    *That's great to hear.*
*This is how ketosis worked for me.*
*Since I've been on keto for two years, I no longer have to take my blood pressure pills,*
*I've lost a lot of weight, I don't have insulin resistance, and I have more energy.*
*The appearance of the skin has improved, the hair does not fall out.*
*It's definitely better and I'm happy that I'm on keto.*

Could you elaborate. How often and long do you fast in an average day or week or are you carnivore or both?

@@doctordutchFor ketosis you just need a diet with no carbohydrates, and can eat as much as you want. Check your labels, but for the most part that's meat, cheese, eggs, and a limited number of veggies, just NO carbs. Seriously check your labels, carbs are in everything. Keep in mind on this diet muscle building exercises should be avoided as it can damage your organs. Done properly, you will lose weight FAST. consult a doctor for sure.

I was at the extreme end of Hypertension and a little over a year ago, I switched to a Carnivore diet. I was off my BP meds in just over a week, also wiped out an autoimmune disorder I had suffered with for over 10 years.
I'm 60 and I haven't ever felt this good. The bonus weight loss and muscle tone/growth has to be seen to be believed. Cheers and good health to you and your family, Shawn.

@@doctordutch Switched at 59. Been just over a year now.
Mostly beef (steak, stewing beef, ground beef), small amount of pork and chicken.
Redmond's salt, distilled water since 2019.
Most think the daily looks bland and boring and I thought that too, in the beginning.
After a week, all the tasty treats you craved, whether salty or sweet, just disappear. You start craving beef, beef fat, eggs, bacon, butter, salt, all the things your body has been trying to tell you it wants, ever since you were a kid.
I haven't had any carbs, sugars, plants since May 9, 2023 and I don't have to 'try', I just have no urge or craving for any of it. I was a Dorito fanatic, havent had any and don't miss them at all. I feel twenty years younger and I sleep like a baby. So calm, peaceful, no stress, too much energy though.
Life changing stuff. Everyone needs to wake up to this reality and say goodbye to big pharma.
The only thing you'll need a doctor for is trauma.

My brother p!anted a big patch of comfery close to his pen. The chickens love it and their eggs show it. Comfrey roots go to about 10 feet deep and survive drastic conditions. Their leaves pack a load of minerals and nutrients and I make a healing ointment from them. The leaves are a great addition to garden soil.

So we have 200 hens on pasture. Over 400 feet from the house in mobile tractors with flexinet moveable solar electric fence. Biggest loss can be from raptors. 2 or 3 roosters with the hens really help. When they see a bird overhead the roosters put out a call and you can see all the hens run to be under the chicken tractors. The rooster guards save us lots of birds. Ditto with the bears and bobcats. Roosters let the hens know when danger is present. There is a purpose for all animals in nature, including the good old rooster.

You're wise to be remineralizing your soil. The material you are using is Spanish River Carbonatite mined near Cartier, ON, about one hour drive from my home. It's difficult to source the product in stores now since Home Hardware can no longer carry it, but it is exported worldwide. My solution was to start buying it by the tonne (I have connections :-)) and reselling to folks in my area (Greater Sudbury). I also use it as a prime ingredient in Steve Solomon's Complete Organic Fertilizer (from his book The Intelligent Gardener) which I also market, with his endorsement. Steve is an expat American living in Tasmania. Shawn, if you read this, I highly advise you use a Melich III soil test, through Logan Labs in the USA - not available in Canada. The chicken coop is AWESOME.

I mix the rabbits droppings with it . I’ve done that for two years now . My garden is getting most of the organic stuff it needs . I have a mulch bed where everything that’s scraps goes into it . I mix some of that in my garden as well . All the chopped up corn stalks , pea vines , potato vines and stuff like that goes in my mulch bed all year to be put in the garden in the early spring . That’s all I put in my garden for fertilizer .

I've been taking Cardio Miracle, which isn't as natural, but really good quality.

I’ve had chickens for a few years now and just one of the great things about having them is the poop is fantastic on my garden! Another boon to having them is that they’re always ready to help me by eating the leftovers when I clean the refrigerator out, lol. They love scraps!
For mites etc… I use First Saturday Lime in my coop and run. None of the dozens of chickens I’ve ever had have had varmints on them. I swear by the Lime and it’s safe for my cats and dogs too, though I don’t use it one them.

*Good on you Shawn! Daily healthy diet plus exercise are on your side, and should you want to go further, try the intermittent fasting as well with a small window for consumption within a 24-hr period. Take it from a former diabetic2 with high blood pressure and cholesterol, you would feel much younger and energetic with that integrated approach! Love your channel, so inspirational!*

We have a backyard flock for eggs and meat for the same reasons. Only use organic feed and free range on our property, with 10 hens and one rooster our feed cost is about $4/ dozen but they are a large breed with quite large eggs. Is it worth it? Yes, we know what they eat and they are excellent gardening tools and fertilizers. I use deep wood chip bedding in the greenhouse for the winter which gives us great mulch for garden pathways and compost base.

Awesome barred owl footage and nice to healthy two healthy chicks. Hopefully they don't get too invested in your chickens to warrant going after them and potentially injuring themselves in the process. I have a friend who also lives up north in the woods who did the same thing actually. He said he got great eggs but for the predators that live there, it's like putting the holy grail of good eatin' for everyone to notice haha

Years ago I lived near a place that had top soil and compost in big piles .you could gig your own.
.I took two big trash cans filled them up with mushroom compost.
Then tryed to lift them on to the truck.
My two sons helped .thay were 10 and 12.
It was a struggle but we did it.
I dug up the side yard got rid of grass tilled the ground with compost.
Planted the whole yard with flowers all purple and yellow and white. It looked so beautiful. There was a big planter by the entry to house with a covered walk way all the plants looked sorry one bush dead, I pulled it out. There was a big hole ,so I filled it up with compost. You wouldent belive how the plants reacted creeping charlie, leaves size of a nickel were now size of a baseball. Spider plant was wild. I pulled out a big one I thought, ,but the baby's had baby's. Ibplanted it in a pot on a iron stand the baby's covered the outside of the pot , about 3 or 4 feet it was gorges. Unfortunately someone stole it and some others one in a wheelbarrow full of flowers. There was mor , but it makes me angry . So I will stop thinking about my loss.

Always wondered about nutritional values of food. They measured them in the 70's originally. And it's not like they measure the value every year and all over the nation. And I doubt farmers do soil nutrient tests either. I've assumed the data was off for a long time...

Same thing has happened to us. We used to buy lovely free-range eggs, Lately, however, the egg quality has gone down and down. Sadly we can't keep chickens as we live in an apartment. Think the neighbours would complain if chickens were running round in our communal hallways! Chicken coop is looking GREAT, Shawn!

We just lost two of our laying hens to nesting hawks this past week. Part of the trade off with having birds free range. Free range birds eat less feed and
you’ll never have a tick problem with birds gobbling them all! You just have to be prepared to replace the few unfortunates that the predators get :(
We live in central Maryland and predators are generally worse when they are nesting.

A few years back I "roofed" my chicken-run + Vegetable garden over with fine chicken-wire after I lost chickens daily to our Gymnogene's (African Harrier Hawk) and Owls.
I even dug the wire one foot deep into the ground to keep the snakes out which before squeezed themselves under the wire into the garden and killed my chickens.

The chicken coop is cute and curvy. So the coop is for food and eggs. I hope you raise plenty of roosters. My guess is that you won't free range the chickens for safety. The martins and other small predators it will be tough. Make sure you put any wire more than a foot deep in the ground so predators can't get to you stock. You will need heating and colling fan for them. I hope the best for the familys indevor.

Chickens can be a little extra work but eggs are always a good thing, chickens eat most of the food/garden garbage, they provide fertilizer and can potentially help fighting pest in the garden. All in all they will probably be a nice addition!
