we are with you in grief for the man taken too soon . xx God Bless.
I was a kid of 9 the first time I saw your Dad live. He was Judas in JCS! I fell in love with his stage presence, his fantastic voice and his sheer energy on stage. I spent the next 40+ years doing whatever it took to go see him live, watch any programs on him, following his career and of course, buying/listening to all his records/tapes/cds. He is very sadly missed by all his fans, specially this huge fan. He was fantastic, and so loved!
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,,,,

Awesome talent, once heard, never forgotten. I saw Jon as Judas in Superstar in about 1972....electrifying performance and great voice. I've always loved his version of Turn the Page by Bob Seger which is one of my top 10 songs of all time. Jon made it his own with just the right tortured rock star vibe to it.....outstanding talent IMHO, and sadly vastly underrated outside of we older Aussie diehards. I was in the UL '76 to '85 but a mad Scots mate Fergus Eddy kept me up to date through those years with Aussie legends like Jon and Cold Chisel.
❤OMG,so many memories of this absolute Aussie legend!!Loved him since I first saw him as Judas in Superstar when I was just a kid.Been kinda a platonic groupie ever since!!'Jokers and Queens' with Marcia Hines,Pirates of Penzance, revivals of Superstar years later(with most of the original cast),and every time Jon toured nearby I was there!!Last time I saw him was at a local club(deadset, some audiences just don't know how to party!).I was the only one who went to the dance floor when he sang "Beating the boards"-Jon jumped off the stage and danced with me!!😂Shouted me a Black Russian and didn't try to crack onto me.Maybe not the best voice or best looking guy,but definitely one of the nicest and most charismatic-jeez,if he'd become an evangelist he could've saved millions of souls.Miss you so much old raccoon eyes, party on with your mates in rock heaven.XOXO
It's 2024.. Artic Circle Finland, -30 celsius outside.. Listening this old gem makes me feel like I'm in that concert. I wish I could travel back in time 😢
i remember watching and liking 'all together now' on german television back in the nineties. just recently i remembered this show, researched it, watched it again and fell in love (so to speak) with jon english. such a nice, funny guy with a wonderful, smokey voice. too bad, that he's almost unknown here in germany nowadays. so i guess it's now up to me to tell people about his great musical legacy and above average sitcom (especially for the 90's)... people should really know the name jon english. ;)
Sings from the heart, I remember going to a live show for " all together now" great funny night & before the show started Jon was greeting people at the entrance so humble & down to earth... so likable.

@josieenglish6334 Hi Josie! Love his rockvoice! I’m playing one of his songs - Six Ribbons - in my folkrock band Nikoleje-Svendene here in Denmark! If only I could see him live in concert today….❤

This brings back wonderful memories of my dad. Reminds me of watching him sing from the wings as a little kid.
