I had a cable lift C-6 back in the 70's. I cleared a lot of acres of woods and fence rows with a homemade stump splitting blade. Also dug a lot of ponds. Awesome machine.
Those machines are just absolutely freaking animals. And you got to love that they got the old screaming Jimmy but them damn things will push and push and push it's just freaking amazing what kind of push they got and especially having a screaming Jimmy 671🎉
@@dieseldoctor25 damn right you know . For people who have never run one of these Green machines they don't know the whole story behind them. Not just about the noisy Detroit it's a matter of the that damn thing was built like freaking like Hercules everything that Euclid attacks built was built like Hercules
I can remember my dad sneaking and riding me on it it was very loud but it would sure push some dirt he Also.ran a terex scraper it was a big machine it had peddles for loading air conditioner in the cab but I can't remember what it was hey thanks for the video that was a trip back in time sure ty for your video
Great video! Looks like a great running old Terex bulldozer, with lots of power to push down good sized trees! I'd like to see more videos of the Terex bulldozer pushing trees & clearing brush!
Hi nice to see these two machines working , there’s not so many of them left now. I hope you will keep them in running condition. Euclid made rugged equipment for sure . I have two 8240 dozers , a 1966 AA model that I am upgrading the track gear , BIG job and a 1970 DA but she has been abused but still runs okay , needs new track rollers . They are very hard to find . The AA is my favourite hope to finish her off soon .
@@dieseldoctor25 definitely, we have a Chevrolet Bison with an 8V71 we use to haul grain from the field home, it's loud but at least it's not right by your head
The Terex machinery was as much dinosaur as they were monster. It's a treat to see one (or two) running again and pushing bush down. In the 70's i remember them arriving for field trials where Euclid Poclain and Caterpillar were moving mountains. Especially the twin engined scrapers were similar sounding rowdy blasted machines. You're hard pressed to hear the Caterpillars. There were huge wheel loaders and trucks also . The green machines sure stood out from the crowd tho
It called you walk over there an tear you a liem out of one of those trees an lay it on the track an say look here now .... there will be no running away today now ....
Detroit diesel was a 2-stroke engine. Like a chainsaw, fuel injectors were cam operated & would stick locking the rack that all injectors are attached to making the engine run wide-open .
How can a person tell if a 6-71 is a 2 or 4 valve? My intake flapper was stuck open so I removed the blower cover to see what was going on. Somehow moisture got inside and rusted-welded the shaft w/ flaps. With heat the shaft was eventually freed up. After replacing the cover, we attached a small cable to the shaft lever and ran it back into the cab in case of a runaway.
I did that about 15years ago, the rails are junk! The bushings worn bad on 1 side trying to get some more life out of under carrage. In that amount of time only 1 other person saw that! wow

I cant even imagine enduring that sound for any amount of time

Started wrenching in 84 there was still a lot of 2 stoke noise on the jobs but I have spent way too much time on those snorkelifts
Yes I started in 78 sure went by fast.
You know it’s loud when the mic almost cut off hahaha
this is why my ears are bad! lol.
I learned on Euclid/Terex...enjoy the 2 stroke sound but coming through my bluetooth not so much...
cool, always need good ear plugs.
Awesome mike great old machine what do you mean as running away fuel is wide open??

Remove the valve cover see if 2 or 4 valve
@@dieseldoctor25 Without taking the valve cover off, I was wondering if there was a year when GM made the switch.
@@Caje-zf8md no way to tell how many people have been working on it
The runaway engine prevention methods & devices you use are good, but isn't the main thing to check for are freely operating fuel injector racks?
yes that correct!
but the rack might be free & when the engine turns over plungers go down & rack sticks. BE CAREFUL.
Yea if that thang got stuck on full fule wow that would be wores than telling a woman no shit going to get rough probably wand up in the News...lol
