A true classic! I don’t consider todays stuff classic. This is classy, well acted and golden. I love Broderick Crawford and William Boyett is a nice looking character and a good actor. Thank you for these!

I certainly concur with your statement, and I enjoy seeing the LA area in the 1950's, as I grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and now, as an adult, I recognize many of the filming locations. I am particularly struck with, as to how Mulholland Dr. (dividing ridge road straddling Los Angeles from the San Fernando Valley) looks virtually the same today!

I grew up in the 50s and 60s and don't remember this show. Mother didn't believe in us kids watching television. She said, "Read a book" or gave us chores to do. So, now as an old lady, I enjoy this show and others of that time period. Dragnet is another good one. Beats the crap on media today.

@@BobChippewa I think you just don't like the show. Most of the actors in it do a pretty good job. Evidently, you have no idea of the limitations of producing a low budget series. One is time and another is the cost of reshooting. For the most part these are very well made and manage to hold their entertainment value quite well. Despite being silly in some places they are occasionally quite moving. Can you do better? Had much experience writing, directing, acting in something like this?
Crawford has been dead a long time and still has a huge fan base here.

+telephotousa I'm sure that was in fact a real wrecked '55 TBird. Mom had a '56 and the little details on the wreck(the seats, the engine, the TBird valve cover, firewall, etc) are meticulous and I doubt could have been made up- in a studio mock up. I can see how that 55 T bird got wrecked. Someone souped up the 312 Y block V8 with triple carbs ,probably an Isky cam ,Kong igntion and straight through mufflers . A Y block can rev to 6000 RPM in mild from so the car probably ran out of brakes and whacked a power pole . There were at least 6 different companies making the triple carb manifolds for the y block in the 50's and early 60's . I had one, a Fenton set up which seemed to make more noise than actual power ...A good freind has a Ford Sunliner like Virgil is driving ,all original in punk and white.

I worked as a Reserve Cop, and worked with Parole/Probations. I've been working DoD Security and as a Federal Investigator throughout the late 80's and early 90's. The #1 mistake people make is talking to Cops or other Investigators. Even if you are as innocent as a newborn baby you should "Lawyer Up" and not say a word. I've known in my heart of hearts that a guy was guilty as hell but if he doesn't say a SINGLE WORD it is very hard to convict a person unless you have it on video. Even so-called "eye witnesses" break down quite rapidly when a good Defense Attorney gets them to testify. Don't talk to Detectives, even if totally innocent. NO good can come of it PERIOD.

The problem with that theory is that the US, which is awash in guns, has by far the highest percentage of gun violence in the civilized world. More guns and few regulations, more gun violence. Fewer guns and more regulations, less gun violence. It's not that hard to figure out.

@@kenbob1071 Most 'gun violence' occurs in the most regulated cities and states. And years ago, guns were everywhere; even high school kids at schools had gun racks on their cars. Now all they care about is teaching divisiveness via CRT and gender garbage

If it sounds familiar: buying a totalled heap from the wrecking yard; then stealing an identical "twin" vehicle & switching out all its serial numbered parts.

The wrecked '55 T-Bird was no mock up. I've seen enough in my lifetime to know it was real. It sure didn't have a very long life, maybe a year (looks like it was in a rollover) I'm wondering how or if the real life driver survived the accident (often the steering column is what killed many victims) The serial number plate is actually on the left door pillar. The plate they took was the data plate. Looks like someone had more power than they bargained for after putting the triple carb manifold on it !!
