    It looks like the D10N will need to be sandblasted to remove the rust build up before it eats into the steel. Then freshwater wash to get rid of the salt. Then repaint.

    I'm surprised at the fishermen using such an expensive piece of equipment just to do that job, I would have thought a smaller one would do it just as well. They use exactly the same method in the UK near where I used to live, but use far smaller machines for what looked to me about the same size boat.

    • @christopherlovelock9104
      @christopherlovelock9104 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hmm, I can tell you one thing, those can rust just as quick as anything that is constantly in and out of salt water. Metal gets 'eaten' very quickly, even by the 'sea air' and even if it is 20+ years old, - (which it probably is), I should think it is worth about as much as one of those boats or even more. The EU have probably brought in some stupid law which says you can't use winches due to the length of the cable, - Health & Safety, and all the rubbish that goes with it.

      Because they can with a D10N ;-) No wharf/pier to offload fishing catch; and easier to do it on dry land into a truck; some have asked why not build a dock; i'm guessing whoever owns the boats decided its cheaper this way; i'm sure with what looks like a very large tidal change and the shallow angle of the shoreline, a very long, tall wharf, would be very expensive

  • @Retired88M

      Thomas Ancas. Presumably a used D10 is cheaper than a D7 because D10 is a Heavy duty dozer and expencive to move from job to job and nothing worth as used (scrap metal value)
      D7 is easy to resell.

      Mister Meener. This way of fishing is from the 19’th century and the cheapest way due to the erosion of the costal line.
      The boats has special undercarriage to be drawn in and out.
      If a harbour should be build it is the fishermen them self there has to pay for it. So to survive fishing this is the most cost efficiant way to do it from this particulare costline.

The Spaniards and the Portugese are getting it all now. You should go investigate how much Ireland is making per useless sheep on their useless cliffs in EU grant each year or how much Olive oil the Greek are dumping for EU grant because they refuse to grow any other crops .
