I remember growing up and watching Hubert on College Gameday with Rece, Bilas, and Digger Phelps. Saturday mornings with those guys with the best. And to see him now become the Head Coach for UNC is just awesome. Good luck Coach Davis!
Great hire keeping it in the family. I didn't like basketball as a kid because l wasn't good at it but l lived in Greensboro in '77 and became addicted to UNC basketball watching Dean Smith and Phil Ford and being became a big fan. Great hire good luck Coach Hubert Davis.

He had a lot of guys to pass on what Dean chose Roy carry on. 24 years into his career Hubert was a talking head at ESPN. Put his name in the mix for an open position on Roy's staff. He was a little more than the right guy for that job. He is the one, the one that has everything to be the next generation of NCAA Basketball coach. As well as keeping the Carolina family tight and the next chapter has started

I’ve heard ppl complain that he has no head coaching experience, like so what ? He’s also a former player and was an assistant/student of Roy Williams for a long time. This was probably UNC’s long term plan, hope it works out.

After getting so bogged down by four years of crooked and creepy politicians and the overwhelming effect of the confining and murderous pandemic, Hubert Davis is a very welcome sweet, refreshing Carolina breeze.
i loved Hubert as a player, and as a life long UNC fan obviously i hope he does well as a coach. however, even if he doesnt do very well as a coach ill always love him as a Tar Heel regardless.

I truly believe Coach Williams left because of the recruiting rules change; not that he could not coach anymore. He was 2 years removed from the back to back years being in the championship game From Dean Smith to Williams it was about relationships with the players and the parents; Suggest to look at some of the stories when Coach Smith passed away. Alot of stories from his former players.

Frankly, stepping aside and letting his assistants continue his style seems like an ego trip for Roy as opposed to moving the program forward.
