I love that there’s a strong intersection with build options for Mazzy, Truesword Paladin. I’m looking to include Kaima in her 99. As always, thanks for the vid and look forward to seeing more when you have the time!
Great deck. I'm currently building this deck, and have a few suggestions. I'm not sure why Unquenchable Fury is in the deck list. Radiant Performer seems like an awesome include in this deck, because it can copy your aura spell to every creature. This deck also needs a few fog effects, protection spells like Bolt Bend or Snakeskin Veil, and damage dealers like Firebrand, Vengeful Ancestor, and Forgeborn Oreads. Creeping Renaissance seems like an auto include for retrieving all the enchantments from the graveyard late game, after board wipes.
Hmm...I'm not sure why moxfield is showing that art for Unquenchable Fury. It should be the new aura from the commander precon: scryfall.com/card/nec/23/unquenchable-fury I really like Radiant Performer here, awesome suggestion. In most cases, it probably outperforms Smoke Spirits' Aid, which is probably the closest comparable card in the deck. I get the request to add more protection or graveyard recursion. But I also want to be careful not to drop the aura count too low in the process. And I'd probably be more concerned with returning creatures from the graveyard instead of auras, since most of the auras in this deck are weak and individually replaceable with enough card draw. Maybe instead of Creeping Renaissance, something like Shigeki, Jukai Visionary? It's an enchantment creature, it can help you ramp, and it can recover several cards across any card types (except legendaries) from your graveyard to your hand. For protection spells, I'd probably lean towards things like Alpha Authority or Jolrael's Favor, since they're auras. But my concern with these is that you'd almost never want to put them on an opponents' creature, so you wouldn't use them with Kaima to goad things. I haven't made any changes to the decklist yet, but definitely let me know if you have more thoughts on this. Radiant Performer will definitely be going in at some point, and maybe some other changes too. Bolt Bend like you mentioned seems pretty solid, since Kaima's power will be 4+ most of the time. Thanks again for the good feedback!
Why would you ever run Karametra's Favor in this deck? The whole point is to goad their creature and make them punch someone else. But granting a tap ability means they can choose not to attack.
@@thecommandersbeacon1158 Nice. You had a couple I hadn't thought of, like Laccolith Rig and Latula's Orders. I just can't decide if I really want to build this one or not. I've already got a Marisi goad deck and a Kardur goad deck, and Kaima is not only super janky compared to those, but it also feels much weaker.
I agree, I don't think Kaima is as effective at goading as Marisi, Kardur, or Karazikar. Primarily because the cost of one aura per creature goaded is kind of expensive, and Kaima has to stick around to continually goad those creatures you've put auras on. I think Kaima is better suited to a hybrid goad / Gruul-beatdown deck, which is why I've included some of those aura-themed creatures like Valduk and Chishiro in the deck. I don't know that I think Kaima is weaker than the other goad commanders though - just that it can't focus as much on goading, and has to rely on more generalized enchantment / aura synergies. For me, I would still say that Karazikar is my favorite goad commander, with Kardur not far behind.
I haven't figured out yet why Moxfield is displaying that card. It should be the new Unquenchable Fury from the precon: scryfall.com/card/nec/23/unquenchable-fury

Great video! I’m very excited to make this deck. Looks like a lot of fun.

Cool deck man!
Srsly need a Kaima alter based on Princess of Mononokes Pig Gods for some extra flavor of enchanting opposing creatures

Yep, that was a silly mistake on my part. Thanks for catching that one...I've swapped it for Ghitu Firebreathing.

May I ask why unquenchable fury is in the moxfield decklist? It's not a legal card?
I haven't figured out yet why Moxfield is displaying that card. It should be the new Unquenchable Fury from the precon:
