Must you use a new led board
Correct only the LED. Headlight body and power supply remain functional.

Should test new COB at low voltage, just enough to light LED's and verify there are no hot or cold spots.
You're right, being new I didn't think about it!
You should have used thermal paste behind it. This is the reason they fail, as they overheat
