    Great work! Knowing how your mates work is extremely important & it's great we have the opportunity to have a lot of personnel from the 4 nations to experience it. They can share their 1st hand knowledge with people who couldn't participate & then you've got even more experience being shared from the one big experience.

      @1EccentricMoFo Please, at least look up terms on google before using them, that way you won't look completely inept. There is no martial law as the ADF are not in charge, the State Government is, which has no control over the ADF.

    Need to show China that they can’t bully its neighbors in the South China Sea.

    • @sfoeric
      @sfoeric 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hihihui1 They will claim that no nation is allowed to transit the waterway. They intimidate other nations through the creation of artificial man-made islands as well. Vietnam, the PI and the ANZAC can not tolerate this aggressive posture of the Chinese govt, nor should they.

      @@sfoeric what about the aggressive posture of the American and British fleet off the shores of China? “Aggressive” behaviour should be condemned both ways otherwise that’s called double standards.

    No one is going to invade Australia, but Japan knows that it has a good positive image by joining these, Japan knows if action starts, it's going to start around in the South China Sea or around Taiwan and the Senkaku, this is why Japan is willing to at least pretend it would save Australia or any far flung country (because it knows it really never will have to, because they won't be invaded anyway), however it knows that this gesture of good will means Australia and maybe UK and all the others will enter Asia and help if China goes crazy. Because when it comes to help, the more the merrier. If the sh*t really does hit the fan, Japan would very much like UK, France, Italy, Germany, Australia, Canada, India etc all rush into Asia to combat China.
    The purpose of joint training is to actually make the two forces a bit more familiar with each other, so they are not so confused if they do have to work together on a real battlefield. This is why both show each other how their guns work, both form some kind of simple commands where they can understand at least basically what they are saying or doing militarily. Both also see the type of ships and gear they have, so they wouldn't become confused and accidentally shoot allies etc. Japan invited Germany to some kind of joint exercise also, Germany is interested and trying to get prepared, you might see Germany join Japan in some kind of joint naval war games in Asia.
    War games are even more useful, they allow you to see weaknesses in your own equipment. The USA has never been able to detect Japan's stealth Soryu even once, showing it's basically the world's most stealthy submarine. This also enables Japan to realise it's power, and form strategies based on it. Obviously war games with the USA are good, because not many people have capabilities better than the USA, if you are beating the USA in the war games battles, you know your are very advanced, not shocking of Japan, but it at least reassures itself after this realisation.
    For Japan only the USA is good enough for war games, but countries like UK and France should use the USA also to try to further their abilities, UK and France also have decent navies, not quite as large as Japan's, but the UK and France still have the best navies of all of Europe, and way ahead of Australia also. Australia needs to upgrade and build more vessels.

      And Australia is building it's new Hobart class Destroyers, but they're already a couple of years behind schedule & about $2 billion over budget. We don't want to get in a race with China.

      We have a damned good defence force for our size & a good few world leading platforms in every branch. If you're a RAN fan, look at our long term ship building plans - we are absolutely getting ready for this century.

    • @corvanphoenix

      They're on every firearm - they're bullet catchers which prevent casualties on training exercises. They paint them bright red so everyone can easily see when the weapon is safe - & so you don't forget it's on there if you do need to move some lead.

    If we can do this with 17,000 then that proves why can do it with 170,000 at least. An amphibious landing on the Chinese coast can be achieved with naval and air superiority.
