It's crazy how the most zealot of fans always think it's a competition. Like there can never be just many or even just several great singers. Someone has to be the best, no matter how different their sound and style is. Someone has to be the best. Probably a uniquely American thing.

For those critical of Steve Allen, he was pretty brave to go ahead and have Elvis on his show following the firestorm of protests from the week before for the bump-and-grind version of "Hound Dog" that Elvis did on Milton Berle's show. There were officials from the FCC in the wings waiting to arrest somebody while the show was on the air. Don't forget that Jerry Lee's first network TV appearance was on Steve Allen's show, and Allen gave Lewis free reign to tear the joint up.
Good sport. By that grin, you know he wants to break out. Never be another entertainer like ELVIS. A real southern gentleman with a magnificent talent.
It is hard to imagine an entertainer, person or phenomenon more suited to the stage than Elvis Presley. He had a genius for musical phrasing that captures the ear immediately, no matter what one's musical taste. People take in information in many ways. Some of us are visual learners; some auditory learners and some kinetic learners. No matter what our learning strength, Elvis' presentation fully impacts us in a way accomplished without negatively compromising our spirit. Thus we cannot help but being uplifted by his performances. These are only some of the reasons Elvis will be part of our social fabric and memory for as long as these films of him are available.
I saw this on TV as a 9 year old Kid. I didn’t know what to make of Elvis singing to a Bassett Hound. Soon after, my mother bought me the 45 of “Hound Dog/Don’t Be Cruel”. I’ve been a fan ever since. What a great voice he had in those early days. The phrasing accentuated by that unique vibrato has never been equaled. He was a very special talent. No wonder he changed the world.
Elvis started a revolution that we are still in. We don't know as of yet what it's all about because we're still in 'it' but future historians will all agree that that young good looking kid (and his guitar) from Tupelo Mississippi utterly transformed our civilization
That's not an easy song to sing. Elvis is doing a great job of managing those chords. I don't think there are too many singers around who could handle that tune

Still love you great Elvis. From Mauritius 🇲🇺 ♥ 2023
That's not an easy song to sing. Elvis is doing a great job of managing those chords. I don't think there are too many singers around who
could handle that tune
Any song Elvis sang ended up sounding amazing.
What a voice !
