I also noticed that, so i just assumed that they use the force to press the buttons that ignite the lightsaber, and if you think about it, it's not that crazy that a force user can do that
@@victorcontreras5705that's what I thought too. It's why Luke's saber shuts down after he loses his hand to Vader and like maul being cut in half and the saber shuts down. They're controlled by the force, that's why dark side are typically attracted to red and dark crystals and light side uses blue, yellow and green.
I just had the thought the otheer day that this variable extension where you make the blade come out variably on both sides would be insanely useful in a fight. You could essentially have a spear one moment, then spin to hit with an extending backend while not having to maneuver this backend past your body when you switch sides, as is quite inhibitive with a regular pole weapon.
The one thing I don’t like is the power button set up. I’d much prefer that the red buttons actually turn it on/off. Also, I wish there were a way to turn on both blades one after another while holding it with one hand in the middle like Darth Maul does in the movie. Other than that, it’s pretty great.
I kinda like the motion control thing, but imagine a jedi or sith having this kind of setting, and whenever they using their lightsaber, it would sometimes turned off and on like the thing that happen in 5:21 I mean, imagine trying to attack an opponent, but then your blade just turned off by accident 😂
There actually was a saber like this in Star Wars that in lore had a “feature” where it would turn off and on randomly. It was meant to be a thing where it was supposed to confuse the opponent, but let’s be real, it’s sooooo dumb.
@@Comte_de_LorenzoI don't think it's in a movie, but moreso in the expanded universe, so the comics and games and such ^^ I'm not sure where this one is from, though! Hope this helps, though!
One of my favorite things about the third party lightsabers from various companies is the near universal adoption of smooth swing. It feels like 2019 or 2020 basically every reputable sabersmith moved to boards/cores with smooth swing by default. I do wish Disney Park sabers had the tech too, but i'm not gonna hold my breath.
In my headcanon, lightsabers look like that because they were made for droids, not people with meat hands. (There's of course a bunch of bohemian laser druids with fantastically grippable hilts, but we don't hear about them in the movies because they don't make drama)
@@jellycore1316 I'd gotten really into ape movement and old neolithic weapons during the quarantine (they're all weird and lumpy!) and then the inner Star Wars nerd took over. I now think we lose a lot when we take all the data away from the bits we grip and hilts could use a bit more "kid with a cool stick" energy. th-cam.com/video/7hh3vwGyB9E/w-d-xo.html
I bought mine from Padawan Outpost since I'm from UK but didn't get the black O-Rings when they should have. They sent me two O-Rings and they look a little too thick. Do you know where I can get some like yours?
Apologies for the changes in audio. It seems my recording device kept switching mics on me.
Love these new longform videos. It gives Robin's and your personalities more time to shine through.
Darth Maul was like a real villain, back in the day all the respect to your lightsaber.
I love how lightsabers have buttons but none of the actors ever use a single one of them.
I've seen George Lucas come up with some really stupid lies about inconsistencies like that, I can't believe no one has a good answer for that
I mean, I have the answer. They didn't think about it so they just forgot that they could turn on and off

Count dooku’s saber was always my favorite after Luke’s green saber
They sent this to the right guy lol
The way your swinging it around, Goddamn! That's so cool.
What was it? I don’t know but it was well trained in the Jedi arts my guess is it was after the queen. - Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn
heh the face of happiness when he activated the lightsaber. I'd have been the same.
Dint even like star wars and that looks sick😂
Nice lightsaber work!!
I wonder what would happen if general grievous got his hands on darth mauls saber.
Nah, nah, an Inquisitor's saber. Or four of them 😨
He had Darth Zannah’s saber (another staff) in legends
THAT IS SO SICK WTF
keep it up!
One question, what size did you buy the blade?
People are always talking about owning a musket for home defense, but what about a light saber
Great vid!
Love the bowtie
Thanks! It felt appropriate given the saber
Is it possible to disable the movment detected clash?

Cool

Your best bet is probably to just go to a hardware store and see what they have.
I'm currently overdosing on memories from my youth
Is it base lit?
