    What Sandhagen described, learn new things, use what is useful and forget what is not useful… this is actually Hagel’s dialectics. Thesis, antithesis, and synthesis. Beautiful.

    Not at all surprised to hear him say that he's the boss of his show. it shows in his interviews. a lot of fighters take their coaches to their interviews to help answer questions.

    Hard agree about how combinations are low-percentage. Fundamentally, what makes a strike good is that you can land it, avoid getting hit in response, and potentially follow it up with another good strike. This doesn't mean you'll ever be chaining thirty strikes into someone, but it does mean that you'll be operating well until something interrupts your pattern, whether that's a counterstrike from your opponent, which necessitates a dodge or a block, or them moving away from you and creating distance to try to recover. You can't expect that you're going to be able to land 2-3 hit combinations reliably, and too many people make the mistake of assuming fighting is that predictable.

      you don't know how they are sparring tho, they probably are pushing it but not trying to hurt each other.

    • @cloudmaster182
      @cloudmaster182 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sparring implies that they aren't throwing hard enough to hurt each other. It's not the same as an actual fight lmao

    • @JREGreatestHits
      @JREGreatestHits  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cloudmaster182 It's actually worse. Most CTE or brain damage from sports like this isn't from big KO punches in fights.. It's from the constant jarring of the head day in and day out from sparring and practice. Its not the big shots that hurt over time, it's the consistent little ones that happen everyday in training that you don't even think are a big deal.

    • @cloudmaster182
      @cloudmaster182 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @JRE Greatest Hits that is true, it comes from the hits that don't cause concussions, but good sparring still isn't throwing like that, it's supposed to be more of a technique or conditioning thing, which is what sandhagen says he's doing
