Piggy is such an incredible trainer ! She's supportive, positive, kind but also knows what to say to encourage! She's very sweet and a inspiration as are you Meggy
How lovely that as your confidence grew, Jam's jumps smoothed out, her tummy tightened over the jump, and her shape looked better. Piggy is amazingly positive, and you're riding is far better than you're giving yourself credit for. Jam's backend is strong (pingy) enough to get you out of most difficulties. :)
That's just what you needed, real time telling you when you're in the saddle what's happening when you panic so you can feel and know how the get it better :) Each of the wonderful trainers you're lucky enough to have access to has given you a different part of the jigsaw and it's coming together nicely!
hi meg! if u don’t see this, i hope this reaches other people. it is amazing how u have been working back on ur confidence ❤ i have had lots of confidence issues after getting my first horse back in 2021. i have found that just “trusting your horse” has not been that easy and i started losing hope. however, through time, my horse and i have gotten in sync (and fallen back out), always learning new things. breathing exercises helped sometimes, but my nerves got the best of me when she would speed up in the middle of courses. i was scared to ride outside in my outdoor arena when she was fresh, for fear that she would run off. now, i am working on speaking out, telling my trainer whenever i am nervous and working towards showing 2’6-3’0 this year and next year. i think i’ve finally started trusting not only my horse, but myself too. riding anxiety is something i know all too well after falling 2 times almost every lesson when i first got my horse. building my relationship with my horse is something that was difficult when i was scared, but i’m so glad i never gave up, my horse is absolutely mega 🤩 i know some peoples situations are different so let me say this: DONT GIVE UP! and make sure u ALWAYS VOICE UR FEELINGS! sometimes horse and rider partnerships don’t work, AND THATS OK. happy riding! u got this everyone. ❤❤
Thank you for posting this comment it really helped. I've been having issues with my mare for months now. We have good days but most days she bolts off and it's had a big impact on my confidence. We were finally getting somewhere until yesterday when she would bolt almost every time we would do a lap around the arena. I'm feeling pretty discouraged, Not sure what to try next tbh.
@@theequestriandreamer2020 YES OFC! i hoped to reach this comment to ppl who are struggling. i have a fresh mare as well, and it’s so hard getting back in the groove or into the “groove” at all. if u haven’t already, see if the issue is extra energy that ur mare does not know where to put. that’s what my mare has and i’ve seen that having a constant schedule of lessons and lunging is good for her to get her energy out. or possibly groundwork. if those things aren’t possible, i’d say trust ur gut and see if there is anything bothering her. i really hope this helped, and please don’t give up trying, even if it’s hard. but please remember that not all horse and rider partnerships work, and that’s okay. the main thing is working through these issues and get both of your confidence’s up and see where u go from there. stay safe and stay positive. you got this. 🤍🤍
@shurburt Ty ❤️ we are gonna get the vet to double check for anything that could be causing her pain when she comes for her routine visit. She's always had a ton of energy so I'm thinking it's because of that but I want to be sure. Best of luck with your mare!
So proud of you Meg!! And to have lessons from two absolute legends of the sport!! Piggy March AND Lucinda? Wow!! You are one very lucky lady!! Confidence building comes in many forms, talking to a Certified Therapist, taking lessons from people who have been where you are and understand completely how a fall can damage confidence, no matter what level you compete at, helping to rebuild yours is such a selfless act on the part 9f both Piggy and Lucinda. But I'm proud that you took this lesson with Jam and Piggy directing it. I hope she's helped your confidence some. Best Regards from your friend the Retired Paramedic, a S&R Dog and Handler Team Trainer and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖💖🇨🇦🇬🇧
Yaaaayyy! This was brilliant to see 💖 I think it's great that both Piggy and Lucinda have emphasised the importance of the quality of the canter rather than tunnel visioning on the strides. It makes sense to me at least, and it's obviously helping you trust yourself and Jam to be able to easily make the jumps 🤩🥰 It all just looks so much more fluid and effortless too. Well done to both of you. You're a great little team Meg 🥲 I hope you're gradually feeling better in yourself as well now. Keep being kind to yourself and your horses ✨🎉
Just watched H&C Tom Rowland: Jumping Lines. He talks like he and Piggy came from the same place. Quality canter, sitting up straight, if your canter is good, the line will be good. He had an amazing exercise that did allow for some gear changes but again, a great canter makes all the difference.
Hi Meg, you and jam are doing so well! Your such an inspiration for me to get in the saddle even if I'm absolutely terrified. Jammy Is a brilliant horse and you are a fantastic rider! Don't give up ❤
Great job- loved this video. You could see your confidence growing with each round. Trust Jam she will take care of you - the quality of the canter- rhythmic, forward is key! Will you be teaching her flying changes and working on those during a round vs dropping back to trot? Would love to see Winnie and Ari update.
Now wasn’t that just what the doctor ordered!! I am so grateful you shared this lesson! I was feeling a little queasy in my run up to a little event and you have saved me from my go to fetal position!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This “Sit in the saddle and be proactive” lesson is just the ticket! So positive and so focused on the quality canter. You rock Meg Elphick! Please keep sharing these fabulous sessions with these generous and thoughtful best riders of the world!💥
Meg, well done lovely. Piggy, was just what you needed. You and Jam done very well together. You should be very proud of yourselves. You are such a good rider, very inspiring, for riders like me. Bless you x
I'm really excited for you. You've taken a bad experience and through working through it, you are becoming an even better rider. All kinds of growth here. This is what makes you great!!
Totally different to Lucinda and D is a different type of mare to Jam too.....very interesting comparison. Well done Meg your confidence is coming back
Meg I can’t begin to explain to you how much watching this has helped me. I am going through exactly the same regarding seeing a stride, over riding and pulling too much and then killing the canter and often having to pull him up then I just want to cry as feel I am letting him down. I feel like I’m constantly fighting that battle and seeing how your overcoming it is really helping me. Piggy is just wonderful! So great to see you back with your jam bam 🥹❤️ you got this! Xx
Ahhh Meggy I'm so happy for you and Jammy!❤ You're really such an inspiration to me and my own 4 year old 18,1 homebred whom I've been having some problems with recently. Keep it up you're incredible ❤
Well done Meg - you both looked awesome. Easier said than done, I know, but believe in yourself Meg & trust Jam Bam - you have both got this. You both have the training, experience & skills. Your confidence is showing & growing and your joy of riding is also there. Much love & Happy Easter🤗
Massive well done Meg, you and Jam smashed it 🙌 Piggy is an incredible coach. I love how all of a sudden it click in your Brain (no offence) where you needed to push not pull. Sometimes it just takes a different kind of coach telling you in a different way for it to connect. I’m so pleased that my favourite grey is back ❤
Thos was so fantastic to watch! Piggy is amazing (so positive snd encouraging), but it was brilliant to see your confidence grow, Meg. I've been struggling with mine too and feel I have learnt so much from this...thank you Meg, Piggy and Jam ❤🐴💕
I'm so proud of you and I believe in you. There's a reason I've become a fan of English riding and it all started with you. You are awesome and Jam is such wonderful pony
Wow you and Jam Bam are back! That was delightful to see you listening to Piggy and then making the canter work between you and Jammy. No wonder you were buzzing ❤❤❤
I really hope you were happy when you watched this footage for the first time because that was some beautiful riding. And your use of your eye was amazing (Lucinda should be very happy about that!). What an honour to have this lesson with legendary superstar Piggy, but also so well deserved. You showed up and aced it!
I really like Piggy, she is so optimistic and up beat. I was actually saying, "keep it, keep it" along with her. You improved all the time. Everyone around you believes in you, now you just have to believe in yourself. Well done.
WoW what a great confidence booster... Piggy was a great gift she nails the pure simplicity of breathing, keep trusting and staying neutral .. Collection, bounce, balance and sit up and the Horse has eyes on the Hor eyeS on and rider is the Upright Vertical line .. the Cross we Bear, NRG Focus line.. Brilliant...😊
Piggy is awesome, positive and supportive but makes sure you're actually working. You did so well meg, i hope your very proud of yourself, takes a lot of courage to do that ❤❤
This was sooo good to see Meg!!! ✨🙌🏻 I totally totally get that feeling of not knowing whether to leg on or hold back. You have absolutely got this she was amazing so good to see jammy back 🚀 xxx
Awesome video; this is so helpful to watch for my own riding esp the sitting up and keeping canter going. The advice given is invaluable and what a good job you're making of it :)
Good job Meg and Jam Bam, I had a Conny and he would always find an extra leg to keep me safe, it's built into them, they are so clever, remember you can do it, go go go girls xxx
