Loved the art! I noticed when recreating that you may have forgotten to say what color you're using at 27:30 when choosing the red. Can be figured out later in the video but thought I should mention for future artists. He chose the fifth color on the bottom row. Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you! Came to the comments hoping someone had caught that!!
It’s the red, I think the 5th one. As he goes backward to the color before it.
Can you please create a video where you explain how to choose the colors and palettes. Honestly, we feel copying you without understanding anything!
Thanks for the amazing work by the way!
I swear, your talent just keeps getting better
That’s very kind thank you 🙏
not only his talent but the way he teaches too. I remember finding him a couple years ago and I kind of couldn't get through on because I just couldn't do it. now I love him and his tutorials are so much better
Admirable
this is first time I’m holding the device in my hands in my whole life, and 2nd week of trying procreate, as well as tutorials….And that was an amazing experience ! Of course results can’t be compared to a professional, but still I’m shocked that the result is good enough for me, that looks nice and live, and just wow! Also you are learning to understand some basic painting concepts while having such a fun ! Thank you!
Glad I could help!
I am new to iPad, procreate, and digital art. This is like Bob Ross for procreate and it really makes me happy. Hope you also continue to have fun and enjoy learning 🙂
I got in trouble a lot in school for drawing, my parents threaten me if I ever drew again and so i gave up drawing in my teens. Now i'm 37yrs old with a respark in interest in art but im very rusty. Its my 3rd day using procreate and WAY more complex than just a pencil. I have a lot to learn lol. Ps. My wife was blown away by the portrait. Thanks for the tutorial!
Love the layering and feel like I am beginning to have more success with rocks. Love your lessons and learn so much.
Glad it’s helping
That fire looks so good. I can't get mine to look that way.... need more practice. Great video!
OMG! I love this! These tips will help me with my new campfire wallpaper I hope to do for my DND group's campaign :) Thank you so much for sharing your talent!
Omg I was thinking of this for d&d art too!
Happy to help
Thank you, James! I impressed my whole family with my version of this tutorial. 😊
Fantastic!
just joined the patreon today and this was my first video of your's i followed along with!
I've always wanted to learn how to paint and your tutorials have helped me me so much. I appreciate you man.
I love your style of teaching.. my art got very much better.. thank you so much.. you are really amazing ✨✨☺️ literally you are the best and no one does teach like you.. keep doing more art like you do.. I am trying all your paintings and 3 I have finished which have come really realistic.. thank you 🎉
Sunday evening waiting is over.... Awesome, James!!!
Joelcreate too is extremely nice, but I find your narration more simple and easy to follow. Stay blessed, dear James 🎉🎉
Thank you so much and really glad you like my tutorials 😊
Wow! Just Magical!!!😊
Thank you 🙏
Stunning 😍
Thank you 🙏
So beautiful! I absolutely love following your tutorials! ❤❤❤
Thanks so much 😊
You create beautiful art and make it seem easy to do so! True experienced artistry. I just got an 13" iPad which I hope to begin trying to create art as well. But I'm really a beginner at it. I like Procreate as it seems simple (interface) and unintimidating yet powerful enough to create the detailed art that you create. If there are videos/tutorials you'd recommend for beginners on Procreate, I'd appreciate a pointer to them. Thanks!
Subbed and liked. Really appreciate how straightforward you make the process; my own art is improving in leaps and bounds thanks to your tutorials. 👍
Very happy to have helped

Thanks so much man 😊
Keep it up
I will!
amazing 😍
Thank you so much
This is beautiful going to try it. what brushes do you use ? Do you make them or procreate already has them ?
Very nice. I hope to reach this development
You can do it!
Hello James, I wanted to thank you for your great tutorials. They rekindled my love for art, and it has been so much fun following them ❤ I have a question, do you have any recommendation on how to learn to paint humans?
You're very welcome! I don’t do human figure tutorials, I think if you just search TH-cam you’ll find some
I say this with all respect and experience, that screen has seen some days! Grinding
Hello! I’m a recently new subbie, and have loved the few tutorials I’ve completed. Thank you very much for sharing your talent. I was wondering if you could help me on your video? At approximately 27.46 you are putting in the glow for the fire…however, you didn’t indicate which color you are using. Could you please tell me that first color? Tyvm!
The strongest red on the bottom row I believe
TYVM!!
I love this tutorial, it is easy to follow, plus we don't have to download or buy some brushes somewhere, like in other tutorials.
I am having an hard time tho, because my brushes and pen pressure aren't behaving the same as your, Sir.
I am a noob when it comes to modify brushes, it would be really awesome and helpfull, if you could share your pressure sensitivity and brushes adjustments you made, so we can do it too and follow along. 🙏
Having the same issue…
Do you have an updated guide I tried one of you earliest videos on candles flames and the technique’s of dropping colors into a new pallet didn’t work the last guide I can see was was 5X 3 yrs ago we are now running 5.9 is your guides still relevant today. Or has the all the most recent updates changed things? I was having trouble with the color swatches
I don’t have an updated guide, most things are fundamentally similar, but if you are having trouble then I suggest sticking with the more recent tutorials
@@JamesJulier-Artist thanks that’s what I thought but I worked out the swatch thing in my versions you no longer have to hold the color and drag it down into the pallet u just make the color and tap on any space in the swatch pallets and the color appears. I do want to use later videos but I want to go through the same journey as you that way I get to be better so I’m working my way through your videos from the beginning. I’ve just completed the matchstick to the side with the flames going up. So I’ve learned to pinch all the layers together and smudge on separate layers. It so much fun. Bob Ross would love your helpful videos your awesome 🙌
@@jmurray2018 thank you so much 😊
If you please tell us more about the brushes you’re using in these paintings, and how can we make brushes like that.
❤
You don’t need to make them they are free in the app
I’m having the same issue. My softbrush airbrush doesn’t cover the box in white even at 100%. It’s only a small circle
I had to change the scatter under the shape that’s how I got it to go larger just for anyone else who has this issue so go under taper to shape shape behavior is going to need to be larger in order to have the brush go spray at a wider angle it is not just the same when you use what is downloaded.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍😍
Thank you so much
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
😊😊😊😊😊
My softbrush is not the same. It doesn’t cover the whole box in white upon raising. How can i adjust?
What's app do you use for draw?
It’s in the Title… “Pro Create”
Is called procreate
Please rate my drawing

Is there a place (like a subreddit) where we can go to post our versions of these if we follow along? I’m just trying to learn to draw (and still very much suck) and I would love some constructive criticism and I would love to see what others have done too.
Hello, can you show us how can draw Phenix come from ash?Thank You.
Nice idea
do you try draw by tablet ?
Like pencil sketch you mean? Yes I have done often
@@JamesJulier-Artist i mean huawei or samsung tablet.
are you buying new m4 13 inch ipad as well?
Yes already bought, just need to install screen protector for next video
@@JamesJulier-Artist nice. can't wait to see your artwork on that!
I don't have few brushes, where to get them.
Which do you not have? I only use the free ones
I love your tutorials, but my airbrushes don’t work anything like yours and I have reset them all. It’s so frustrating 😢
Same here. For example, he starts with soft airbrush at 40%. my brush reaches that size at about 15% - I don’t understand why 😭
May be optimize the pressure sensitivity curve in pro create app setting tab at top left will fix this issue. By default this curve will be linear but experts prefer to put it slightly curved
@@tatianaleroy6814when I first started following his tutorials mine was like that too but I realized I was on soft airbrush and not soft brush. Not sure if this is your cause but double check!
I have the same problem with brush size and opacity .
Maybe take a look into if you are using dynamic brush scaling? Try w it on and off and see if that helps: start a project, tool icon on top left, prefs, dynamic brush scaling.
first
Ha
Omg legit been trying to erase the fire bits from the 43min and it just does not look natural !!!!!!
I really don’t understand. I reset my brushes and follow the strokes exactly and still I can’t get any of them to look like yours. This video was also really hard to follow along with. You shifted colors multiple times at the end and cut out when you switched so I don’t know which colors they are as they look different on the screen I’m watching than they do on my iPad. I subscribed to your Patreon but am still finding myself struggling.
Flame brush is not like yours...
The Eraser dont work like yours and it dont look like yours
I also want to learn 🥲
Go for it
@@JamesJulier-Artist don't have iPad and can't buy because i don't have money 🥲 Is there any other way to learn?
