Lol! Man I wish I could take credit, but our head trail coordinator REALLY spearheaded the growth. I helped but he’s the real wizard. He’s still out there doing his thing.
Feels great when your mountain bike dreams come true! Had a similar role spearheading Shepherd Mountain in Missouri and I was almost crying with joy when the big mountain enduro kicked off

I grew up Mountain biking in Louisiana, this brings back memories (live out of state now). Lincoln Parish park in North Louisiana is another great option and I grew up riding the Comite River Park trails as I lived about 10 minutes away. And for what it's worth, there's an awesome craft brewery close to where you are (Abita Brewing Co). Thanks for a great video!
Just got a mountain bike. Going to latech rn so ill have to check that out. Found this video looking for trails near me. Wasn't expecting to find it in the comments.
@@Bitrollsi45 I'm sure you're really going to enjoy it. I rode the entire trail system and it was challenging for me...broke a chain, had 2 flats, so be prepared.

Great stuff guys, it just shows that MTB can exist almost anywhere as long as there are people passionate about it. And yes Christina, you're right, we can now understand better why you are the way you are, after seeing those city scenes with all the people having fun. Little bit like yourself: vibrant, full of life, colourful in many ways and, yes, a bit crazy at times. Definitely a bit like you 😁

I'd forgotten Christina is from Louisiana. She buried her accent well. I haven't lived in Georgia in over 40 years and my southern accent still comes out from time to time.
I'll definitely put that trail system on my future "50 State Shred" trip. Looks like fun!

So cool seeing all these different riding spots across different states.
If you go to Alabama, I'd recommend Oak Mountain, Coldwater, and Monte Sano. Notable mention for Chewacla State Park, it has some fun trails but not much elevation, but has a pretty cool jump trail called "The forbidden zone" with a pretty high consequence 35ft road gap.

Mtb in flat swamps. Sounds like an adventure 😊. How about NC? Pisgah Forest has its legends (Farllow Gap, Black Mtn, Pilot Rock, etc) but don’t overlook Wilson Creek, DuPont Forest and even Seth’s new playground. Gotta make it up this way for old school Pisgah Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association maintained trails !

I grew up In Baton Rouge and went to LA Tech, living in the PNW I miss the food (road side crawfish boil from a single wide!) , but not much else.
where were the moon pies, beignets, and cajun seafood platters!!! that's how you fuel an LA bike ride!
The food is more dangerous than the trails
I haven't ridden the trails in this video, but I've ridden the Bethel trails in DeSoto. They're also probably a good option for people in the same lower LA/MS Gulf area who wants more natural/XC style trails.

@@pinkbike Christina - thank you very much for your personal comment. My hometrails are in southern palatinate, and most of all they are thousands of years old singletrails. Flowy, beautifully and at the top usually with an amazing view. When we were young, we really thought about making a book like the “Moser Bike Guide Lago do Gaarda”, to give non locals the chance to ride this amazing mtb-area. Today we are just happy, that we never did it, and with all this digital tools trailforx/Strava etc, that it is still be a secret 🤫 🙋🏼♂️
