Thanks for your review! I'm thinking about getting this vacuum and I wanted to make sure that it would do my hardwoods and my rugs easily and be light weight. It seems like it will do all that I need! (Because, let's face it, Swiffers will only get you so far.)
I got one and I love it. To test it I used my full size vac first and then used this shark and it got more dirt out than my other vac. Though the brush attachment could be a little wider it makes up for it by sucktion. I have 4 dogs and yesterday one of them had an accident upstairs that I didn't see till today so little parts of it it were dried into the carpet fibers and that brush and the sucktion got it loose and off. I love this little machine and will over time buy the other optional attachments too. Also I have the Sonic Duo from Shark for hardwood and carpet cleaning and their spot remover and the other carpet chemicals are absolutely amazing. You can see them start working the moment you spray them on. Love shark products!!!! And no they didn't pay me to say this.
Can you tell me if you are using a 300 model rocket? I desperately need a new vacuum! I have gone thru 2 new ones (Hoover Uprights), but I had to take them back because they scratched my laminate floors. This video is almost 5 years old... are you still pleased with this vacuum and do you think It would work with laminate floors and rugs as well. Would I have to use the floor attachment or could you just vacuum from floor to rugs without changing attachments. Do you think this vacuum is worth the price? Sorry for all the questions, but the one I am using to get by is held together with gray Tape! Thank You!
Ok. Well first of all I bought the UV450, model; today. Just got done using it. Keep in mind there are MANY models. My first impression is that I like it. But I don't like how loud it is, the motor is right next to your ears (well, close by). IT doesn't stand up by itself; you have to lay it up against something or set to on the ground. The rest seems ok. Cost me 159.00 at Costco.
You have the same name as my cousin. I have a vacuum cleaner just like that in red. My dad needs to take it apart in order to transform it into an upright vacuum like the Dyson.
I enjoyed your Shark Rocket video. However, here is my review. This vacuum really gives my arms a workout as it feels heavier than the 7-8 pounds stated on the box. The suction is great, but my dust cup was hard to use. Just pushing the button over a trash can didn't work for me. I had to use both hands to dump the dust cup and it was messy. My overall disappoint in this vacuum was being so heavy. I guess I'm weaker than I thought. I also believe it's way overpriced and needs quite a bit of tweaking to make a better product. I prefer using my Swiffer on bare floors. Returned my Shark Rocket and am looking for something better.
+French Lavender I love this vac and its by god not heavy with less than 8 pounds. Yes the button was a little hard to use to empty the bin but that was cause it was brand new. After a few uses it comes right open and empties easy without a mess at all. I also have a Sonic Duo that is fantastic on bare floors, hardwood floors and carpet and their stain chemicals are absolutely fantastic. I removed a 2 year old tea stain from a almost white carpet with not a bit left. Love those Shark products.

This is due to the design of the hose having this long metal rod for extension. Also, I haven't figured out how to get the hose back together quickly as it's supposed to nest into the base of the vacuum. This piece might just be user error though.Canister is just like all others, still have to take out the middle insert to get all the dirt out. I often make a mess around the trash as I'm trying to empty it, but the suction picks that right back up.*
