I wonder if it as some point the code will specify that at least one front and back tumbling element will be counted in the D score to promote more actual front tumbling instead of everyone throwing front tuck indirect connections to fulfill the current requirement.
That’s a good idea. There’s not a lot of gymnast with a great mix of skills (bwd, fwd), it’s usually one or the other. Aly Raisman is great example of being great at both, on the other hand Simone does mostly bwd skills.
I think the idea of CR, like compulsories, is that the gymnast shows basic minimum competence at core skill groups and she should be able to fulfill CR with A skills without any penalty. E.g., a number of gymnasts demonstrate minimum competence with a simple A value full turn on beam. If that element must count towards their 8, those girls are penalized with an A skill or must upgrade to a more difficult turn. And we'd suffer a lot more bad turns as those gymnasts try to upgrade at least to a C value. More Ls and wolfs, probably. I think demonstrating basic competence for CR should be enough and the gymnast should be able to use the 8 counting skills to show off her particular expertise.
Oooh, so tempting but at the same time, so dangerous because not all gymnasts can perform both dv-worthy bwd and fwd tumbling passes. But since the cr that there must be both twisting and double salto exists, why is fwd element counting in final dv not a cr? Nastia Liukin had trouble with the double salto cr.
It's happened, even with top gymnasts. The judges ruled Alicia Sacramone's dance passage didn't fulfill CR at 2006 Worlds. I feel like Simone had an injury in 2014 and intentionally didn't compete a front tumble but I may be thinking of another gymnast. It's more common on beam, where connections for dance and acro series combos must be direct. Ellie Black in 2017 and Kara Eaker in 2019 didn't receive credit for dance series on beam. Aliyah Muatafina occasionally had issues with crediting an acro series.
Also, if a gymnast has one full turn on beam and falls on that, she will lose 0.5 in CR unless she is successful in a 2nd attempt at the skill. But most gymnasts won't attempt the turn again after already falling and just lose the CR.
It happens at almost every competitions ! Another example : Lieke Wevers fell on her Acro series at Worlds 2019, she lost the chance to gain the +0.5 CR for having an acro series and also +0.5 for having a backward skill. She only did 2 out of the 4 requirements.
it happens often. about 99% of the time it is a mistake, and not intentional. examples: in 2010 mattie larson was supposed to do a 2.5 twist + front layout. she messed up and didn’t do the front layout. therefore she didn’t have that forwards skill requirement. in 2014 worlds beam finals, aliya mustafina was supposed to do a front aerial + front aerial + backhand spring. she messed up on her first front aerial and only did a front walkover out of it, but she wobbled. she didn’t connect the backhand spring either, so she missed the acro series requirement.
Thank you ! This is really easy to understand but it’s also super informative 😊And just a little question : if you do a round-off to double arabian directly connected to a front tuck, will the front tuck count as a forward salto ?
What is the penalty or deduction for having music with lyrics? I mean I guess they check your music before you go but in Rio Daria Spiridonova's floor music said "yeah", she got deducted or they just ignored it?
It must include 8 skills (at least 3 dancing, 3 acro and 2 choosingly). The last acro line is named "dismount" just like on other any apparatus, and the hardest salto must be counts.
I want the female gymnasts doing double pikes are safer especially double front tucks had horrible accident of tumbling passes do a double pike is a lot safer than a double tuck. Horrible accidents happen to the female gymnasts landed in emergency rooms with broken bones and the head injuries.

@@gymnasticsmasterclass yeah it would definitely change the dynamics of floor. Sae Miyakawa would dominate under that code.

@@gymnasticsmasterclass but let's be honest, bwd skills she does are higher-rated than any fwd skills in the code.

It was an easy to understand a movie. Thank u!
Great video! I would be interested to see an example of someone NOT fulfilling the CR in a competition! I’m assuming it’s never happened before 😂
It happens with Aliya Mustafina a lot on beam 😂

Loved the video. Maybe I missed it, but if this is for beginners, maybe you can define a salto.

Thank you so much :) Yes, it will. But any Arabian skill is considered a forward salto too
@@gymnasticsmasterclass okay, thanks 😊
This was informative. Will you be doing the other events as well? Or did I miss those?
Yes, I will :) Thank you for watching

You get one point off I think
do you have a playlist of mens gymnastics as well?

I don’t really understand why floor musics can’t have lyrics... great video tho
Thank you. Imagine someone performing to WAP 😂😂😂
@@gymnasticsmasterclass ha!
@Gymnastics Masterclass omgg 😂😂😂
What about having choreo after the last tumble and not just doing a pose like Melnikova. I've read she has been penalized for this.
Nice uploading video.👍
But Simone Biles had lyrics in her Rio 2016 music.. the part that leads to her third tumbling pass
I rewatched it, those weren’t lyrics they were just vocals
Is the lyrics prohibited in all languages?
Yes, I assume
The full turn it is another rule I believe
It is on beam, but not on floor. Most gymnasts do one though for a higher D score
@@mojovr5003 but others only do a full turn
@@davidfernandez2733 they do
Limber ns those tush's
1st!
It feels weird you used biles as ur thumbnail but never involved her any of your example. Click bait? Haha 👎🏻
