I have a 2016 Ace 570 and the cooling fan won't turn on . The fan is good I checked the relay and breaker both good. I took it to the Polaris dealer and they changed a few things but still it won't turn on. I gave up and hooked up a toggle switch I turn the fan on when the temp hits around 195 the turn it off when it cools down. That's getting to be a pain in the ass haven to constantly keep my eye on the temperature so I can turn on the fan manually. Do you have any ideas what I'm missing?
That's interesting... Have you done the test where you unplug the temperature sensor? I'm curious if the fan comes on that way. If it still doesn't, I would probe the fan command wire from the ECU. Looks like it is a negative trigger wire on pin 141 on the 1st ECM plug - Orange wire with a white stripe. If your temp sensor is unplugged, engine on, and you don't have a ground on that wire, your ECU is the culprit and your relay trick is probably your best bet. If you do have a ground on that wire, then that wire could be broken before it gets to the fan relay in your fuse box or there is a problem with the relay/connections at that end. Definitely a perplexing issue to have. Hopefully you're able to figure it out!
I did unplug the temp sensor. The check engine light comes on but still no power to the fan. When I took it to the dealer they told me they checked all the wiring and everything was fine. I don't know if I really trust that they checked the wiring thoroughly so I'm going to go through it all myself. I bought the Ace for my son because he has trouble riding an ATV since he lost a leg in Afghanistan a few years ago. The Ace is perfect for him. Thank you for the help.
