I stumbled across TWY a few months before "No Closer to Heaven dropped", its been almost 10 years and they are still easily my favorite band, the evolution of their sound and the changes in Soupy's word smithing has been legendary
37 years old. Crying to this song over and over. I'm really good where I'm at now. But I remember how close I was 20 years ago to not being where I am now. But I was brave and I stayed afloat. So now I'm here. Happy.
as a single parent of 2 that was really going through it, this song came on at the perfect moment one morning on the train to work last year. i reached into my pocket and found my daughters mittens. i cried the rest of the way to work. i knew that i had to get help and i have.
I remember seeing them on the Greatest Generation anniversary tour and once they finished the full album, Dan said to the crowd "I'm telling you right now, The Wonder Years are the best we've ever been. Stick around for another set." And then they came back and played Hum top to bottom. True legends. A band that grows with me as I grow. Plant a garden. Try to stay afloat.
The day after Hum dropped, I was listening through it for my second or third time. And my cat climbed into my lap during You're the Reason I Don't Want the World to End. And I fucking cried my eyes out when I got to "I don't wanna die, 'cause I gotta protect you!"
@@jakegyllenhaaals I saw them in Columbus, Ohio in mid March last year, and I don’t remember them doing it then. Seeing it here, it’s almost otherworldly.
I will be forever thankful to my beautiful amazing wife for putting me on to you guys! Thank you for all the years of incredible music and memories! My favorite band of all time and always will be ❤
I just fucking love this band. Growing up with them has been the blessing of a lifetime. How they manage to capture my feelings with each album cycle is incredible. It is beyond reason, and such a pleasure. Thank you for everything and all that is to come because of you.
I've seen partial recordings of this set before but was always disappointed that I couldn't find any video of this song being played live in Chicago. I never thought I'd be able to relive this memory again, so words cannot describe how overjoyed i am to be seeing this video over a year later. Thank you so much for everything that you do; this was truly a show of a lifetime and i will cherish my memory of that night for the rest of my life.
Thank you for being one of two bands that are constant in my life(the other is tbs at starland). Whenever you are come around I must see you guys. I’ve seen you 41 times across five different states. Just, thanks boys.
I got the chance to meet Dan a few shows back and I stuttered and didn’t tell him how much TWY has saved me ❤ and AWATR20s too. Such powerful lyrics and heart. Goddammit I love them
I lost both of my grandparents to pneumonia and breast cancer separation years ago guys my grandpa died of pneumonia last year of pneumonia in hospital in Texas you know and my grandmother died of breast cancer in 2013 guys this song hits me very hard in my heart amazing beautiful song amazing lyrics heartfelt performance sick vocals amazing video love it if my grandparents were here right now if their still alive they wouldve say “this song is phenomenal” but i know my grandparents looked down on me everyday watching over me amazing track great job guys 👏👏👏👏👏 love you 🥰
My idea for an F1 game: Cars and Tracks from every season back to 2010 (was that the first Codemasters release when they came back to F1?), more classic cars and old tracks (e.g. old Monza and Silverstone) going back to the 50s, then have a career mode where you decide what year to start (e.g. 1970) and you have 15 seasons, with cars, drivers and tracks progressing as they did in real life. You could have a fully immersed historical career mode, all the while still being able to play the current cars and tracks, and maybe collect classic cars via career or single player, or even multiplayer milestones. I've been playing GT4 again recently and its a blueprint other driving games should be looking at.
I was there and we were definitely load as FUCK! I didn't notice any crowd mics anywhere on the stage but they might have mixed it down for this. What a show
Where my grown up sad teenagers at? Crying to this song? aight same...

Man, it's been 2 years and the entirety of Hum still hits like a Mack truck
This song saved my life.
This song hits a lot harder now than it did. Kids will really change you from the inside out.

TWY simply does not miss. Dan is so relatable and accessible, but still so profound in his outlook on life.
The lightbulb on the mic stand is so vivid in my mind, I thought about it the entire train ride home 🫀🫀🫀🫀

If you ever have the chance to see them live, do it. I've seen them three times and it's simply wonderful.
@@802Garage I waited for them to play close enough to me before seeing any other band I wasn’t playing in or a roadie for.
Insanely worth it.
The Wonder Years is the reason I don't want the world to end.
That drummer shot is so raw and powerful, it adds so much to a great video. Hurray 🥁

I'm getting Ben Folds vibes on this one.
The news keeps getting worse...
Did they ask the audience not to sing along so they could video this? I could never NOT scream the lyrics at their shows!!
