Like a warm summer day sitting beside a creek among pines! Dr. Still captures the restorative beauty and simple joy of the natural world. Not Beethoven, thank God. He could have learned a few things about simplicity and sincere thankfulness and humility, instead of thundering and crashing, which he mistook for musical passion. True genius always understates in understanding. So...here are true living pastoral motifs, so soothing for the soul.
@michaelcarroll7621 Other than his String Quartets and Ninth, he is the most overrated composer on the planet. He is the cult of personality in music, but as a composer Bach, Mozart, Glazonov, Dvorak, and many others are far superior. There is a great deal more than Beethoven!!
So what you are saying is you don't like Beethoven, therefore he is a bad composer. You are certainly entitled to your own tastes, but disliking something does not make it bad. I like Dvorak and Glazunov too, but that doesn't make them better composers.
@@michaelcarroll7621 I'm saying popular approval, i.e., liking a composer, as well as public familiarity, are not acceptable standards of critical judgment in music or art.
Like Paradise!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful! I can envision the mansions of the Deep South and weeping willow trees by the riverbank.
Part III is magical
I really like how he uses harp!
thi.s music MUST be played more often
wgs is amazing, radio stations need to play his stuff more
I am gradually discovering the classical music of black composers
There are so many, and with varied styles.
Beautiful ! Why do we not hear this man's work more?
New to me since hearing this mans work on Classic FM in the UK
This was a nice afternoon treat. Thanks so much for sharing this.
... a very good musical team - conductor John Jeter and his Forth-Smith-Symphony; I have studied at their interesting website - chapeau!
Just holliwoodish soundtrack, but goooood one! 😃🙃
