- After doing everything I could to find this song, I finally gave up and decided to take matters into my own hands lol. Here's my Frankensteined version of Momma Let Go aka the Conga Line song. It's too long for most people I'm sure, but, I wanted to indulge in it lol. Here are the other songs I "made" from this movie:

It saddens me that there's no proper studio recording of this song but I feel a little better knowing that I'm not the only one who wishes that there was one. It's crazy that a song this good will probably never properly see the light of day but life is crazy like that. I feel about it the same way I feel about the lost Doctor Who episodes. Maybe some day something will turn up. Never give up hope!
Matt Emswiler I feel like there’s probably a master laying around in a drawer or file cabinet somewhere deep in the studio archives. It’s just the no one with the access cares enough or has time to seek it out. I mean we have to admit, it is pretty obscure.
Or, they just destroyed the master and recycled the tape or cd for another project.

That does not surprise me in the slightest...The only hope there is with this song is that I have heard from a guy on a message board somewhere that him and his wife heard this song while on vacation somewhere in the Caribbean...Perhaps this song is still played down there...But thanks again for posting...I have scoured the entire net...I even got the names JD Nichols and Peter Wolf from the movie and looked them up on Facebook to ask them about a studio copy...Never found them...This is such a fantastic song!

Like many of you before me, have searched this song for years. Always coming up empty with just clips from the movie. Great job clipping a long version together. Great movie and even greater song. Always makes me think back to the great Caribbean and Cruises I have taken over the years!

I think by score she means movie specific music they make just to match what's going on. Often these songs go unreleased and ignored in the background in movies and shows. Sometimes they are particularly catching and snatch audience attention which becomes a problem with no official track existing and probably not saved anywhere.

I worked on this film. We got a break in the pouring rain to shoot the Conga line. There WAS talk with the brass about a movie soundtrack, but was vetoed.

Far worse and terrible soundtracks have made their way to light - boggles me that this one never got a release! Don't give up hope! Dirty Rotten Scoundrels had a soundtrack released in limited quantity by popular demand over 10 years after the movie was released, go figure. Lots of these lesser known songs are hitting the public domain age about now which would make it easier to do.

Being a huge fan of this song like all the other commenters, I decided to check out a lot more Reggae. This song seems to be an anomaly, it's not really like most of it. It's an Americanized pop version, which is probably why it's so appealing heh. This leads me to believe that my be part of the reason this song does not exist in any other format. For all we know J.D. Nicolas could think it's ridiculous and refuses to play it again. With that being said, why hasn't anyone decided to do a faithful cover version? I'm sure someone out there knows people in a reggae band that would give it a shot.
