Lentils can easily feed and nourish the entire world for very cheap. I use them on my channel whenever I can. Whatever the question is, Lentils are always the answer baby!! Spread the lentil love!
i dont know that story. does the king oblige? is it a biblical nutrition lesson? (just assuming cos i truly have no knowledge of it) if yes, that is just wild that we eat the same now that people wished for back then?
@@CastledarkDweller27 The king Nebuchadnezzar did oblige Daniel and Daniel requested to eat pulse (lentils, beans etc) and drink water for 10 days from the king instead of the Kings meats and wines which they had been living on for 3 years under the Kings orders. Daniel didn't want to defile himself anymore with the Kings meats and wines, Daniel wanted to prove to the king that he and his friends would be healthier eating pulse's and drinking water instead of the rich wines and meats the king had been offering them. After 10 days on this new eating and drinking regime the king saw how healthy the 4 friends faces looked compared to the Kings other servants who ate the meats and drank the wines and the king took away all meats and wine from the servants and gave them pulse's and water probably much to the kings remaining servants disgust and disappointment! After Daniel's 10 day experiment God gave Daniel and his three friends knowledge, wisdom and skill of learning and to Daniel the understanding of dreams and visions. You should read the story in the Holy Bible ( or Google Holy Bible Daniel 1:1-17 which is this story) it's very interesting why Daniel wanted to show the king the difference a diet can make to people physically and spiritually. The rest of the book of Daniel is also full of amazing spiritual insights too just like all the stories in the Holy Bible.
@@BRB929 i remember once trying to read the bible just for curiosity (non religious upbringing) and found when this one begat that one and that one begat this one....i just couldnt get past all the begatting! but i WILL go find Daniel 1:1-17 and read the passages u suggested simply cos Daniel seems like a pretty smart & evolved kinda guy choosing fruit & veg with water & legumes over animal meats and alcohol. I also eat a bowl of green lentil stew (lentils, dried oyster mushroom, dried shiitake mushroom, and mirepoix of chopped&sauteed onion/celery/carrots), cut sweet corn and fussilli brown rice noodles, all topped with chopped scallions and chopped purple cabbage, and with a freshly-chopped Israeli salad on the side (tomatoes/cucumbers/bell peppers) erryday. It tastes so good I don't even need to spice it (I noticed that you didn't really spice yours, either--a testament to how tasty lentils + pasta can be!)

I try to let everyone who doesnt know what to eat when they try convert to more plantbased eating, to eat (more) lentils! However now I send them your video so easy to understand(great explaining!!) all backed up by facts!
Changing lives! Keep up the good work👊🏾
Thank You For This Information 💚💚💚💚.. I Started To Eat Them As A High Protein Source...Black Lentils ARE Very Good...Going To Try The Others...Finding Some Good Recipes 💚💚💚💚🦅🦅🦅🦅
You got something going with this series Derek, i'll tell ya! Very well presented.
i love lentils too ! in France we often eat the green ones as a simple salad :cold with green onions or scallots, with a "vinaigrette" sauce : oil+vinegar +mustard ... so simple and delicious!
Ooooooo sounds good ❤️
I am LOVING the lentil love!!! I have been using them for years. They are very cheap in bulk at Sprouts here in the states. I prefer the red ones personally but ill eat any of them. Lentils can easily feed and nourish the entire world for very cheap. I use them on my channel whenever I can. Whatever the question is, Lentils are always the answer baby!! Spread the lentil love!
awesome! Subscribed! ♥
I've changed my diet and have been seeing a Dietician and she said Lentils are good to eat. Thanks for the video!
This reminds me of the book of Daniel, where Daniel and his three friends ask the king for fruit, veggies, water and beans! Nice! Thanks man!
Absolutely!!!❤️🌱💪🏻
Interesting
i dont know that story. does the king oblige? is it a biblical nutrition lesson?
Thankyou for kindly answering my question.
one year ago i started to be vegan. your videos really helped me at the beginning to learn everything about cooking vegan and staying healthy. thanks for everything. best regards!
Yess! Lentils are just so versatile and nutritious. The red split ones are really easy to cook so i combine them with quinoa and boom post workout meal sorted :P The green ones are better for stews in my opinion.
For the next episode chickpeas or oats would be sweet! THX!
Wow, great video!! Thanks!
You are a warrior 👍
I am heavilly into lentils since cutting back on meat and I really like the taste of green ones and have yet to try the black ones. As for the red ones I was brought up on lentil soup.
Thanks for your great and enthusiastic video sir. It proves how much lentil can energise you!
Blessings and peace
Thanks for posting brother.
I'm watching this video while eating a big bowl of lentils, sweet potatoes, and kale!
Lentils are the first protein rich plant food I fell in love with. They can be soft or hard and taske great with all sorts of spices.
Watching this while snacking on some sprouted green lentils, yum.
Sorry to be thick but do you cook the sprouted lentils or eat them raw?
I'm eating red lentils with rice while watching this! Goosh it tastes so gooooooooood! 🤤
Lentils are one of my favorite foods. Cheap, healthy, and easy to put in most dishes. Thanks for bringing them more into the light!
I just started adding lentils to my rice- 1 cup raw puy lentils to 2 cups raw basmati rice - lentils cooked on the stove with onions and carrot and rice in a rice cooker and then mixed together- really tastes pleasant and not adding too much flavour so works as a healthier rice alternative! Have tried this with various beans and rice and this works the best so far
Sounds yummy ❤️
We love lentils they have become a main staple in our house since I stopped eating meat they are so versatile.
You should try "koshary or koshari". It's the national dish of Egypt and it's made of rice, pasta, lentils, chickpeas, fried onions and tomato sauce. You'll definitely like it 😋

I eat lentils EVERYDAY! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
My favourite food!! Big green Lentils cooked with potatoes, carrot, beetroot and cinnamon / turmeric mix . Served with tahini. I cook mine in a rice cooker but soak for 24hours first. So tasty!! Add a few walnuts and ground sunflower seeds at the end of cooking.
